  1. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 24, 2007 -> 05:52 PM) How can you say that about Raftery? And nice job talking s*** Dorsey, solid 0 points... DAGGGGGGGGEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Big Ten still representin
  2. These announcers are probably the worst yet. And he goes to the bench AND GETS A CUP OF WATERRRRRRRR DAGGERRRRRRRRR Also looks like Memphis spent more time shaving designs into their hair than learning to move their feet.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 24, 2007 -> 12:11 PM) The sad thing is I couldn't tell if you were talking about Tracey or Floyd. At least Floyd has a somewhat repeatable delivery, Tracey reminds me of a little league kid when he holds the ball.
  4. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 23, 2007 -> 07:34 PM) Annoyed that we couldn't even get some sort of mid level prospect for him. Considering the huge needs a lot of teams have bullpen help at the moment, and Tracey is someone who can potentially help a team's pen right now, we should have done better. But it's no suprise he's not here anymore, which is a bit sad when you thnk about it, just because of 1 thing he didn't do. Hes garbage, cant throw strikes or fool anyone at the big league level. His delivery is horrendous.
  5. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 24, 2007 -> 01:43 AM) Good question, and I don't even know the exact answer to that. But hey, if you could get a Steve Trachsel, Byung - Hyung Kim etc. a veteran starter on the cheap e.g none of our top 10 prospects, that's something that could be worth looking at maybe. But that's what we thought about B-Mac. The way he dominated ST in 2005. The way he went through that Texas lineup like a hot knife through butter. And when he got his 1st chance for us that season, he put up an ERA of 8.14 ERA in 5 starts b/w May and July. Now that may not happen with Danks, nobody knows what the future holds. But I think there's a better chance than not and it's been shown with young pitchers who aren't ready yet, that they'll struggle initially. No, they WILL struggle out of the box, but will settle down eventually. Danks especially has shown that trend. but I have supreme confidence in this kids stuff. He can dominate at the major league level, the question is when.
  6. Come on people. it was a competition and a 21 year old stud went out and grabbed the job. How much more encouraging could it be? The kid is ready.
  7. USC may have choked, but they are my team to beat next year. They will be 100 percent better.l
  8. Isnt it funny that when KW says something its considered posturing, but if another GM says something its downright law. Hilarious.
  9. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 23, 2007 -> 04:05 PM) If we traded Garcia for Hirsh-Willy T-Buchholz, people would probably complain just as much. "Willy T is just the Latin Podsednik" "Hirsh belongs in AAA(6.17 ERA this spring,6.04 MLB ERA) "Buchholz is trash" "Wheres our Liriano?" Garcia is garbage, yet we should have received a ton for him.
  10. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 23, 2007 -> 04:57 PM) I'm not looking at it that way. Whether or not Garcia requires surgery, at the time the trade was made, we should have received more. Not really, Freddy has proven he had even less value than we thought. An injured, declining pitcher in his walk year isnt worth a damn. Its really nice to see a 21 year old in Danks go out and take the freaking roster spot. Nothing was handed to him, he decided within himself that he is going to go out and make something of himself, and he sure has. That should be encouraging to everyone on this site.
  11. Later tracey, good luck being frustrated on another team.
  12. 17 year olds look like they are in their mid 20's nowadays though.
  13. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Mar 23, 2007 -> 12:59 PM) Jesus Christ, I'm waiting for Ozzie to manage something correctly for once. Logan is a LOOGY, you use him again lefties only, he's not a longman. Yeah supposedly thats what we ALL saw in him. Of course considering he has been equally effective vs lefties and righties this ST and he has shown that he can pitch for over 1 inning, its not out of the question to think he could be a middle reliever.
  14. QUOTE(WHITESOXRANDY @ Mar 23, 2007 -> 12:54 PM) For this year, I'd rather have Leiber. Leiber is still a decent pitcher that knows how to win. Thats where your argument fell off its axis. Lieber is terrible.
  15. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 23, 2007 -> 11:52 AM) A love story gone bad? shocker. The dog thing was bad enough, but he's a 24 year old chasing a 17 year old. thats legal in some states.
  16. its a good question. IN the paper today it said Ozzie wants Boone to be our long guy and start stretching himself out for that role, so who knows.
  17. The gun at the cubs game topped prior out at 94 mph on one of his fatballs. Of course the scout's guns were totally different saying he sat at 84-86 mph and topped at 88-89. Wonder why their gun was so off??
  18. We already have a younger cheaper Rowand, and Lieber sucks. No way!!!
  19. No. Thorton and MMAC are both more valuable than Lieber and Rowand combined.
  20. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Mar 23, 2007 -> 08:46 AM) Jimbo's is "kinda sorta" expensive. I personally prefer Puffers, as it's just around the block from my house...and I know one of the bartenders at Jimbo's, if she still works there, that is. I think it's that I don't like that they serve cans of beer. :/ But at least when I go and shes there, I hardly pay much. Puffers apparently is Mitchells now. I like it better too.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 11:34 PM) He did a good job of handling Oden, even though I was surprised he didn't have him in on defense with about 3 minutes left when Lofton hit that layup. Lighty is one of the worst outside shooters I've seen this year....yet he shot his 3 pointer with so much confidence. Lighty's defensive abilty and rebounding is why they had him in the game, any offense from him is a bonus. He is basically a slasher, but somehow came up with that big 3.
  22. And responding to the earlier comment. I think Thad coached the pants off of Pearl in the second half. His use of Butler on Lofton, he insertion of Lighty to shut down bradshaw, and his use of Terwilliger during Tenn's small lineup min. Also subbing Oden at the right times down the stretch were timed perfect. Bruce didnt make many changes offensively when it was obvious that OSU's defense had increased pressure and used a fast small lineup. As im typing i hear Bruce complaining about the Ref's and calls for Lofton. Come on man. Lofton sat behind the arc and shot fadeaways, thats why he didnt draw contact.
  23. I dont see how anyone could complain about this tournament and its lack of upsets, the games have been ridiculous.
  24. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 09:31 PM) To be fair, I think he only bought the one male prostitute. Lots and lots of times. At least he knew what he liked.
