  1. Granted he made one of the errors, he must have felt alone on an island tonight. They sounded really ugly on radio too. LOL

  7. I agree that the Marte trade was a good one for the Sox. That said, Guerrier has struggled at AAA this year after being injured in ST and starting late. His numbers are a bit misleading though due to limited starts and one really horrible one. (3.1IP 9H 9 ER 3BB) In his other starts, he's been decent, but not horrible, nor great.
  8. Perhaps, but do you want a guy coming to the Majors that walks 4-5 guys a game in 5-6 innings in AA starts? I have confidence he will do what needs to be done to solve it.
  9. Speaking of Glover, when is the last time that guy has pitched? Am I missing him in the boxscores everyday??
  10. The thing I don't get is everybody seeming to believe that Paulie called out Frank for a lack of performance. If my recollection serves me correctly, Paulie called Frank out because he wasn't acting like a team player. He was b****ing about being benched and was late for stretching (or skipped it) and refused to stay on the bench during a game or something. I don't recall all the details and frankly (no pun intended) I don't think the details matter. Paulie basically said that he and his teammates thought Frank was being selfish and not thinking about how his actions affected the team. I am paraphrasing of course. Personally, I don't see a problem with Paulie being honest about it, but the problem was it happened right at the All-Star break where the media is magnified. Yes, PK should have confronted Frank, and maybe he did. I don't know that for sure. If you have a problem with PK doing what he did, then I think that is fair. I personally do think it was as big of an issue as it was blown up to be, but I respect anyone who disagrees and think PK should have kept his mouth shut. I just think people are making it sound like PK was on a witch hunt or in a power struggle, and I didn't see it that way. I think he was just honest about how he felt Frank was acting.
  11. Don't forget Munoz. He's ready as well.
  12. Cotts knows how to pitch. He moves the ball in and out, up and down. He keeps hitters off balance and is good at coming up with a big pitch in a great location to get the strikeout. A negative of all the strikeouts is he goes deep into counts with most hitters, giving him a higher pitch count than most pitchers. His longest outing this year has been 6 2/3. Most of his outings have been in teh 5 or 6 inning range. When he finds a way to go deeper into games without losing the edge he has (even if that means a few less strikeouts), he could be quite dangerous down the road.

  16. I read the piece... nowhere did I get the idea that BJ would be our next manager. Based on the premise of the column, you could say that Backman coujld fit into the mod he described, however.

Maybe next time I am feeling clairvoyant!

Would I have had any takers?
  19. Too bad it doesn't get you answers.
  20. I can live with that if you can.
  21. Get off that bandwagon! It didn't work once, what makes you think it would work the second time??
  22. I just don't think Biddle would have been given the same role and chance as White. I really don't think you can compare the two. I think Rocky needed a change of scenery and has benefitted from it. I really don't think Rock was ever going to have great success with the Sox.
  23. Don't rule out Sanders. He is kind of hidden this year in the role he is in. Not getting regular work is tough. Keep in mind, they work very hard to make sure that a Minor League reliever doesn't go more than 2-3 days without working. They almost schedule relievers on certain days (some orgs more so than others). Not getting to pitch as often makes adjustments necessary and it is natural for a pitcher to struggle in that "last guy out of the pen" role. I am confident that Sanders will be right in that mix.
  24. Told ya you'd get your wish, HSC. LOL
  25. I believe he is saying that he is not going to answer his question since he took a high and mighty attitude. I'd also be curious to know who else is on his list of "s*** players that the Sox have acquired", just to see if his opinion means anything to me. If someone like Jimenez is on that list, his comments carry no weight. To me that sounds condescending as hell and I wouldn't answer it either. Questions can be asked in many ways, and that was certainly not asked in the best possible manner to elicit a positive response. Not positive, but I am just guessing that is the stance Josh was taking. Can't say I wouldn't have taken it as well.
