QUOTE(marsh @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 09:49 AM) If there are bases loaded and a drop third strike occurs doesn't the catcher just have to step on the plate to force the runner on third out? If I am remembering correctly, when you have a drop third strike with the bases loaded the batter is entitled to first base. edit: i found the rule, the batter is automatically out because first base is occupied and there are less than two outs. If there were two outs and the above happened then the catcher could just step on home. Yes that is all he had to do, he probably forgot that bases were loaded and tried to get him in a run down
-
alright enough, lets go out and beat the snot out of these blue jays
-
sounds like we are stuck with what we got, not a bad thing though

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) KGJ can impact the game. He is someone that would again strike fear in the opposition. He would make everyone around him better. People in front of KGJ and behind him in the order would get much better pitches to hit. Its a waterfall effect. "Sigh" he would be like getting frank thomas back

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 05:14 PM) As far as touted, I've heard Sweeney and Anderson more than Young. Honestly, I didn't mind which one we gave up of the 3. I know they're all pretty good. Also, it would've helped the Sox alot because Griffey is a guy people would go buy tickets to go see on the Southside because he's still a marquee player and cope that with winning and you have butts in the seats. exactly, he brings more people in the park and gets our system more money, and not to mention can play

nice job, and you got it done quick

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:26 PM) Now I am hungry. Dammit Now you have to post the recipe. Its only fair. Being raised by Irish parents and marrying an irish wife really kills my dining experiences. My mother in law thinks Ragu is too spicy to eat. Dammit Griffey and Burroughs would be great. i really dont see the point in acquiring burroughs when we have crede and blum, i know burroughs is capabl of playing second but are their other positions he is capable of playing
-
im not too fascinated with sele, hed be a good guy to use in bullpen and spot start but hes old and is losing his talent
-
griffey will make it through the nl untouched, none of those teams would be willing to take on his contract except the mets and cardinals who i doubt would do it because soon enough they are going to get most of their team back off of injuries boston and the yankees would be our only worries
-
QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 12:47 PM) I agree. Boston doesn't have room for him on the field right now, nor do they lux tax wise. They've made it clear that they don't want much to do with that. Yanks would have first crack at him due to their record being worse than Boston, they can afford him, but I don't know what they could offer in the way of a trade. yanks arent going to go after him, i think their lineup is already pretty packed and there arent many open spots on their roster to put him, im not even sure where we would put him quite frankly, i like carl and id hate to bench him
-
alright duque, lets win this one and start a new winning streak
-
aw man, i hope we can still get griffey, we could still really use a bat
-
Still gonna keep my old one around, i uploaded it in photobucket. Looking at getting a sig with Aaron Rowand and Mark Buehrle in it saying Wheelin and Dealin, and maybe putting both players names somewhere if you could find a spot. Gracias in advance

i think this thread screams, make your lineup: Podsednik Iguchi Dye Konerko Everett AJ Rowand Crede Uribe

Do the Sox need to look over their shoulders

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 11:43 PM) I'm just hoping to make the playoffs. If that is accomplished, then you have to take on any and all comers. This isn't like the NCAA Tournament, where you can hope that a massive underdog knocks off a favorite before you play them. oakland is an exception here, if you cant beat a team you guys are mentally beaten when you play them -

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 11:39 PM) Cleveland will not catch us, but it'd be nice if they caught Oak. and won the W.C. and Ana. won the west. im just hoping for oakland to move up to the top of the al west so we dont have to play them -
i saw that, it made it sound like it crashed on tv not skidded off the landing point, amazing story that all of these people lived, god was with them

f*** oakland, why the hell are we thinking about them, cleveland has been doing pretty damn good lately if i dont say so myself, IMO the twins are out and the injuries have hurt them even my friend who is a twins fan admitted that they are done. Everyone is forgetting that the indians have been doin pretty damn good lately and are able to catch up to us now that their team is starting to hit a little better -
hey we won four in a row and we are 12-6 after the break, just have to go after tomorrows game and get the win
