I'm surprised there is so much thought put into the other schools in the conference academically. I honestly dont think it matters unless its your school. Otherwise maybe the MAC wasnt the place for me... -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 06:39 PM) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRuaGHd6VgU...feature=related CT did this last season. Watch it. Sh*t yourself. Theres been alot of good ones. I liked when Abram trucked brad in the inferno.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 02:26 PM) Or comments about how the conversation could go 1 of 2 ways and one of those ways would result in her crying. Seriously...what kind of a man are you? Pretty pathetic. I'm rooting for Laurel and Cara and the new guys. I don't have a problem with Johnny and Tyler but I have to think the food poising at some point will catch up to Tyler. Was really dissapointed to see CT go down that way but I thought he handled the loss with class and I look forward to seeing him on the next challenge. Ok Wes make me cry nobody likes you. Is that all you got Yeah.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 07:50 AM) Awful. it's one thing to lose because he is smaller, but another to lose because you were grabbing the wrong f***ing color balls. CT didn't deserve to go out like that. I was hoping there would be more hits in that jungle though. Michael & LeRoy have a good chance I think. That food poisoning is gonna get to Tyler, Kenny is sucking, & Wes has choked in a final challenge before. Go Rookies. I REALLY enjoyed Cara Maria owning Wes in that argument. He had no come back and basically shut up. If he wasnt teamed with Kenny he would have been the odd man out episodes ago.

Why move Stewart to the pen instead of Humber?

QUOTE (zenryan @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 04:46 PM) Miami isnt going to get the death penalty because it will cost the NCAA millions of dollars. There are tv contracts(ACC just signed a new deal) and the possibility of ruining a university to consider. The NCAA doesnt want another SMU on their hands. Miami is working with the NCAA on this and isnt trying to cover anything up. Nothing points to Shannon or Coker having any part and that is a plus. Also the ADs and coaches who were around during these allegations arent with the school anymore. I'm going to guess worst case is USC type probation. One thing people forget is that USC committed 41 violations. Thats why their penalty was so terrible. -

QUOTE (zenryan @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 04:28 PM) Well it would be the best time for him to do so since he's out for the season because of back surgery. Heavily recruited by USC, OSU, Miami He's the mush. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 02:23 PM) I guess Danny Sheridan is on the radio now and he refuses to give the name up, even though he kept saying he would. Eventually it will come out you would think. We all know they paid 200k+ for Cam Newton. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 12:56 PM) Notre Dame is a money powerhouse in a way that Miami currently is not though. The Death Sentence for Notre Dame costs a ton of people a ton of money. The Death Sentence for Miami doesn't feel like it changes much to me. If I were buying people for one of the top flight SEC schools, Miami getting the death sentence wouldn't scare me. Florida gets that much stronger. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 12:41 PM) Reading every aspect of the story, I'm really not sure how Miami is even going to defend itself. The evidence is beyond overwhelming. Charles Robinson deserves any and every award he can get for that story. He really smoked Dohrman when it comes to investigative reporting. However, the only reason SMU got the death penalty is because they got caught and kept doing the same thing. I dont think Miami will face that, at least I hope not. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 12:25 PM) If I were those schools, there is absolutely zero chance I'd let those guys on the field this season. I wonder if Seantreal Henderson is going to transfer again. He seems to be a compliance jinx. -

So if these are all proven, what happens to the players and coaches that arent at Miami i.e. Marve the starting QB at Purdue. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 12:13 PM) Depends. If Texas just signed a big shot QB last year, and youre a QB, why would you go there to sit on the bench for 3 years? Hell, somehow IU just scored a big shot QB. I still don't know how that happened. The facilities, coaching staff, location, etc are all items that give the "powers" an advantage. There is an outlier here and there within those regions, but for the most part, the talent funnels in one direction and thats to the large schools with huge rich athletic programs. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 11:35 AM) With very rare exceptions, these kids aren't doing that that risk them being thrown in jail, though. They are just doing things that an athletic association says are illegal. If I had nothing, and somebody offered me benefits that did not put me at any risk of jail time, arrest, etc, I'd have an awfully hard time saying no. While these kids are getting way more than nothing (a college education), they still aren't seeing much of the money they make these schools, either. They are just taking advantage of the system when accepting benefits, just like the schools are when they sign them. Yes, but they are being told over and over dont do this, dont do that, and their consequence is losing their scholarship and possibly their future either in pro ball or in another career. There is risk there and they are made very aware of it. There is no way you cannot fault these players for that. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 11:25 AM) If you were a kid who came from nothing, and somebody offered you all that stuff, would you say no? Very few people could honestly answer that question yes IMO. I never blame the kids for these scandals. Never. They are on the schools for lack of enforcement, the boosters/people of that ilk for just ignoring the rules, and the general attitude in the NCAA. This stuff has happened at most schools for a long time, and little has been done overall to stop it. Isnt that kind of like never blaming the criminal because the guy whose stuff he took illegally had it all laying around? The kids are just as at fault in this as the boosters and the institution. The kids are repeatedly told not to do what they did. With that said, who cares, Devin is an NFL player now. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 11:15 AM) I think it's more that the SEC schools do a better job covering their tracks. While almost everyone cheats, those schools are basically professionals at it now. However, your point about the percentage of revenue off SEC subscriptions is probably true, so maybe you're right. Either way, I've never seen a story even in the same galaxy in terms of severity of cheating as this Miami one. While they aren't the only school who took cheating to this level, they are really the only one (in my lifetime anyways) to get caught at this level. I seriously think the death penalty will be in play for them in punishment discussion. Today at 3pm, its supposed to be revealed who the bag man was that paid for Cam Newton. -

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 10:48 AM) College football has long been a broken system where you only have about 10 teams with an actual shot at the title. This behind the scenes stuff with boosters just kills any legitimacy in the sport. Even if you had some magic button to push that could eliminate all the shadiness, its still not going to make teams outside of the 10-20 top ones automatically contenders for championships. They simply dont have the facilities nor the actual location to pull in the top talent. You can clearly trace where the top college programs are by looking at the areas where more of the top recruits are from. -

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 16, 2011 -> 09:25 PM) You're right - it's Laz Diaz back there. I should cut Ohman some slack. I'm just hoping if we have the lead in the 9th that he doesnt give that treatment to Sergio

Coupla dribblers up the middle and a squeezed strike zone and the Tribe is back in it.

Come on, he wasnt spot on, but alot of those were called strikes earlier.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Aug 16, 2011 -> 07:43 PM) Well maybe this is why Yahoo doesnt spend much time going after SEC schools. I gotta think Rivals makes atleast 60% of their revenue off of subscription services bought in SEC country. Thats why ESPN hasnt picked this up yet http://sportsbybrooks.com/
