obviously it's something to discuss, but when you think about it, this whole thing is laughable. The state will significantly help build a new park, while they have another a short distance away in perfectly fine condition?

Or Jerry Reinsdolrf is going to spend a billion or two of his own money building the park? C'mon. man.

I don't think it's that laughable, Jerry is looking at liberty media's money printer in atlanta. I don't care if he's old, he likes this stuff, and real estate is much more his passion, honestly maybe even more than union busting.

  2. This is all great news. South Loop residential demos I'd guess skew older (I have no data there), and so I wonder how things shift if something like this gets introduced in the area.

Reggies ...has to be thrilled right? Feels like they would become the de facto sox bar.

  3. That was extremely fortunate for Eberflus. I can't say he will be the best coordinator out of that group, as Zac Robinson or Coen could easily show up and storm the league a la Slowik and Canales.

But he has actual, successful playcalling experience with a cast that wasn't inevitable. I thought Seattle would be the worst team in the league last year. They made the playoffs. I thought Bucs would be worst team in the league this year, they made the playoffs.

One was led by Waldron, the other came to the bucs from working underneath Waldron.

Maybe we find Canales was Waldron's secret sauce, since the Seahawks did regress. It's possible. To my eyes at the stats, it looks like the Seahawks OL was terrible, and maybe John Schneider just never was great at that but had Russ to bail him out.

I think most likely thing we find out - the difference between a Good OC and a Bad OC is not that large. We'll still be frustrated often, until our personnel group turns to becoming truly overwhelming.

Pretty sure that Jerry doesn't have a lot of owner friends left either. He tried to block this commish and lost big time. He's voted against many of these ownership groups too.  There could well be a fair amount of spite votes, and I think it takes 75% yes to move.

Eh owners don’t seem to f*** with others nest egg once they are in the crew.

  5. Aaron Leming had a great tweet about how Zac Robinson and Liam Coen seem like guys that would go to other teams and be like Slowik and Canales, but if they went to the bears they’d be just another run of Nagy/Getsy.

Bears fans have been so quick to compliment, rightfully so, LaFleurs offense recently. Makes me have greater respect for what Eberflus saw in that offense when he nabbed Getsy.

At the time we hired Nagy, we had no idea he “developed” the greatest modern QBs first year.

These would be profiles that I’d be so pumped for to hire now. Yet we seem to pull the few examples of guys who cannot actually lead what they were taught.

Id guess this is why we should value that Waldron and Others had called plays prior. But man I wish we could actually hit on one of these guys on the way up for once.

I am kind of excited by the OC process so far. Really Olsen and Roman (if you draft a new qb) are the only two candidates I don’t want as OC. But I am good with Olsen / Roman as qb coach and run game coordinator.

I ripped Kingsbury as HC forever but the concept and idea of him as an OC is really growing on me. And if nothing else / they should get some good intel on Caleb, but more importantly he has done a lot of innovative things on offense, has tons of experience calling plays, has had at least some success creating successful nfl offenses (yes he also was HC for some epic Eagle like end of season collapses).

He also just spent a year with an offensive guru in Lincoln Riley.

I like Greg Olson, personally, he's had a really interesting last few stops.

But there are a few others I don't like: Marcus Brady and Thomas Brown. The offense got worse when Brown took over again, so I just don't see how we could justify it. Same with Brady.

And yeah, no thanks to Roman.

Still surprised we've not re-contacted Pep Hamilton but maybe he doesn't want to get passed over twice here.

  7. There is nothing more Rick Hahn than getting us all excited because he traded for someone he saw high on the scouting sites only to find out their value has started to crater.

Our system reminds me of that terrible movie unbreakable with Bruce Willis. Basically our PD just explodes class after class of prospect and occassionally we find these super human players like schultz and montgomery who can still succeed in that chaos.

So I'm sure we'll turn Quero's stock back around. Just a matter of time for Jacob.

  8. I will zag. He didn't deserve to be a head coach. The cardinals also had the worst GM ever over that guy. He just spent a year under one of the most innovative offensive minds in the sport, who NFl coaches flock to every offseason.

He might explain how he can bring that experience into the nfl where he can focus only on offense. I think it's worth a listen.

I checked McNeil's twitter and it's there. I'm not sure if he still has sources anymore, but if I were Harbaugh and picking between the Chargers or Falcons, I'd pick the Chargers too just based on the roster situation. One team has a QB and one doesn't.

Heh, well falcons roster is pretty good outside QB…and he could pick a certain boy he knows

The longer they take the lesser the options become, as the HOF coaches start to get their jobs and build their staffs

Tough though because the new rule where no in person interviews until next week may make it a holdup. They may have decided on Klint Kubiak but he'd be tied up in playoffs.

In a perfect world, they draft the right QB at 1, secure their LT at No. 9, and use the hopeful 2nd they get back from Fields to get a WR to complement DJ. You try and sign someone like Andre James at C in free agency, and fill in the rest of your holes in the draft. But they'd have a well rounded team with those moves, all of which seem pretty realistic. The only thing still missing is another edge rusher, which again could be done in FA.

One of the twitter people pointed out how much the OCs we are interviewing (sans roman) rely on 3 WR sets which we couldn't really with our personnel post Claypool (which was also a disaster). We have to get a better WR room. I think this is an awesome class, but without a current 2nd round pick, that second first looms large.

If we get an established guy...like Higgins, then awesome. He's very likely to be franchise tagged though.
