Maybe, maybe not. If Chandler's offense can improve, I don't see why Curry's defense can't improve.
Is there any way we can just fuse Eddy and Tyson into one all-around great player?
Garland at least pitched in the minors. Eddy only played in high school. It would be a fair comparison had Eddy played in college.
Ben played 29 minutes, scored 20 points, and pulled down 4 rebounds.
Tyson played 23 minutes, scored 3 points, and pulled down 7 rebounds.
Each has their own role but I know which one I'd rather keep if I had to make a choice.
Chandler would have to do something really drastic. The guy seriously looks clueless when he has the ball. He looks like he's scared and doesn't know what to do. I love his defense and put-backs but I cringe when he has the ball near the basket.
I will take a good post-up move and shot over waiting and hoping for put-backs and tip-ins. If Tyson doesn't get those, he doesn't score. Eddy's defense can improve. The ideal thing would be to be able to sign both Eddy and Tyson but we probably won't be able to afford both.
Chandler will never be the scorer under the basket that Curry is. Even though he's 7'1" he's only 235 pounds. He would have to seriously bulk up and learn a post-up move because all I see him do is stand under the basket and look for someone to pass the ball to.
And that would leave us with no scoring presence under the basket. If you watched Tyson tonight, you would see that. He gets the ball under the basket and doesn't even know what to do with it so he just stands there. He has no post-up move whatsoever. Eddy has Shaq-like touch around the basket. He can make shots even when defended well. What I really want to see is both Eddy and Tyson starting again. I want to see what they can do together now that Skiles has made them both work for it.
You mentioned steals first, not his overall defense. I agree that his defense leave ALOT to be desired but that can improve with time. He is still young and he probably didn't even have to play defense in high school.
And if Eddy continues to improve, he will be worth the money. Do you want him to play bad or something?
Also, when was the last time we had a "true" center?
Did all of those 24 other centers come into the league at 18 years of age? This would be Eddy's first year in the NBA had he gone to college. There's no adjustment period for a kid as young as he was entering the NBA? Keep in mind that he lost weight for this season and he's starting to score more now.
At least you're ripping on him for the correct reasons. Steals? WTF? :rolly
I wonder why the Rockies need another catcher? They are probably going to trade or release Charles Johnson but they have prospect J.D. Closser and a decent backup in Todd Greene.
