  1. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 31, 2005 -> 02:02 AM) Don't be such a f***ing pussy. LOL seriously. We all have our great el stories!
  2. 4. Conclusion First of all, I’m happy to say that this table, in general, conforms to what I expected with a few exceptions (Minaya, Williams, Sabean, DePodesta), meaning it conforms to Bill James’ 80/20 rule and more importantly, that I’m likely on the right track. While winning GMs are generally near the top, and losing GMs are generally near the bottom, this was expected as good GM’s are going to put together better teams, and there are, again, some exceptions (Shapiro, Minaya, Depotesta, Stoneman, Cashman) which prove the rule.
  3. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ May 31, 2005 -> 12:32 AM) I was at the game today and when we gave Frank that standing O- i got goosebumps. Definitely a great moment in White Sox history. Welcome back Frank. Hopefully your hip thing aint serious and hopefully he didn't return to the lineup too soon. Yeah the place went nuts!!!!! My little sister was in the fundamentals section and had a 'welcome back frank' sign and were on the scoreboard like 4 times. I was just happy everyone welcomed him back the way they did.
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 30, 2005 -> 10:39 PM) He's only 60 years old. The guy looks like he's in his 80s. Born April 9th 1945. Holy s***? 60? I hate to see what he will look like at 80. I have an Idea:
  5. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:33 PM) As of now, it appears as if there will be four teams from the AL Central and AL West that will all be deserving of a playoff spot. Since there can only be three teams representing the AL Central and the AL West, which team misses the playoffs? you are missing Redsox, yanks and O's
  6. QUOTE(Be Good @ May 30, 2005 -> 10:23 PM) Sorry Abooz, kind of like an automatic response for us Sox fan's, he bashed Frank, he must not be a true fan. that's exactly what most of us felt. I also apologize.
  7. Im sure most of you know the story of the wallin family. Today during the game, they had a scoreboard message that read: " To the Wallin family thank you for choosing to be white sox fans" Thought I'd share that. They must have been at today's game.
  8. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 30, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) You act like I hate the guy. This has gotten blown up WAY too much. He is the greatest player in Sox History. Let's leave it at that. I'm sorry . Thier are 3 players I will defend like that. Mark B , Frank, and Arrow. Didn't mean to get on your case. I didn't read this entire thread. Now that I'm reading it I realize enough people got on you.
  9. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 30, 2005 -> 08:43 PM) Questioning me as a true Sox fan? LMAO. You really are a comedian. Name another person who lives over 5 hours away and routinely goes to 10 games per season. I'd like to see that list. It's not long at all. Soxfest? Check. Spring Training? Check. Minor League Games? Check. At the Cell Often? Check. Watch nearly every game in its entirety? Check. Get your facts before making absurd comments. Or maybe grow a bit thicker skin and realize that not everyone slurps Frank Thomas. I love him as a player, don't particularly care for some of the stuff that he has done. Frank has done a lot for the white sox. Sure he has made mistakes. He is human. If you are a true sox fan you should know the media blows up everything that has to do with Frank. This man had season ending injuries that would have been career ending for some. He went through a divorce, the death of his father,loist his business, losing custody of his kids all within a 2-3 year period. Give him a break. I'm just saying as a sox fan you should back up the Greatest sox player to ever live. I'm not saying have his back no matter what he does. What I am saying is... I'm sure their are bill fans who still have OJ's back.
  10. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 30, 2005 -> 06:34 PM) The Big Skirt is hurt already, why am I not surprised? I don't care what reasons you have. NO true sox fan would EVER call Frank that.
  11. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 30, 2005 -> 07:17 PM) So once again, you dislike Frank because of his contract dispute but like a guy (Bobby Jenks) who burned his own pitching arm with a lighter? To each his own, I guess. LOL Bobby jenks burning himself with a lighter is f***ing hilarious!!!
  12. I guess KW must of been a moron for trading this future Johnny Bench!
  13. QUOTE(56789 @ May 30, 2005 -> 08:21 PM) http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws According to that, the attendence today was about 700 more than opening day I'm telling you. I was there. I could not get a seat. Standing room only for a lot of us.
  14. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 30, 2005 -> 06:51 PM) 38,685. I'd say a lot more. I walked up today and had to get standing room only tickets . We were on fundlementals watching the game. Plus the fan deck was prett packed. The concourse was packed too. I'd say a little over 40,000 .
  15. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 29, 2005 -> 04:51 AM) For those of us who want Brad Lidge and Billy Wagner, considering what the Giants gave up for LaTroy, it's definitely going to cost A LOT. The giants simply outbid themselves for latroy. Another reason they overpaid is so the trade can get done NOW rather then July.
  16. QUOTE(soxhawks @ May 28, 2005 -> 07:15 PM) i am so sick and tired of the sox/yanks, who the hell cares I didn't post it because it was BOS vs NY. I could care less. It was because it was 17-1. f***en relax dude.
  17. I see his point. But he's still a whining baby.
  18. ...on state street, that great street......
