  1. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 11:59 AM) Just a few injuries and .500 might become a challenge. I'm hoping the team stays healthy. I'm just praying that this team stays healthy for the rest of the year also.
  2. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 11:55 AM) We are not in the playoffs until are magic number is 0.
  3. Garland is doing extremely well this year, but he isn't our ace. It is without a doubt Buehrle.
  4. Don't be to cocky. Remember what has happened the last two years. There is still alot of baseball left.
  5. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) I still say it's a mistake to underestimate the kind of year Crede could have , THIS YEAR. Yes, Joe Crede had a Godawful May. Absolutely horrid. Worthy of being benched. But when's the last time you looked at his performance the other 2 months this year? BA/OBP/Slug/OPS April: .304 .368 .456 .824 2 HR June: .315 .383 .593 .976 4 HR If he avoids falling into another May at any point this year, he'll hit .290 at this rate. How long has that been said. He could hit this year, he could hit next year. He's not a good hitter.
  6. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 11:12 AM) well a trade is a trade isn't it? i would like to see baseball shorten the season a month so the playoffs aren't played in extreme cold & add a best of five game all-star week to determine the worldseries home team! The AL vs NL allstars just isn't played out enough IMO. :headshake
  7. Hell yeah 10 game lead over the twinkies!
  8. I would like both of them to make it to the all star game, but i wouldn't want them to start because some freak accident can happen and ruin the second half of the season for us.
  9. Kid Gleason because he was manager for our last world series winning team.
  10. QUOTE(Rohan @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 04:38 PM) Sure, 86-89 MPH.. But what's his change up speed? It's in the upper 50's isn't it? That's a HUGE drop that's quiet efficient.. Probaly uppper 50's to mid 60's. That's the best i remember seeing it.
  11. QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 04:39 PM) i know your not Ok then .
  12. QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 04:28 PM) i dont see why everyone keeps shooting down the whole idea, he could alternate starts with duque, giving them both rest and both could throw a little session in the bullpen, IMO, it would work I'm not shooting down that idea. I'm just saying i wouldn't get to excited if we got him, that's all.
  13. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 04:31 PM) I agree, which is probably why KW had a guy there to watch him. Yeah that would be my guess to. But if we aquired him, what do you think it would cost us. I know that he was traded for Keilty, but on our team, who do you think it would take for us to get Lilly.
  14. QUOTE(Rohan @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 04:22 PM) Yeah shingo's really gotten his act together... The scary thing is where would we be without Hermanson through all this. I mean cotts and politte and marte are doing great. But if Hermanson has really stepped up and taken a powerful closer spot.. hopefully shingo can continue to get his act together and not pitch 86 MPH fast balls down the middle OR walk everyone on the opposing team... The highest i saw his fastball today was at 89 MPH. It looked alot faster on TV to me.
  15. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 03:59 PM) Don't the Sox need someone who can start giving Konerko a break at first...someone whose name is not Timo? And what about making a play for Lowe from the Dodgers? They are so done. They need a 3B in a big way. Why not move Crede and an arm to the Dodgers and then look to make a deal for Randa with prospects? Just a thought...but if we had Lowe in the rotation...oh boy, that would be scary. I say no to Derek Lowe.
  16. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 04:24 PM) Before this gets into all the fantasy trade deals, let's get back to reality. There was a media report linking the sox to Lilly. Let's look at the reasoning behind the sox looking at him, instead of the pie in the sky crap It's not to get a top of the line SP. It's for a 5th SP type. I wouldn't be dissapointed if we got Lilly, but I wouldn't be estatic either. He is a decent pitcher, and could help us out if we aquried him.
  17. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 09:10 AM) Here is my line up prediction... Ozuna-SS Iguchi-2B Thomas-DH Konerko-1B Everett-LF Rowand-CF Dye-RF Crede-3B Widger-C I think that this will be the line up. Give Pods and AJ the day off, and load the lineup with right handed batters vs. the LHP. Lets finish off the Royals.
  18. QUOTE(Southside hitmen @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 09:11 AM) If the Sox were to make the playoffs I dont see any AL team beating us If the Sox were to make it to the playoffs, i think they would have a good chance to make it far in the playoffs(ALCS,WS).
  19. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 09:11 AM) This can only be bad for me. Thinking of Oswalt on the Sox is going to drive me nuts, and I won't be able to think of much else. And to Southside Hitmen, how do you know the Twins are going after Burroughs? Why would it drive you nuts?
  20. QUOTE(Southside hitmen @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 09:03 AM) I was listening to the score yesterday Boers&Bernstein said that the Sox would be the underdogs in the playoffs.. :headshake Why are they already talking about playoffs? There is 3 months left of the regular season still.
  21. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 08:25 AM) Maybe he is being showcased for Billy Beane??? I could see that being a possibility for why brandon will start in oakland.
  22. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 09:41 PM) If we win tomorrow and the Twins lose we'll have a 10 game lead. That's right double f***ing digits. That would kick ass, but nine games up isn't that bad either.
