  1. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) Thanks for the info. Sounds good. Hopefully he continues over the year. It would be great to finally see him pan out. He and Corwin malone were so highly touted, I want them to work out. Kris is a class act and i always envisioned him taking a spot next to Garland and MB in the rotation.
  2. Here is a side bar to that. I called the season ticket holder hot line, and Mary mentioned that the lower bowl is pretty much sold out until sept.
  3. Over Honel’s last three starts, he’s pitched a total of 19 innings and given up only 13 hits and 5 earned runs to the tune of a 2.37 ERA. Honel has had only one bad start in the month of July, at Huntsville, where he gave up 8 earned runs in only 2 2/3 innings. Throwing out that start, he has had a 2.88 ERA for the month of July with a mere 19 hits allowed in 25 innings, including a start against a loaded Jacksonville lineup which did a lot for Honel’s confidence.
  4. Before the injuries, Kline was a key reliever for the National League champions, allowing runs in only eight of his 67 outings and going the entire season without allowing an earned run at home.Pitching, Defense & HittingOne of baseball's most effective lefthanded relievers, Kline mixes a hard slider and a sinking fastball. He is not afraid to run deep counts rather than throwing something over the heart of the plate, and he can also get key double plays with his sinker. Kline does a good job of holding runners and fielding his position. In his rare chances, Kline has shown he can handle the bat. Last year they batter .143 He might just not be happy with the O's as I once heard.
  5. Antrax was typing for like 15 min and then left.....damn
  6. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:22 PM) I agree, Texas chili is the best. But I cant drive there for my chili fix. I make mean texas style steak chili. I loooooove that kind.
  7. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:20 PM) but they have Crede. Crede is much better than Burroughs. I think we are going in the wrong direction. I am much more in favor of making sure our whole infield does not speak a lick of english.
  8. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:19 PM) I'm still convinced he'll slide through waivers. No one is going to straight up take on that contract. If Jerry got really ballsy I could see him doing it (knowing that the Reds would accept that and KW would still really have to sell the potential of keeping a guy like Chris Young (cause basically the Sox are dealing Young and Rogo for 4.5 mill a year for the remainder of Griffs contract). Man, i would feel really s***ty about dealing those two guys, especially with the upside that Young has. But I guess if it has to be done..... I really dont think Griffey will make it through waivers. I just cant see the yank's not claiming him.
  9. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:17 PM) Less time to catch flak from the fans in Cincy for the rest of the season. If you throw in the season in August, it looks better than if you throw in the season in July. We also cant give too much credit to the reds mgmt for the moves they have made in the past anyway. I get the notion these guys dont know much about what they are doing anyway.
  10. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:17 PM) I have an old buddy at Skyline Chili that said a Reds scout was working the Sox minor leagues. Damnit. Damnit. Damnit. hahahaha,
  11. Im going to ask him to move in with us. Im sure he wouldnt mind. "Hey Gooch, get me a beer while you are in the kitchen"
  12. He wont make it all the way to us. There are too many large budget teams that would need a CF or a DH. SOrry guys, not gonna happen.
  13. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:10 PM) I went to Skyline in Covington and in Cincy. I knew it was something sweet in it. You should of saw my face when I took a bite into it. I throught I was getting chili and then this sweet stuff was there instead. Not my cup of tea. But to each their own. I nicknamed it River s***ty Chili after my experience. you are about as accurate as carpet bombing........ But yeah, its a different taste, you need a vet to help you out. I lived in cincy for 5 years.
  14. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) As a person that had to go to Cincy a lot for work I was subjected to that filth they call chili a bunch of times. It has nutmeg and chocolate in it and crap. Its not chili but runny crap. Chili is best southwest style, nice and hot. If you want something sweet I suggest an ice cream cone. I agree it should not be called chili, because mine blows that s*** out of the water. But eaten properly, it is the s***. Skyline chili is amazing. And it has cinnamon in it, not chocolate, you must have gone to the wrong place.
  15. dude, you dont have to live in schamburg. You can live in my apt in Lincoln park. There are like 50 chinese and japanese restaurants around my house, and we are entertaining.
  16. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) You should see what a new font costs on the open market. Luckily I have the biggest posting total on Soxtalk and can afford it. you are the yankees of soxtalk....sinner
  17. Can we put Anthrax on waivers and hope he gets claimed by the KC message boards?
  18. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) You could be correct, but I could've sworn you start out in whatever league you are in first. I think you are right, I had a serious brain fart, followed quickly by a real one. La Bamba is not kind today.
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 12:56 PM) And I wouldn't expect anything less from the best GM on the board. I thought he always said...f*** it, lets get Cabrera.
  20. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) Yes, but since Walker was playing for Col, he only had to get through the NL. The AL wasn't a factor. He had a no trade clause as well, so my guess would be his contract and that stopped some rivals from trying to get him. It's a weird thing. he has to go through thr AL first, am I wrong???
  21. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 09:55 AM) Is Kelly Dransfeldt gonna be up? will go down in history as the most clutch call up ever.
