  1. Well, last night was my last week of this years bowling season. I had a 691, highest series ever. 193-254-244. That last game, I started with a split, struck 8 in a row, then a split in the 10th. So that kind of sucks, cause it could've been a 700. I end the year at a 188.7 average, 8.5 pins better than last year.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 10:18 PM) The Rangers are just awesome Yea, the battle in the AL West is going to be really fun to watch. The Rangers are really fun to watch.
  3. Wow . . . That was pretty good by Hamilton.
  4. De Aza really fighting here. Come on, win the battle. Base knock here . . .
  5. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 10:10 PM) Floyd is better than Javy. Mostly because he probably cares. Well, there is that too.
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 10:05 PM) He's not mediocre...he's well-above mediocre. Unfortunately, he wasn't blessed with a whole lot above the shoulders. Maybe its just me, but I put him on par with Javy Vazquez. Its definitely known that the stuff is there, and there are glimpses. But when it comes down to it, he is a mental midget, and one mistake turns to 3 to 4 to 5 mistakes rather quickly. Soon enough you lose, or you need a good offense to bail you out. You end up being around 12-12 on the year. So, giving you innings, strikeouts and showing glimpses of being awesome are there, but in the end, he really didn't do that great. Mediocre in my books.
  7. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 10:00 PM) Wow...the paradigm current...if we can get 'anything'... Id like to finally get some actual talent with big league potential. Well, Gavin is a mediocre pitcher, I mean, I hope we get something decent or some good potential. But really, when trading mediocre, what really can we get? Another project pitcher/position player, sure. But we aren't getting a A+ potential for an okay pitcher.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 09:57 PM) Blue Jays Or whoever! Just get Gavin out of a White Sox uniform. Never been a fan, if we can get anything for him, I'd be happy . . .
  9. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 09:54 PM) Yep. Could be even uglier if PK finally regresses. Don't even joke! You know the Sox can't afford that! PK will be PK till he decides he is done playing baseball. At least thats what I say to help me sleep at night.
  10. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 09:52 PM) Ready to move on from AJ in 2013. Amen! Bring on the Flowers era . . . Or anyone but AJ era.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 09:50 PM) As long as it took to make a Alex Rios is going to win CPOTY thread? Honestly, no hitting coach could enhance this offense. There's just too many easy outs. If not for PK being just awesome, I don't see a whole lot of difference between this offense and that of the A's and Mariners. Agreed. By the way, love the avy . . . That literally had me laughing out loud.
  12. Son of a . . . Come on offense. Do something.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 09:47 PM) Rios has looked good tonight at the plate. This sentence looks so weird - Seeing Rios and good in the same sentence. He is a player I really wish I could like, but just can't . . .
  14. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 09:42 PM) How long until people start making Jeff Manto sucks threads? If Manto is stressing to go opposite field and not constantly pull the ball, I am all for it. Although the pop-outs in general are getting old, its a nice change from the past 5 years or so. Definitely too early to tell if the hitting coach is to blame or if the players are who they are.
  15. At least Beckham hit it opposite field . . . Still a popout though. I'm tired of those.
  16. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 09:29 PM) yeah. tlb should have been starting today and that could have been his ab. I nominate TLB as one of the worst "nicknames" ever. Please just say Lillibridge so we all can pay a little attention to your post.
  17. Pretty much the same team from last year, the pitcher gives up 1 run and knows they are getting a loss - The Sox are lucky to score 1-2 runs a game.
  18. Nice hustling triple by Escobar. I already like him better than Vizquel as the back-up infielder.
  19. QUOTE (God Loves The Infantry @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 09:17 PM) Gordon Beckham makes me wish that we hadn't drafted anyone in 2008. I hate that guy with a passion. I don't know . . . I think having a new regime without Walker is going to make a difference. Beckham already has looked a lot better (spring and in these three games) than last year. I think he ends up being closer to 2009 Beckham than 2011 Beckham.
  20. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 09:14 PM) I think if RV finds some consistency, you'll see some consistent lineups. Oh definitely, but I like that he isn't just sticking with a set line-up right now. Like Ozzie did for long periods of time. Sticking with the same stupid line-up (Kotsay comes to mind) even if it is showing to be garbage.
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 09:10 PM) Ventura has already shown the ability to be flexible with the line-up, so it wouldn't surprise me. But it's the kind of thing that Dayan will need to prove himself to Robin for at least 3 weeks or so before he pulls the trigger on that big of a shake-up. We'll just have to wait and see. At least we're playing the Rangers tight all 3 games, no blowouts (yet). I really like how Ventura is experimenting with the roster. Not sticking with the same crap every game. Switching it up to find the best combo. Hopefully Becks can do well in the 2-spot, thats the ideal line-up if we have 2009 Beckham in there.
  22. I really like that Santiago is named closer. Leave Thronton and Crain in the intense late innings like last year. And if Santiago f's up, Reed can move in. Santiago really looks like a good pitcher though.
