  1. QUOTE (daggins @ Nov 29, 2014 -> 10:05 PM) Yeah this seems like its dead. Maybe for tonight.
  2. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 29, 2014 -> 09:42 PM) How are you not double teaming him at this point? Alabama only throws his way. Seriously. One on one coverage with no safety help over the top? Ya touchdown.
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 29, 2014 -> 09:34 PM) That is just an awful call in the Bama-Auburn game. No way you can say Auburn player had possession on that play. Ya but it's against Alabama so shh.
  4. QUOTE (ptatc @ Nov 29, 2014 -> 08:43 PM) I'm ok with it, depending on the deal. I'm starting to lean this way too. I'd obviously like to hold onto him if at all possible but the more I think about it, the more I'm willing to trade him.
  5. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Nov 29, 2014 -> 06:19 PM) So Montas was the PTBNL w/ Avi? He wasn't a ptbnl, he was part of the deal along with Avi, Rondon and Wendelken.
  6. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Nov 29, 2014 -> 06:12 PM) Also just to clarify, Montas is the guy the Sox just got for... Dunn? Isn't he projected more as a late inning guy and not a starter? Montas was part of the Peavy deal. Has a ridiculous arm and had a real good albeit it short season last year. You're thinking of Nolan Sanburn.
  7. I say this every week now but this FSU team is so f***in annoying. Ga Tech is going to get them next week.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 29, 2014 -> 05:27 PM) Anyone in the org who has been named, Semien or Anderson, is a guy who could help us right now and in the long term. A qualifying offer pick, a 2nd rounder, has a very poor chance of even getting to AA, or even reaching as far as Semien has gotten. On top of that, our 2nd rounder this year is probably 4-ish years away. A 2nd rounder in 2017 is someone we might think about seeing in 2020-2021. This is not a help in rebuilding. A comp pick is a tiny value compared to a AA level minor leaguer or a guy who is close to reaching the big leagues. They're years away and if they were going to be present in the near future they'd be a first rounder. None of this makes a case to me about this being anything other than a huge rebuilding setback and a very poor idea. "We can spend the money next year" is accurate but it's just silly - why give up a guy who could contribute to our roster for 6 years for a sandwich pick and 1 year of a #3 pitcher if you're not 100% ready to compete this year? If we'd spent $70 million on Victor Martinez and $100 million on Hanley Ramirez to fill our corner OF spot, fine, Samardija would fit with that. That's "all in, we're winning this year". Instead, giving up guys we have long term control over for a sandwich pick, that's backwards. If we trade for Shark then that signals we're 100 percent ready to compete this year. The fact that you add a top of the rotation starter while only adding 9.5 mill or so is absolutely huge as it still allows you to make other moves and that's if Oakland doesn't pick up some of that salary.
  9. FSU-UF is guaranteed to come down to a last minute FSU drive to win it.
  10. I'm not saying I'd do this but another thing I'll throw out there is if Oakland picks up Shark's 10 or so million this season that we might throw in some higher level guys. That would basically have the Sox putting together an elite level rotation while still having at least 20 mill to spend. Like I said, just throwing that out there.
  11. QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 29, 2014 -> 01:59 PM) But if Samardzija is willing to sign an extension with the Sox does that entitle the A's to a better return? They own one year of Samradzija's rights so that is what we would be trading for. I am inquiring, but I really don't think that's something that would allow for a larger/more talented package going to Oakland. It would be nice... if only Samardzija was willing to strong arm his boss for the Sox best interest. If they allow you a window pre-trade to discuss an extension then I think so. If you get it done, Anderson is the centerpiece, if not then you're looking at a different package of players. Obviously I have no idea but just throwing s*** out there.
  12. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 29, 2014 -> 01:51 PM) Anderson and Rodon better be far away from this package. Rodon isn't going anywhere but if the Sox are able to get an extension done with Shark(which I highly doubt would happen) then I absolutely think Anderson would be on the table.
  13. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Nov 29, 2014 -> 01:44 PM) Merkin now says White Sox would try to extend Shark before dealing for him. And that's where Anderson does come in play.
  14. I might be Marcus' biggest fan but if he's one of the guys they want, I'll drive him to the airport(no I wont). I wonder what else it would take?
  15. This is definitely a scary and exciting rumor. I don't want to give up Anderson for a rental but I would start a package with any of our other top prospects(Rodon not included). We'd get a top line starter and because he'd only be making 9.5 mill or so we'd still have some good money to spend.
  16. QUOTE (Baron @ Nov 29, 2014 -> 01:17 PM) Well no...the Sun Times article says there is talk and it could be at the serious stage. Interesting. Thank you, sir.
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 29, 2014 -> 01:12 PM) Brian is still mad at me for spoiling The Flash for him Lol. QUOTE (scs787 @ Nov 29, 2014 -> 01:12 PM) Tim Anderson is sad. Did someone get him a tissue?
  18. well we know the injury stuff is true, we know the Ryback stuff is true, we know the HHH stuff is true. He's bitter but if he was just tryin to make wwe look bad he would have came out with this stuff a while ago. He might be exaggerating a few things but I believe what he said.
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 29, 2014 -> 07:59 AM) All I am gonna say is if WWE can reconcile with Bret Hart, anything can happen. Doesn't look likely, but let's be honest here, this would make tons of money for all Doors are never closed in pro wrestling. I think Punk might be the guy that's most likely to be gone forever but like you said when there's a lot of money to be made by both parties than there's always a chance. The thing is, he says he doesn't love pro wrestling anymore but he will again, he's just completely burned out on it. He'll want to wrestle again, it'll just be interesting if his ego allows him to do it in the E.

  22. Rosenthal says the deal the A's are discussing doesn't involve Samardzija.
