QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 01:50 PM) Or Sosa is going to get another call and they will offer him a bit more money. :puke ^^^^ my guess. 1 year 1 mil :puke -
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 1, 2006 -> 06:38 PM) good riddance.

Domincan is so deep in hitting they can afford some players withdrawing. Pitching is a little questionable. I still go with DR.

QUOTE(Be Good @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 11:19 PM) Long term this would be terrible for teams like Indy. The rich owners would benefit more if there was no cap: Cowboys, Redskins, Seahawks, Giants, Dolphins and of course many more Bears

2006 White Sox Ticket Sales @ US Cellular Field

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 11:53 AM) Because they're projections of sellouts and not necessarily confirmed sellouts? exactly, We will get a lot of bandwagoners with the walk up crowd, if we lose they won't come. Simple as that. -

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 12:29 PM) My money is on Kenny. Frank is bigger, but he seems like a sissy. Kenny has a mean streak that Frank doesn't seem to have. I would definitely buy a ticket. you're full of s*** and you know it. -

Vince Young wonderlic score FALSE

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 06:53 PM) Not quite, here is a list of players that scored under a 18 in the past. Vince Wilfork Larry Fitzgerald Roy Williams Reggie Williams Kevin Jones Tatum Bell Julius Jones Vernon Carey Travelle Wharton Karlos Dansby Chris Gamble Ahmad Carroll Dunta Robinson Vontez Duff Sean Taylor Keneche Udeze Tommie Harris Tank Johnson Those are just some notable names from the last few years. Some of the numbers are just scary. Especially the amount of Miami players on the list, I didn't even add about 5 names of there guys, sad. Maybe it's just me, but I think it's a BIGGER deal when a qb scores under an 18. -
Everyone on CUBUNE live on comcast thinks frank will be booed when he gets back. :rolly I bet cub fans love everything going on with Frank/Kw. The lovable Sammy's image was tarnished with cheating. Arguably the greatest Cub ever. Now they will gladly watch us boo the greatest Sox ever. Not me. I will cheer him every at bat.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 04:06 PM) Not true about me. I've said atleast 600 times that Frank is no angel. Yeah, Frank really is no angel. Though, I have seen his words get twisted around a lot the last 10 years. Frank is very vulnerable when it comes to the media. When he talks , he says the wrong things. When he ignores the media, it comes out as ignoring the fans. I don't know what was going on behind closed doors. I do know, every time I came down to the ball park, I would look down and see Frank always signing before the game, talking to the fans and not belittleing the fans because he is a big star ( I have seen it happen with some of the biggest names in chicago sports). Frank treats the fans well, as a fan, I will always support him. -

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 04:04 PM) And you fickle fans that want to act like a guy wasn't s*** because he unfortunately wasn't able to be part of a magical title run are even more comical. Will somebody please pull up some of the old "fire Kenny" threads from last September? To mock all the ass kissers here -

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 03:52 PM) How many times did Bengie Molina say those things? Was it repeatedly? Frank Thomas started throwing the s***, KW finally answered back, and now Thomas is the bigger man because he's not going to respond. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 08:15 AM) it looks like the old man needs the bat to hold him up. ... poor guy
-
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 08:32 PM) I said neither. Frank was never "The White Sox" like he was to some of you. I was at the game against the Halos this year, I believe his first game back, and game him a standing O like everyone else, but there was a difference. He was a White Sox. Now I have said in the past that I will stand up and cheer for Willie, Blum, Carl, ect when they come back, and but they also contributed to a World Series winner. Frank did not. I will not boo, but I will also not get off my seat to cheer. I will however let out a big "Hell ya!" when Mark K's his ass. Frank Helped us get to the Playoffs. Without his clutch Hr's , Blum and Willie may have not had a chance to even play in the playoffs.
-
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 08:47 PM) That would've worked as well. I still think it would've been better to have a face to face sit down. A meesage on voicemail just doesn't cut it. If we're talking Geoff Blum, fine. But the greatest player in franchise history deserves a little more than that. Yes.. Thank you.. This is the main thing I just don't understand. KW at least owed that phone call for us fans who have bought Frank Jerseys, merchandise, camped out 5 hours at soxfest to get his autograph.
-
QUOTE(SnB @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 05:38 PM) If by 'fan' you mean thinking 'Frank can do no wrong', then yes you're right. Frank's comments this offseason have been ridiculous, I really don't understand how you can say 'they haven't been that bad' His comments weren't that bad. Had he called KW an idiot , then I would disagree with wsj.
-
QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 05:37 PM) I think that too. Frank's stuff reads like whining, sure, but he sure as hell doesn't call anyone an idiot. He's careful to say he still respects everyone involved, including Jerry. Btw, since when does Reinsdorf need KW to speak for him? Since, of course, that's what Kenny was most upset about... If Reinsdorf wants to go to the press about it, let's hear it from him. Frank: I think things should have been handled differently. Kenny: Frank's a f***ing idiot. Those look similar to you? Ozzie says that Frank never mentioned his name. But Frank did -- in mentioning Ozzie's similar statements when he left. So Kenny, is Ozzie a selfish idiot too? ^^^ Exactly, Frank never attacked anyone.
-
QUOTE(aboz56 @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 03:45 PM) Frank, you are finished. Just admit and retire. You weren't disrespected by the Sox at all. You are dilusional. Shut the f*%k up and quit talking about the White Sox. You are NO LONGER apart of the organization. We've moved on to bigger and BETTER things like Jim Thome. We won a ring without you. You're simply mad about that and refuse to admit that you are no longer a productive, everyday major league baseball player. You say you are in your prime? That is without a doubt the absolute funniest thing I have heard ALL offseason.
-
I actually have more respect for Frank after reading this. The guy wanbts to play until he is 41 , he obviously loves the game a big deal. Frank does deserve a lot more than what he received. We let our greatest Hitter of all time go for a 35 year old Thome. I'd be pissed too if I were Frank. It's not like we replaced him with Pujols. We replaced him with someone who will make 7 times as much and cost a lot of talent to get. Why not sign frank to that 1 million dollar contract with incentives? Sign someone like Durazo and Platoon them if need be. Instead we trade Rowand and 2 great prospects for someone who might not put better numbers up than Frank. Frank, Rowand, Gio,Haigwood >>> Thome I mean, I can understand if Thome never got hurt too, but this guy is 35 and missed most of last year not hitting his weight. I think everyone is getting a little too excited for Thome IMO.
