  2. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Feb 1, 2006 -> 10:56 PM) Me and my wife celebrate Valentines day usually the week or so after the actual day. I bought her flowers the first year we were dating on valentines and she nearly killed me when she found out how much they cost. Her comment was that its a waste of time spending 3 times as much for items that you can get at another time for normal cost. Just remember people Valentines Day and Sweetest Day are 2 days a year. If you treat your wife/girlfriend/significant other great all the time, and keep the romance alive you dont have to go broke on these days to keep in good graces. It really makes a difference when you have kids. I have my inlaws watching our son here and there so we can still go to dinner from time to time, go to a movie, get out. Getting out once in a while alone is worth more than some chocolates and flowers once a year. You're such a pimp

  11. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 11:01 PM) Indeed... 1.) Rally Crede's walkoff vs. Indians 2.) Pierzynski's walkoff vs. Dodgers 3.) Dye's walkoff vs. Angels Rowand's homer against Trevor Hoffman and the Padres was pretty sweet as well. I guess I don't rank the division clincher against the Tigers up there because we all knew it was going to happen sooner or later. How do you know about Rally Crede? Didn't you join Oct 4?
  12. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 10:56 PM) IMO the rally crede game was the best just because of when it came. Rally crede game hands down. We needed that one so bad.
  13. I think Ozzies comments about munoz might wake him up.
  14. Tampa and the O's are still open. Spots fill up fast. It's free! You dont need experience. You just have to be one who loves being in a position as a gm. here is the waiting list. http://s14.invisionfree.com/DPBL/index.php?showtopic=133
  15. we have 3 openings, Philly, Tampa and Baltimore for the 2007 season. Post on the messasge board if you are interested. We have close to 20 people from soxtalk in the league. First come First served! http://s14.invisionfree.com/DPBL/index.php?act=idx
  16. Makes me wonder if analysts get paid off by interested NFL teams to talk down on Players they are interested in so they can nab them with a later pick. Anyone remember Rick Pitino's smoke screen with Antoine Walker? Even though he coached him at Kentucky the year before , he talked pretty negative about him before the draft. When his team boston was up to pick, pitino and the celtics chose Walker.
  17. I would never root against the sox winning. But, I will root for Frank every at bat even against the Sox. Bottom of the 9th Tie Game, , bases loaded 2 outs, Would probably be the rare circumstance I hope He popped it up. I would probably hope for a inning ending catch at the warning track in that situation. What about everyone else?
  18. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 05:39 PM) You do realize that if Frank had NOT rushed back in 2005 it is likely the Indians would have won the division & the White Sox might not have even won the WC. The team had gone into an offensive slump (Everett & Kong) & Thomas' return reinvigorated the offense. Likewise when Thomas went down in late July the team went back into an offensive slump & the pitching got a little rocky. As for an Oct return I think Kenny did the right thing. Thomas could have risked any chance of playing in 2006 or worse a career-ending injury if he had tried to pull a Gibson. I realize Frank will never see it that way because he feels he could have contributed in the post season but Kenny likely saved his 2006 season with the A's by saying no to Oct. BINGO Frank has every right to express how he was handled. I feel his pain. I watched that guy the last 16 years and now they dump him like this? Frank has every right to open his mouth.
