LOL, I love how the team was set up poorly even though it was universally lauded the team he finally got after languishing with the under talented White Sox was the hands down favorite in their division. He literally took a team that ADDED top level pieces including all stars and got LESS out of them. Second. Ozzie is a HORRIBLE fit for a young team. With one of those clubhouses someone needs to be the adult and LEAD, 2 things Ozzie has a hard time doing.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 24, 2012 -> 11:18 AM) Have you seen Illinois' offense? Their opponents play good defense without even trying. Actually, not really. I tried at one point but gave up. I may watch this game though because it may be interesting, however I will be in the quad cities so I'm sure it wont be a priority on the TV. -

One thing is for sure, there shouldnt be alot of defense played in that game. -
So I;ve taken a real interest in Pilsners this year for some reason, mostly drinking Krombacher and Victory. Any other interesting ones out there?

Newflix isnt garbage IMO, it is what it is, a library of popular shows and movies, and its pretty extensive. Its also presented on Apple TV in a high quality way. I am a prime member and get zero of those features with my Apple TV so I dont use it.

Epic Fail. I cant believe we got a player for his worthless ass.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 23, 2012 -> 11:49 AM) I have to call bulls*** on this - you have no idea what Suh was thinking. If/when Peppers gets to the QB, I'd hope he took him down just like Suh did. The hit was perfectly legal, maybe now Jay will wear a flak jacket. The elbow to the head could have been interpreted as a blow to the head which is against the rules. Jay should have turtled right away though.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 23, 2012 -> 09:45 AM) What I don't get about you is why you're in the bag for Obama. Who was against gay marriage until it suited him to be for it. How does that fact NOT annoy you? He's an opportunist...and you let him be. Spoiler alert, first term presidents are completely run by their party's desires. ALL presidents are run by where the money comes from. And living in Illinois, my presidential vote doesnt mean s*** anyway. I'm going with the funniest name.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 22, 2012 -> 04:47 PM) Still bare on the offensive side of the ball. No one ever argued that there wasnt any talent on defense. Except every Florida fan ever. -
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 22, 2012 -> 03:36 PM) Yeah it is. I'm impressied with Williams' and Shields' athleticism, but I have never been impressed with their cover skills. Woodson, even at an advance age, is still one of the best technically sound cover corners in the NFL. He's been a turnover machine and blitzes the s*** out of the Bears.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 22, 2012 -> 02:20 PM) I'm with Row on this one. 26 years old and still going strong. Wait till the switch flips in your body. It's shocking.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Oct 22, 2012 -> 02:12 PM) This would have been a much bigger deal for the Packers 2-3 years ago. ?? He's been the best db on their team for the last several seasons and has crapped all over the Bears in their matchups. Its a HUGE loss.

QUOTE (Jake @ Oct 19, 2012 -> 06:47 PM) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platelet-rich_plasma I had a Platelet Rich Plasma injection into my infraspinatus today as well as into another site on my right shoulder. Surprisingly, pretty painful. Pleasantly, I got a Lortab prescription. Unfortunately, no working out for at least six weeks Come at me, fatness Im thinking thats my next step for my knees. Either that or open me up.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Oct 19, 2012 -> 03:29 PM) The worst was a few months ago when I reminded of how terrible a really bad red wine hangover is. Blech. For me draft beer kills me.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 19, 2012 -> 11:38 AM) I drank like mad and also abused X quite a few times in those days, too (though that was a monthly thing, I always kept things like that in check)...and after pulling all nighters I was fine after an hour or two of sleep and going into work the next morning -- only to rinse/repeat that same thing a few more times that week. I used to be able to wake up, do a shot and chug a beer and felt 100% again, now it makes me want to puke and die.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 19, 2012 -> 10:52 AM) Hahah, yes, I remember those types of days... Since turning 35 (now 37), I don't drink like that anymore. I've learned how to turn it into a very casual 'hold the line' without getting drunk experience these days. I can have a few drinks and stop and that's it. Back in the day I never stopped ... and paid the next day. Remember your early 20's? When you could do that and there was no pay back the next day regardless? heh Yep, worked at a bar till 5, went to work at 9, no biggie. Now at 31 it can be hit or miss. I can have borderline alcohol poisoning symptoms sometimes the next day. I still get after it (got in at 7am last sunday morning) but overall am trying to stop.

My boy Sullinger looked dangerous last night in limited foul-filled action. KG has really been doing a good job tutoring him.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 19, 2012 -> 10:13 AM) These are hard experiments to perform outside of a very controlled environment. The only way you'd be able to tell if it did anything is if you don't change anything outside of stopping these things. You have to do everything else the exact same, such as eating, etc. Most likely, for both of you, the negative health effects will come from the environments you find yourselves in when doing those things (drinkers/weed smokers tend to eat more when they do those things). You also have to avoid offsetting these habits with something else. For example, if you stop drinking, but now you spend that extra time working out...the results may not be because you stopped drinking, but because you're working out more than usual. If you are going strictly by weight loss as the decider of this working or not, it will obviously work for both of you, as you will no longer be in those environments which tend to lead to eating more than normal. Yeah, its not that scientific. Weight loss, overall productivity etc. Like most of the people on here, when we drink we go all out and are worthless the next day so we are counting negative points for laying in bed past noon/missing workouts etc. Its very loose, but a fun challenge nonetheless.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 19, 2012 -> 09:47 AM) So glad that legalization is on the ballot here in Washington. The polls are looking good too. Continuing this off topic discussion: I'm on a 60 day challenge right now with a friend. I am going to abstain from alcohol and he's going to stop smoking pot and we are going to come back and weigh ourselves to see which one really had a negative effect on our health. Obviously blood tests etc would be better but for now this is the bet. The hard part isnt not binge drinking, but not being able to have that casual one or two beers after work.

QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Oct 19, 2012 -> 06:36 AM) This will be his 3rd weekend in a row at IU. 4th in the last 5 weeks. Supposedly, their all making their commitments known this weekend. We shall see. You seem to be the only IU fan excited about football. They couldnt even pack half the stands when the #8 team came to town. I dont think bball schools like IU will after be a football contender since they have next to zero fan and community support. -
LOL, I'll never stop speaking my opinion on weed. If we reversed marijuana with alcohol in our society there would be a ton less crime, agression and death. If we legalized it in parallel our national and local deficit would be cut by a large margin. It's less dangerous and less addictive than nicotine and alcohol and those are actually the TRUE gateway drugs from an addiction/breaking the law standpoint for teens. Reporting use of marijuana in chicago would get you a 250 dollar ticket. Most of the time the police just let you go.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 18, 2012 -> 04:29 PM) Why is it "safer" than alcohol? Just curious. Also how old are you? You seem pretty sharp. Why are you setting limits to low paying job careers? What is a security job? Stay up all night at a company guarding something or what? Alcohol is much worse for your body, makes you chemically dependent and is more addictive and actually kills people on an annual basis. You literally cannot overdose on marijuana.

Vandy backed out of games with Northwestern and Ohio State. How did they notify the schools? Via mail. NW had already booked its hotels. Now both are scrambling to fill that hole.
