  1. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 4, 2012 -> 03:13 PM) Don't know if you could get him out of Louisville but I've been impressed with Charlie Strong. He's apparently already interviewing all over the place.
  2. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Dec 4, 2012 -> 03:15 PM) Poor Pitt. That would be 2 years in a row where a coach left them after one season. would be 5 coaches in 3 years right?
  3. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 4, 2012 -> 03:07 PM) I more meant guys like Bostad who was going to be the OC at Wisconsin when Chryst left, but then went to Pitt and now is at Tampa. If he had stayed at Wisconsin there is a good chance he would be the HC for the Rose Bowl, and then possibly keep the job. Because there was so much turnover you have to imagine that Wisconsin is going to look outside of the program. I am kind of expecting Bielema to take Ash and Canada with him. Should be interesting to see who they hire as they have a good amount of talent for next year. The problem with new coaches is that you get attrition and your recruiting classes tend to fall apart. Thats why the timing is kind of good and bad. If you make a great hire you can retain alot of it, if the hire is Meh, other coaches will be sniffing around your top recruits.
  4. I wonder if Hazell would be more interested in Wisconsin than Purdue.
  5. I dont see Arky competing with Bama, LSU, Fla etc in the upcoming year so I expect to see alot of this:
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 4, 2012 -> 02:42 PM) Wisconsin has 2nd place in the division locked up for the next several years. Although the gap to 1st place may be larger than he liked. True, unless they realign which I hear is coming. Only took 1 page on their football board to mention Tressel. Never thought I'd see that.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 4, 2012 -> 02:41 PM) http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf...tabase/1715543/ Talk is $4 million annually. As of Nov 2012, that would put him 5th in the entire nation, and be about a 40% raise over his current $2.6million. He would never make that in Madison. The SEC will also pay assistants alot better than the Big Ten overall.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 4, 2012 -> 01:50 PM) I've had very good luck over the years with Comcast, in general. A few outings and the like, but nothing extensive or prolonged. The big drawback is that they are expensive. The ONLY drawback with Comcast is that you have to call them every 6 months and threaten to leave so you can get a temporary discount.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Dec 4, 2012 -> 01:52 PM) Shh, let a man with s***ty internet dream. Im with you. Google fiber please come here!!!
  10. I fully expect the entire Pitt coaching staff to be driving back to Madison any minute now.
  11. Bielema doesnt see much future for him in the conference huh?
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 4, 2012 -> 12:27 PM) They know they are playing on borrowed time with AJ. History suggests catchers fall fast, many at a younger age than AJ is right now. It is possible he will still be doing what he did in 2012 in 2013 and 2014. It is probably probable he won't at least one of those years. I just wonder what their ceiling is on a contract for him. I don't expect him back. Someone will pay up. The Sox know his true value and they also know that AJ finally found another clubhouse that could deal with his s*** and at times look to him as a leader. He's been in another clubhouse as a free agent and was despised. They are playing this game correctly right now.
  13. I would be shocked if AJ is brought back at this point. He and his team want to capitalize on this last season and we simply arent ponying up the cash. The Sox are banking on his fear of going to a new clubhouse that doesnt know him as well as ours, not sure thats going to work. Only chance he's back here is on the cheap (market relative)
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 4, 2012 -> 11:50 AM) Tim Tebow in college? Zing!
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 4, 2012 -> 11:42 AM) Yep, it flat out is not a Team MVP award. Seeing the 4 Oklahoman writers all vote Te'o first was interesting to see, but 3 of those writers also didn't vote RG3 first last year. Heisman Pundit and SI predict it's Manziel to win, while USA Today survey has it very close (rumors are that the survey is made up of mostly writers from midwest/NE). Has there EVER been a Heisman winner who didnt score a single time all season? I'm checking and I cant find one.
  16. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 3, 2012 -> 07:39 PM) Woo, ISU gets the top 2014 Iowa recruit, Allen Lazard. He said he picked ISU over Ohio State, LSU, Alabama and Nebraska. Only know of the Nebraska offer being confirmed, but still a heck of a get. He's not on my radar so dont think OSU offered him. I see his offers as Iowa St, Iowa and Nebraska.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 1, 2012 -> 10:05 AM) I was actually looking into swtiching to U-Verse last night, but for some reason the TV service is still not available in my neighborhood. WTF, it's not like I live in the boondocks. I live in downtown chicago and I cant get it.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 3, 2012 -> 05:22 PM) Only 3 Heisman finalists this time around: Manziel, Teo, Klein Teo is one of the least qualified finalists I can remember in recent history. I saw the first qualification on his sheet was "provided senior leadership." LOL
  19. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 28, 2012 -> 02:40 PM) And they both played the game on drugs... Nobody has ever proven the crack rock makes you better!!
  20. "Duke Makes Point with Comeback" Really? I mean, werent they favored?
  21. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 29, 2012 -> 02:40 AM) I know Rock has connections, but it seems to me that he is just playing to the general psyche and typically angry mob personality of the average sports fan in general where, unless it's an outstanding move, people will be upset and believe their team gave up too much. People ask for moves, moves are made, and then people are upset that moves were made. Just the general idea to hope that people don't talk out of both sides of their mouth. Mostly. But I'm almost positive a trade of a well liked player will happen for what is going to be considered on here to be small returns. And then we'll wish it was quiet.
  22. Ah we had it. s***. Duke is a much more finished product. Liked what I saw though. Thomas needs more shots.
  23. Ted Valentine is going to ensure this game is close at the end.
  24. Illinois' effort level is so much better than last season.
  25. The real question is once things start to heat up, are you going to be happy with the moves that happen?
