Who will join Neal Cotts as the second lefty reliever in our bullpen? Make your pick.

I think Ozzies comments about munoz might wake him up.

Hoping and praying for Steven Randolph...just cuz he's a crazy bastard.

His control is even crazier -- 119 BB's in 141.2 career IP. :puke

There is a good chance that it will be none of them.

Not according to KW's comments at SoxFest. Who do you think it will be?

None. We'll go into the year with 1 lefty.

Not with Ozzie as our manager. He loves playing the lefty-lefty game.

I was thinking the same thing. I'll take Munoz. God I can't wait until spring training.

Im hoping Munoz can be the guy.... but if none of them impress I have no problem sticking lets say Baj in the last spot.

I'll take Corwin Malone since I like the name. But I'll probably CorLose this one.

If I had to pick one I would say Munoz.

At this stage, I'd probably say Munoz.

But I wouldn't still rule out a trade. A team like Seattle who had 4 lefties in the majors in 2005, could be a possible trading partner.

This one will be a battle. It's the number two lefty, not critical, but every spot is important. I'm guessing Ozzie goes with his gut and doesn't pick Munoz.

I would hope Munoz would win. Lefties don't touch him and he can work in that role and graudally take on more responsibilities.

Lopez with his submarine delivery can be a Kelly Wunsch for us. But I like having a home grown talent fill that up. Munoz has the edge but I like Malone and doesnt Reynoso throw his fastball about low 90's.

Well after seeing Ozzie comments about Munoz, I would kiss him good-bye. I have got to imagine that it is between the two new guys, or they wouldn't have brought them in the first place if they though an inhouse guy could handle it.

Who is this Javier Lopez guy? I've never heard of him. Anyway, I don't like Munoz much(but I say he's the guy who wins). I hope Reynoso, Malone or Lopez win, though I know jack about Lopez.

If Malone is fully healed and shows some control.... id love to have him there he could be a stud in the bullpen.

It's silly to think that again, because of the "need" to have a second lefty, that Jeff Baj might miss out on starting out the season in the White Sox's bullpen.

Of course, after this weekend hearing Kenny pretty much guarantee that another lefty will make the bullpen, it's certainly believable.

Right now, the bullpen shakes out with Cotts, Jenks, Politte, McCarthy, and Hermanson. I'd rather they go with only 11 pitchers, as most time, that 12th (and even 11th, sometimes) is a waste. Really -- how much more confidence would one of us have putting in a guy like Chad Bentz, Arnie Munoz, or Javy Lopez, rather than Baj or Sean Tracey?

I'm hoping the 11th bullpen spot goes to one of the last two guys, Bajenaru or Tracey. It seems like the organization is moving towards putting Tracey in the bullpen, as Chisoxfn (among others) has been saying/predicting for a while.

Taking only 11 pitchers also allows for another spot on the bench. Ideally, I'd say, Joe Borchard and Ross Gload.

I am not so sure about that. It seems that all of Ozzie's pointed comments are done with more of a purpose than we realize (such as comments about Anderson's defense a couple months ago). I saw what he said about Munoz' heart and I interpreted it as Munoz being the guy Guillen wants to step up and win the job outright. The time to worry about a player is when Guillen starts to rave about him. That is usually followed up with a trade out of town.

Good post. As I was reading this thread, the same thought came to me. Ozzie was 'motivating' with that comment. We'll see if Arnie can step up and meet the challenge.

None of these guys.

Munoz got torn a new one at Soxfest by Ozzie. I was actually standing right behind the guy who asked the question.

You could see a minor trade in ST to pick up a veteran lefty or you may just see Cotts as the lone lefty.

If I had to pick from these guys, I'd go with Reynoso if he could ever learn to command his pitches.

As much as I like Baj as far as being a good guy and from what he does around here, I think he could have a tough time making the team.

Every time he's been seen in the majors, he's pretty much gotten lit up.

His ceiling to me is the 24th or 25th guy on the roster.

As far as your comment on Tracey, he seems to walk too many guys to start the season in the majors. Jason has man love for him of course, so I'll take his word on the fact that the guy has talent. If he can cut down his walks, I think he can be helpful. My guess is he starts the season in Charlotte.
