2012-2013 NCAA Basketball thread

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 8, 2012 -> 11:48 PM) +1 #mattacoachingtree Seriously though, I dont know why experts are sleeping on Big Ten teams. We ALL know how talented we thought Illinois was the past few years and were disappointed with their performance. Groce is a whole different animal and brings alot to the table. Conference play is going to be f***ing awesome. Right now there are some of the best guards in America in this conference. Not to mention probably the best big guy and a few of the best wings. Add in some REALLYT great freshman (impressed as hell with Robinson) and this is a seriously talented bunch. -

On ESPN today they called OSU and Illinois the two most overrated teams in the country. -

Thank god a majority of the voters got it right. That would have been embarrassing. -
You guys are ruining the fact I have Marty on ignore. Ozzie rubbed all of mgmt wrong, he's not coming back. I haven't heard anything about Upton but I've heard a lot of chatter about our OF'ers. Personally I don't think we have anything close to what it takes to get him and we aren't going to rape another team with our guys for better guys to flip for a guy like that. That's Xbox stuff.
-
QUOTE (Cali @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 06:50 PM) If the Sox could get Upton without giving up Sale, I would lose my s***.... Yeah with what? Magically flipping these guys here and those guys there for something worth his value? I dont buy it.

QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 01:15 PM) So the Hawkeroo was right. It's not who you play, it's when you play 'em For sure, however you cant really say later on it would have worked because life experiences change a person. Sometimes meeting that person at that time is part of who you were at that time. Just always look forward.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 03:11 PM) No, because you find so much wrong with a guy who was the coach for 7 years got the school 5 top 20 finishes and 3 top tens. That's not good enough. You aren't ever going to think what is coming is good enough. I'm telling you right now that wouldnt be good enough for me. Right John Cooper? -

Pretty good analysis though to be honest. I mentioned it before, he did feast on the lower tier teams but thats also what good teams should do. The wisconsin guys im friends with hated him because he went 1-5 vs OSU. -
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 08:41 AM) There are times it takes longer, but this, in my mind, is a pretty obvious situation where he simply can't look back. It was my ex's birthday yesterday, and so I sent her a text saying happy birthday. That was literally the only contact we had, and it felt great. Then she popped up on my FB feed because of her birthday (first time I'd seen her profile pop up at all in my FB for like 3-4 months) and yeah, I don't find her attractive at all. You can see my rantings and ravings on here from January thru April or so of 2011 on here about how much I miss her and wanting to move out to Seattle and all that jazz. It would have been incredibly dumb and I would have set myself up for failure. I'm happy for you that you found this clarity. There are so many women out there the right one will come your way. You'll know when it feels right as long as you keep your head about you.

I know people love QB's but I think that Arian Foster and Adrian Peterson have had phenomenal years, especially Foster on a great team.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 09:16 AM) Tribune says the Sox are dangling De Aza and Viciedo. All OF'ers are for sale like I said before. They see lineup holes although I dont particularly see them dealing Dayan at this point.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 08:36 AM) Checking around to see what he can get for Rios is a good idea for Hahn anyway. I was just pointing out that as unlikely as it is that Hamilton is signed, it's far more unlikely that Hamilton is signed AND Rios stays. From a money standpoint if you could offload Floyd, Rios, Thornton and add the same cost you could add an impact bat.

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 08:17 AM) If I read "three straight Rose Bowls" again, I'm going to throw something!! Wisky was 4-4 in the B1G this year and finished 3rd in their division. They only had a chance to play in the CG this year because of PSU and OSU's f*ck ups. Yes, he beat Nebraska, but let's not compare this season with the last two, please. On that note, I'm off to Vegas for the weekend to catch the Pacquiao - Marquez fight. Hold down the fort. You prick -
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 06:45 AM) I don't think it's ever happening, but if the Sox did sign Hamilton, they pretty much have to move Rios' salary. They've put Rios out there for suitors, not sure if thats for Hamilton though. I know for a fact he's been and being shopped.

LOL, facing off against Manning in fantasy playoffs and Decker outscores him to put me in the lead.

He get fired in 3 years. Really didnt reach very high there. -
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 03:16 PM) The only way they'd even begin to have room for that would be dealing Floyd and Thornton, and I just don't think that'd be a very smart move. I think those two are definitely on the block.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 03:11 PM) How was Bielema in trouble? I know you don't love the guy but he has three straight Rose Bowl appearances. He wasn't going anywhere unless he decided to anytime soon. There has actually been some insider info coming out that he was on the hot seat and was possibly being held at fault for his talented staff leaving. I saw it on the OSU and Wisconsin boards today. Who knows if its true. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 02:11 PM) Yeah its getting ugly. When talking about the move Bielema supposedly said on Bruce Murray Radio Show (no idea what that is) "My father always told me its better to play in excellence than excel in mediocrity." Pretty hilarious coming from a guy who never won a Rose Bowl. In fact Id be shocked if he won more than 5 games against ranked OOC opponents. (Im not even sure if he has won one, the game that is sticking in my mind is when he beat Miami at a bowl game. They may have been low 20s.) But hey, he dominated Illinois and Indiana!! I hear Paul Rhodes is a serious candidate in Madison, you hear anything about that? -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 02:00 PM) I always am amazed that guys have opportunities to cheat with married women. I can see not telling a single girl you meet at the club you are married and cheat in that way. But I never get in opportunities where I could cheat with a married woman. The guys I know who cheat do so because they want a hot woman. It has nothing to do with their current wives. They are just selfish snakes who want sex with hot women. They still want their wives. They still want family life. They just want sex. They refuse to give it up even though they took a solemn vow. They want something different basically. Doesnt even matter if shes hotter than your wife, you want something other than her. Married women want the same thing, they are ignored or arent appreciated or sometimes arent getting it at home and want it from you.

QUOTE (spiderman @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 12:17 PM) Way too many outs in this lineup. OBP needs to improve, specifically from 6-9 in the lineup. Is Konerko still a #4 hitter? On this team, he probably is, but the 2nd half of the season was ugly and he's now a year older. Alex Rios has been up/down/up/down...he's coming off an up season. I'm fairly comfortable with De Aza and Dunn in the lineup in their spots. Dunn will frustrate with his K's and low average, but on the hole, this is a poor lineup that the pitching will need to cover for. 5-9 are up in the air if they will even be with us next season. Some of those pieces may be gone.

QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 11:15 AM) The crappy thing is his value would probably double at the deadline. I wonder if Danks started off hot if they would look to deal him as well. Granted thats if we suck out of the gate.
