  1. QUOTE (farmteam @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 11:01 PM) Actually I thought Crean looked kinda upset about it, but I could be wrong. I thought the whole thing was pretty dumb. I never thought Crean was too much of an attention whore, or at least no more than a standard college basketball coach. Could just be my bias, though. He seems like he likes attention overall but yeah that was weird. Also I wonder if he was squeezing them a bit. This would be the correct time.
  2. Yogi looked like the real deal. I was disappointed in Hollowell though. Big Ten league play is going to be awesome. I cant wait to see the PG's match up. Yogi, Craft, Burke, Appling, etc. Also, Gary Harris is so god damn smooth. I wish we got him.
  3. Listen, when I get halfway good info I PM it out to a few people. My post was pretty rock solid. Our pitching is for sale, not many of our young position players unless its an awesome deal.
  4. The media is reporting the floor is flexing a lot and also that it rained two day ago and the floor wasn't covered. Seriously guys?
  5. They should of put Aaron Craft in charge of this event, he's probably smarter than half these morons.
  6. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 06:25 PM) This is definitely one of the goofiest things I've seen watching college basketball. I wouldn't risk it if it were me. The floor got warm during the day and then it dropped 30 degrees. Thats something a f***ing high school kid would have figured out. Next time find a gym on a base and play there. If Thomas blows a knee I am going to f***ing lose it.
  7. WOw, I will be surprised if this game goes the distance. The floor becomes wet after 30 seconds. All we need is a blown out knee and Im walking off the court.
  8. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 03:28 PM) You're more optimistic about Illinois sports than most Illinois fans I'd give these chances (independent of each other): NCAA Tourney: 30% Bubble Team: 50% NIT: 80% I honestly believe Bruce Weber gave up these last few years. Groce has 100000% more energy than Bruce and actually has a sense of how to run an offense instead of just running a 1960's motion set.
  9. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 02:00 PM) That's why I never pay attention to any media when it comes to players on the trading block. They all are if there is a deal to good to pass up. Yes, Thornton is 100% on the block.
  10. QUOTE (Reddy @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 02:55 PM) How do you feel about the death penalty? Are you trying to REALLY derail this thread. What's next, religion?
  11. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 02:35 PM) There is a TON riding on Abrams and Paul being able to play PG effectively. Groce has shown the ability to enhance the PG skills of SG's. Jamar Butler was a shooter until Groce got ahold of him. Plus in his offense there will probably be multiple guys bringing the ball up.
  12. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 12:08 PM) Not sure what Wisconsin will do, next week Weds @ Florida should tell a lot. I was reading a CBS preview and the author mentioned his favorite incoming freshman recruit in the whole country is Dekker.
  13. When Hahn mentioned some 3-way type deals, all I can think about is him trying to get Choo.
  14. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 11:48 AM) They have Paul and Richardson and a solid if not spectacular Abrams. I think the Big Ten will get introduced to the offensive skills of Myke Henry too. The question is going to be the bigs and if they will be able to stop anybody. So yeah, I would be upset if they weren't at least a bubble team. That means 7-9th in the league. Even an average team should be able to hit that mark. I think they will be better than most think. Groce has the ability to get more out of Paul and Richardson than they have shown.
  15. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 11:39 AM) Do you think it's a decent name in a trade or an Ichiro type on the FA market? Trade. I dont see the Sox playing very big in the FA market at this time.
  16. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 11:30 AM) Yeah, I think you're right. I can see moving Viciedo IF Hahn values his upside way differently than KW did, but moving ADA makes absolutely no sense. You can't get his production in CF for cheaper than you're paying him and there's no viable replacement internally. I'm not really guessing here either. I would be SHOCKED to see those two seriously on the block, it would be a super duper secret against all of the other discussions. Now I DO think we are after another OF'er, however thats because they are floating the idea of playing Dayan at 3B again.
  17. I think Dan Hayes is pull this info out of his ass. ADA and Dayan would be two of the hardest players to pry from the Sox. They would probably trade half their pitching staff before those guys, especially Viciedo. His info reeks of 8th hand BS.
  18. How do you ruin a very valuable thread? Lets debate abortion!!!
  19. Hope we have a good showing tonight. OSU is going to be a slow starter this year breaking in alot of new depth, wont be very strong early on.
  20. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 7, 2012 -> 05:10 PM) Well, let's be honest, the GOP lost a chance to gain Senate control almost entirely because of a handful of Tea Party right wingers made outlandish and offensive comments about women. So no, not all Republicans in the electorate are like that, at all. But the Senate candidates in the key races were that way, in many cases. And the GOP helped them oust very conservative republicans in the primaries with their backing and funds. It's their fault.
  21. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Nov 7, 2012 -> 04:41 PM) I can understand people wanting to get rid of the EC. But, how can anyone argue that going to popular vote someone in a state like North Dakota would be worth more. The EC benefits the smaller states and gives them more of a say than their population does. I don't think the EC is perfect but popular vote isn't the answer be open to hearing other ideas to replace it. Because once you get rid of the states powers the only thing that matters is each person's vote. So everyone is valued the same regardless of state, creed, race, income level etc. Smaller states have the same say because the power is with the individual not the state.
  22. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 7, 2012 -> 03:51 PM) In my opinion, main difference between democrats and republicans is social issues like abortion (get out of my bedroom), marriage (get out of my life), drugs (dont tell me what I can consume.) Of the Democrats I know, none of them want big govt, they just hate big govt social conservatism. You hit on some good points there. One of the major issues in this argument is that the current GOP direction is to be kind of radically far right whereas they could steal some urban population (which has some affluent base) if they were more conservative socially. Their hard lines alienate alot of the population. People that could be republicans that live in urban areas tend to be more open to diversity and personal decisions, its part of living in such a mass of people, however they could also be in favor of republican economics.
  23. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 7, 2012 -> 03:48 PM) Um, Chicago? Chicago has a stranglehold on the rest of the state. And are you kidding? That's one of the main difference currently between Dems and Republicans. It's rural v. urban. It's "get off my lawn and out of my wallet" versus "we need to provide people with more!" The rest of Illinois is pretty barren of population. Most of the population is concentrated in the chicagoland area (not chicago proper). Thats not always the case in every state that has more than one dominant urban area.
