The Cubs' offense is horrible. They are mostly composed of all-or-nothing homerun hitters. McCarthy pitched well that day but the Cubs' offense can make any pitcher look good, hence Jason Jennings' start yesterday versus the Cubs.

Dusty could be tempted to pitch Prior on a broken elbow. I wouldn't put it past him.

Rick Sutcliffe of ESPN said that he thinks Prior will miss the rest of the season if the injury is as bad as ESPN is reporting. Best-case scenario: only missing the rest of this season. Worst-case scenario: could be a career-threatening injury.

I hope El Duque will be ready for his next start and that will be McCarthy's last start of this season.

A couple positives from tonight... 1.) Shingo actually lowered his ERA to 4.72. 2.) Kevin Walker's ERA is still 0.00.

Vizcaino, Walker, and Shingo just had three of the ugliest innings that actually lowered all three of their ERA's.
