  1. Well, I wasn't really expecting to see a thread about it, but I might as well throw it out there to see if anybody else watched the game. It was an excellent World Cup qualifier game today between USA and Mexico played in Mexico with Mexico winning 2-1.
  2. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 02:22 PM) You can't see why Curry's defense and rebounding can't improve? Does the motherf***er look motivated to you? And ain't he in a contract year???? Do I need to post the list of 12+ shooting guards in this league who average more rebounds per game than Curry does? People are actually playing the age card? Outside of death, there's nothing that I fear more in life than bad basketball talk. The lack of recognition in regards to Tyson Chandler's defensive freak status is what disturbs me the most. Again, for like the millionth time, CHANDLER IS NOT AN OFFENSIVE OPTION. His job on offense is to set picks and crash the offensive boards. And for those who are unaware, setting picks and grabbing offensive boards creates offense. When Chandler forces a turnover, that creates offense via the fast break or what have you. It's the little things that win ballgames. So you dislike Curry. We get it. But I'm not too happy about trading a former number one pick for a number two pick that "IS NOT AN OFFENSIVE OPTION." I mean, c'mon, learn a damn offensive move. He looks lost with the ball in his hands. Once again, Eddy being an offensive player allows Chandler to focus on defensive. If the Bulls can secure a viable center who will help them win and be a better option than Curry, than by all means make it happen. If not, then why let him go? Because some Bulls fans hate him? If he improved from last year to this year, he can make some more improvement. There's no rule that says he's going to suck in a non-contract year. The Bulls chose him with a number four pick. Let's not just waste that away. Centers aren't exactly easy to come by, and I only want to see him go if the right moves can be made to take care of that position. Hating on Eddy and glorifying Chandler isn't the best basketball talk either. Both have glaring deficiencies, and, frankly, I'm equally dissatisfied by both of them. I tolerate them when they help us win, and in my eyes what they bring to the team and their deficiencies are essentially equal.
  3. Great site. Those numbers mean nothing to me. I'd rather go by what I see on the court. Othella has been a positive, but those numbers overexaggerate his contributions. He gets the minutes he should be getting for a player of his caliber.
  4. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 01:10 AM) Ben played 29 minutes, scored 20 points, and pulled down 4 rebounds. Tyson played 23 minutes, scored 3 points, and pulled down 7 rebounds. Each has their own role but I know which one I'd rather keep if I had to make a choice. Are you trying to bring logic into this argument? pike > Gordon
  5. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 01:05 AM) Chandler by the way has the best stamina on the team right behind hinrich. He can easily go for 35 minutes per game.... gordon on the other hand has a problem with 30. I don't know what goes through Skiles' head, but I'm guessing he doesn't get those minutes because of his inability to score. It may be argued that it's because we need to utilize davis because of that contract, but Duhon would be the opposing argument. I want to see both Eddy and Tyson playing side-by-side for 35-40+ a game... And Gordon can handle 40+, but we all know his defense is hindering him. Let's not throw in stamina into the discussion.
  6. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 01:02 AM) Yeah, Chandler is as skilled as Garnett. Nice comparison. :headshake Good point. Well, according to krause... :banghead
  7. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 01:00 AM) If you gave him 35 minutes per game he would. So lemme get this straight. He'll eat more and lift more weights if they give him 35 mpg? How about taking a page from the Eddy Curry work ethic book and using the summer to add/lose weight? Yeah, I considered green for that...
  8. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 12:55 AM) Does anyone here know pikes role? high-fives, towel-waves, and hand-claps
  9. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) Wait a second... qwerty dogs on Curry but thinks Pike is a stud? Talk about logical thinking. pike is the willie harris of the Bulls
  10. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 12:46 AM) Offensive move can be taught and learned much easier than defense. Chandler's role has never been to score has it? Ever? You give him the entire summer to work on it you will see a much better improved chandler offensively. Anyway, i will take curry back for half of what he is gonna get next year which will be max or very close to it. You do realize Chandler isn't expected to score because Eddy does, right? Half of the max isn't enough though and you know that. Are we talking about Eddy or pike for that kind of money? I'll take pike back for half of half of what he's getting to high-five the guys as the come to the bench this year. Those are the only highlights I saw of him tonight.
  11. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 12:41 AM) You Eddy fans will do anything to make him look better. I just find it hilarious that a pike fan exists
  12. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 12:40 AM) Do they rebound, block shots, and play good to awesome defense? Yao leaves a lot to be desired too...Shaq is a freak, but only for a couple more years...Big Z is just waiting to suffer his next foot injury.. I saw improvement from Eddy this year, regardless of the inconsistent minutes...I think he can continue to improve...Let's keep him, but for THE RIGHT PRICE.
  13. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 12:38 AM) Wouldn't that make him 4th? You and your minor details... :banghead
  14. I'll just say that Eddy is the 3rd highest scoring true center in the league behind shaq, yao, and z. ilgauskas, and it won't be long before z reinjures a foot...
  15. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 12:32 AM) He is worth the max? Which he will be offered by someone. No, just good enough that some team want him. Let's wait to see if it happens. We don't know if Pax would match that kind of money.
  16. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 12:28 AM) You don't go to college you are a fool ( if you plain on playing basketball). Jermaine o'neal basicallt wasted three years of his life getting paid s*** when he coul have been maturing. Know why he got in shape? Pay day. Should I wait for the edit?
  17. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 12:23 AM) No assists or 3-pointers unfortunately. Curry is really sucking lately. He better start getting some steals or I'm going to hate him. Apparently a platoon of shareef a-r and piatkowski is ideal at the C spot.
  18. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 12:09 AM) 9-11? Good. 0 steals? Bad. 0 blocks? Bad. Six rebounds and getting out rebounded by pargo? Bad. Nice game offensive game nothing else. Far from a monstrous game but maybe for his standards. Since when do centers get steals? And you cannot forget he missed the last part of the 4th with a minor (I think) injury. It may not have been a Polish guy scoring 3 points in 18 minutes, but Eddy's 27 was quite impressive. You're allowed to deny it though.
  19. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 12:03 AM) Please tell me you didn't learn green yet, please The smiley with the tongue wasn't good enough? It would have been in green if there wasn't some truth to it...
  20. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 12:04 AM) Why would a four star recruit be a back up? I think it was referring to their first season, seeing as how "impact" means right away...And their was mention of Cook. It makes sense at the time. Frank was leaving so Dee would essentially start his freshman year with Deron backing him up. I don't know how it went that first year, but it's a decent initial assessment. Who was the starting SG that following year? Does this deserve it's own thread?
  21. The refs allowing the Illini to foul at will had to be the MVP's.
