We know it's Eckstein...
Last season he hit .279 against lefties and had a .345 OBP.

What do you think of El Duque
The best way to keep him from getting injured is to limit his pitch count to 100 since he is old and has had shoulder problems. There will be a lower risk of injury and he will pitch his best.

"One More Piece of the Puzzle"
Your right he wouldnt be much of an improvement. Their BA were about the same last year. Cora has always had a higher OBP though. Eck would be a more suitable upgrade.

Rumors thread
20 years ago bonds weighed 180 and had a hat size of 7 1/2. Now he weighs 260 and has a hat size of 9 3/4. How can he not be on steroids? His head looks like a watermelon.

They are called quotes.

I gotta go with El Duque. $8 mil a yr for Perez is just way too much.

What the hell are you talking about Soxycardnals?

Good points. This set of players hasnt worked since 2000. We were going nowhere so KW was forced to make a change.

It's his left foot.

Konerko Article
I heard about that too. If it is true that shows how much he wants to stay here, considering he is a FA after '05.

I said fair also. I think we really need Eck/Cora at 2B. If we get one of those 2 it will be a good offseason. Hopefully we can be a big pain in the ass for the twins and maybe even take the division in '05.

WSCR 670AM, MLB.com: "El Duque" agrees to deal
I agree with that. Dont let him go over 100 pitches. That will help him prevent injuries and pitch to his full capability.

Ha Ha Nardi! That sack of crap never sat down! He went out to the mound every time a somebody got walked. A minute later the pitcher gave up a 3 run bomb.

Quotes from KW regarding Hernandez
It looks like all our SP will have winning records. I think this is a good move too.

Quotes from KW regarding Hernandez
Wow the best report on a physical he has ever seen. This is very good. Hopefully OH will do very well for us.

Rate the offseason
We lost lee but we gained a strong bullpen with the additions of Hermanson and Vizcaino. We also gained a base-stealing machine and hopefully he will be a good lead-off hitter. Along with that we finally got a fifth starter in OH. Considering we barely had Maggs last year we didnt really lose his stats. To me our team is better than last year and i am willing to bet we get more wins than last year.
-
Still need a starter.
Yeah lets stop arguing about his age and worry about his stats and how he will do this year.

True Radke and Santana might not but up the same numbers. But Santana has much better stuff than Elo had in '03. Elo success was almost solely do to his cutter. Santana has all around great stuff.
-
Still need a starter.
I agree that he could be older just not in his low to mid 40's like some have said.
-
Aaron Rowand
Last year he hit .310 with a .905 OPS. When i said he could be a guy to build our team around i meant if he put up those numbers again.
-
Still need a starter.
MLB.com said that OH was born in 1969. That means hes 35. But since he's from cuba you never know. He could be 39. Some people said he was in his 40's i dont believe that and i dont know where they got that from.

Why the indians? Dont tell me Cliff Lee scares you. After sabathia and Westbrook they have nothing.
