I got you a Babe bobblehead.

I can't argue with you there Jim. Joe seems to have regressed since the 2001 season in Birmingham where he was excellent. The long swing was still there, but you figured on him to fix that without losing ground.

Anybody like this deal?
Josh, I believe Gavin Floyd was the real catch in the proposed deal. Which is why Philly would never make that trade.

ok so how did we really do in LA?
Sox scored a run in the top of the first for Buehrle and none after that.

Minor League Boxes for Sunday
I like Hankins as a player, but I fear he is the kind of guy that will always get passed up by guys with better "tools" or "bigger bonuses". His skills are marginal for a corner infielder. He doesn't have much power and although his defense is solid, it is not Gold Glove caliber to boost his worth. He will be a guy that will have to outperform others to get the same chances. Remember guys like Jeff Abbott, Jeff Inglin, and Mario Valdez (just to name a few) were great Minor League hitters too.

I guess Minor Leaguers are different because there is less media. They have them posted everywhere..... LOL

You want more y ou say??? Thomas caught fire. Buehrle is now 2-9 yet pitched more than well enough to win (surprise, surprise) Bart with a CG Loaiza now 9-2

Thomas to Stay at First
Why does Frank sound so reluctant?? Is he afraid he can't handle 1B and would embarass himself? Doesn't sound very reluctant to me. And he's only made 1 bad play since being moved over there, so I doubt he's afraid he'll embarass himself. Said a somewhat reluctant Thomas: "That's OK. I don't think it will be every day." Sounds reluctant to me.

I was just about to ask how many pictures of naked chicks (Playboy usually, with some partially clad women from Maxim right behind) you saw?

The Barons do the same, only on a game night for Scouts. They have a night for Boy Scouts and a different one for Girl Scouts. Played the movie The Rookie this year, I believe. I have had some friends and their kids camp out and they love it.

He ain't Anduw Jones or Tori Hunter, but even those guys aren't on some days. Now Brando, I disagree with you a lot, so this may not come as a surprise, but I am willing to bet you any amount of money that Andruw Jones is Andruw Jones everday. Ditto for Torii Hunter. Even on the days they aren't playing and don't have their names on their backs, I am still willing to bet they don't change identities. ;-)

For the time being, I agree. I said as soon as Borchard was called up that he would find his own after he is sent back to Charlotte. I stand by that.

Sox Sign Their 3rd Round Pick
Don Mattingly learned to hit with power after he reached the Majors and never bulked up. Hitting with power can be a learned thing, not all about bulking up. Hey, I don't have a time machine either, Socco, but I am going with odds. Both Pierzinki and Piazza are 6'2 yet neither are nowhete near being Gold Glove and I believe Mike was about 195 when he came into the league. This was before my time, so I am not sure. I still say Joe is 230 by the time he is Pierzinki's age and is starting have recurring problems, whether knee, back or other. Time will tell. Also, as he stars hitting for power, he's OBP will take a slide. Alomar Lite in his prime is what this kid will be in 3-4 years. I hope. You're going way out on a limb, predicting knee problems for a catcher!
