Most Improved Player In The NBA
ChWRoCk2 replied to hammerhead johnson's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
jamaal tinsley has also improved much since last year, same with bruce bowen of the spurs -
thats just dumb hiring a coach who had troubles running his own offense which sorry to say was horrible, yeah this wont help the bears, not like anything would
-
I was thinking about that carlos lee trade after the signing and thought instead of acquiring a "player to be named" we might actually be better off getting cash out of the deal if that is possible. That would definitely help our team.

QUOTE(S720 @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 09:53 PM) Everyone, please calm down. Kenny still has three more moves to be made: 1) Sign Iguchi 2) Sign Rob Nenn to a minor league contract 3) Trade Garland, Burke and Brian Anderson for Vazquez Only then Kenny will be done with this offseason. Heck, even without the above signings and trade, I still bow to Kenny. rob nenn? cant remember the last time he played but we dont need to fool with him thats for the cubs to do Im 50/50 on the iguchi signing idea, i want him because seems like japan players have success here, but ive never seen him and for all we know hes just a hype we are making bigger Trade garland burke and anderson? if we did that i would definitely want some money from this, but i dont think this will happen
-
i went with cora because i seem to like cora and he will get along with the guys the most out of all the choices, he gives the sox better chemistry, plus i havent seen iguchi play therefore i chose cora

QUOTE(Loaiza21 @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 09:35 PM) Going into the season with AJ at catcher instead of a Davis/Burke platoon how many wins do we add to this team? Is it fair to say 5? I'd like to hear some of your opinions. I'm jacked with this signing, this dude could be our best catcher since Fisk. i believe that catchers dont add wins, if they did why were the pirates so horrible with jason kendall, aj brings power and a lefty bat and that should improve us

QUOTE(whitesox89 @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 08:17 PM) You said during the Lee trade to post a poll after we signed a couple guys. So now we have gotten El Duque and A.J. What you think. You like it now? Carlos Lee for Podsednik, Vizcaino, El Duque, and A.J. still need an infielder
-
New A.J. info--Sox have him for at least two years

definitely bobby simmons this guy has just been phenominal, you know whos not on that list is primoz brezec, hes been a stud for charlotte in the early months -
i heard on the radio earlier he wants a minimum of 6 yrs and 100 million and last time i checked 75 was less than one hundred so you can count on seeing carlos in blue and orange (reference to the mets)

QUOTE(babybearhater @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 11:36 AM) AMEN on the T Graffinino line, I wish he was still here. ugh no i hated graffanino, not a big fan

QUOTE(Boxer83080 @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 07:04 PM) CF Podsednik vs. CF Torii Hunter 2B Iguchi vs. 2B Nick Punto LF Rowand vs. LF Shannon Stewart DH Thomas vs. DH Lew Ford 1B Konerko vs. 1B Justin Morneau RF Dye vs. RF Jacque Jones C Pierzinski vs. C Joe Mauer 3B Crede vs. 3B Mike Cuddyer SS Uribe vs. SS Juan Castro SP Mark Beuhrle vs. Johan Santana SP Freddy Garcia vs. Brad Radke SP Orlando Hernandez vs. Carlos Silva SP Jose Contreras vs. Kyle Lohse SP Jon Garland vs. Terry Mulholland Takatsu Nathan?? lets see they way you have them paired up hunter is better than spod iguchi and punto are even because cant say ive seen either play rowand is better than stewart thomas is better than ford konerko is better than morneau dye and jones are about even pierzynski and mauer, not sure havent seen either play enough cuddyer is better than crede uribe is better than castro santana is better than buehrle garcia is better than radke el duque beats silva lohsa is better than contreras garland is better than mullholland this is what i think looking at how you match them up, but every time we play the twins make less errors and play pretty solid, give credit to gardenhire for somehow always winning with his s***ty ass team hes got, to answer your question i believe we have improved if these moves go through
-
QUOTE(C_LEE45 @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 12:04 PM) man there getting everybody,Maggs,Beltran whos next!!!! i hope the yanks or mets sign CB,and then houston goes for maggs. dude the cubs didnt even offer the minimum of what beltran wants, i was listening to the radio and he said he wants at least six yrs for one hundred million and what the cubs offered like 75 million, yeah he wont sign, and so what if they get maggs hes not the most consistent hitter, and he may still have some injury problems anyhow
-
white sox have always been chepa on the market, just face it, even though its not good to over spend they just havent yet realized that you sometimes need to overspend to get the player you want, i dont see why they dont add a second year option to their contract offer they gave to iguchis agent
-
White Sox and Iguchi far apart in Negotiations
ChWRoCk2 replied to Sanjay2000's topic in Pale Hose Talk
i dont think iguchi will sign with us anyways we have to much of high hopes for him, i wouldnt take the deal that was offered either, even though i hate to say it the white sox have always been cheap when it comes to getting players -
loaiza didnt sign yet so lets not rush into something here, i have never seen anywhere where it says loaiza agrees to a deal with the dodgers

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 01:15 PM) I feel sorry for all the Cardinal fans... This guy wass the worst of all the second basemen on the market (and yes that was counting Robbie Alomar). I like David Eckstien but that MI of theirs is going to have the worse range of any in baseball. I just expected them to do so much better then that Scrub. true they now have too many infielders, im guessing they are going to use robbie alomar to pinch run, because they have eckstein and now grudz, they have a mess in the infield
-
QUOTE(P-Pod @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 10:20 AM) i hope KW gets creative with the offer because i'm not so sure AJ will take a 1 yr. 2 million offer...although ive heard about the possibility of incentives in this post. what incentive would we give him, our best hope is to give him a 2 year option
-
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 08:45 PM) i can really see them trading polanco next for nothing they didnt want him in the first place the only reason he was offered arbitration was they were hoping he would decline it and wanted a draft pick. i bet the yankees might possible look into that, because they dont have a 2nd basemen yet, at least not that comes to mind?
-
trust me i used to be a huge indians fan way back then
-
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 08:28 PM) Philly will be trying to move Polanco or Mike Liberthal possibly so they can get under payroll. And they would be interested in guys like Adkins for the bullpen who are cheap and could possibly post ok-ish numbers. charlie manuel always has like bullpen players, suprised he would want to move polanco
-
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 5, 2005 -> 05:09 PM) If Lovie was serious about being a running team, then OL>WR. forgot about this, hello ot taken with the fourth pick, i liked the idea of a linebacker said earlier
