When you blow 5 games and have a loss or two through first 70 games, I don't care how good your ERA is....the key word is clutch and in department Marte is not the same as he was last year. And I agree with you that Marte blew it...read better next time.

Be glad?! Inferiority complex much? Sox ran into Zambrano with his B- stuff and pretty much let im off the hook at least 3 times. Terible...not that I didn't expect it or anything considering how the season has gone. As far as Wood and Prior go, enough with the arrogance-- Sox are one of the worst hitting teams in the game, especially with RISP and GIDP...We should be thanking our lucky stars we didn't face a possible future HOF 'er in Prior and a lights-out All-Star flamethrower in Wood. Of crouse they missed Loaiza who has been better than either, buit considering how we hit today, we would have still lost with anyone out there, including Unit or Pedro.

Yeah and Carlos should have bent a bit quick picking up the ball from the ivy...would have helped, you know. Jose's throw was actually better than when he gunned down Miller in Saturday's game, with quicker release and more velocity, but the location wasn't as good and when you pair it with mediocre feed from CLee and G-lanek's speed, the play was very tough to make, watch the replay. (Speaking of relay throws and catchers blocking the plate....since 1999, between Fordyce, Johnson, Olivo, Alomar and Paul, how many f***ups have there been? Especially against the Yankees with Sirotka pitching, Sox couldn't tag anybody out on makeable plays or even catch the ball, it always went through the wickeds...lol)

While Colon wasn't nearly as mediocre as Garland and Burly were last couple of games, he was far from unhittable, he literally fell behind every single hitter he faced after 5th. I didn't blame Manuel for SF loss nor am I blaming him now. It all goes to Colon and Marte respectively as well as 4-5 particularly anemic Sox hitters...this time honor goes to Ordonez, Lee, Jimenez and Crede

I told you so, I told you so. WTF are you two years old? Did I disagree with you about missed opportunities? This is the second time I have said this so I will type it really slowly so maybe you will get it this time. You made a broad generalization about a player based on one single AB, that was proved narrowminded when you look at the FACT that is he the best hitter the Sox have this year with RISP. But don't let me stand in the way of your perpetual negative rants or anything. Go ahead and make up some stuff that I said here and have a schizo-good time! Perpetual negativism? You wish you were as high on this team's prospects as I was coming into this season. You only wish. Short f***ing memory you have. Making s*** up? When you expect our 7-9 hitters to get us rolling and I challenge that, I am making stuff up?! WTF? Or when you bring up everyone's RISP numbers to whitewash the fact that Lee--among other players I mentioned--f***ed up numerous times.....I am making stuff up too? . All I did was state the fact and mention a baseball cliche (it;s not what, but when) in regard to this team pathetic situational--or any--execution....Yeah, buddy, keep on making irrelevant, neutral-polarity statements in order to corect my "generalizations" and then get mad when someone dares to actually read something into your excuse-making posts....Statements have implications and your "defending" Lee was very apparent, I was well within reason in my interpretation of your post. Just because you never uttered "I am hereby excusing one Carlos Lee of any wrongdoing", doesn't mean you didn't indirectly...And who f***in' cares if there are other Sox player who are worse than CLee--he still couldn't come through (RISP of 275 ain't NOTHING to be ecstatic about either) when we needed him and neither could most Sox players....Result? Sox pissed the game away. That was my WHOLE point even when the game was 0-0 tie....Pardon me for being right at the end. And, yes, the very little things and lack of execution on seemingly dismissable plays early on....ONCE AGAIN came back to bite this team on it's collective ass. If we are up 3-0 as we should have been through 8 innings, Colon stays in, has enough room for error and we probably escape.....this was a 6th winnable game we tanked in the last 2 weeks...which only reinfoces another point of mine: Sox are still terrible and will be so until proven otherwise. 9-1 run in the next 10 games will be a start. Untl the STFU, will ya? (You have no reason to be upset with me, none whatsoever. ...Keep your passive-agressive BS to yourself, k? I don't wish to fight with you, but I will if you want me to...you still haven't responded to my "correction" of your 2000 team hitting theory BTW, not that it matters in the end)

I do not want to hear about how Marte is Mark Prior of bullpen...he is no better than Koch or Gordon when it really matters. Last season he never wavered under pressure, this season both he and Glover have been beyond disapponinting. Just like in hitting, there is "stat-padding" in pitching and then there is "clutch". We do not have it, but Twins, A's, Braves and Mariners do.

Willie Harris was 1 for 4 with two line-drive outs. He could have just as easily 3-for-4. Olivo and Valentin had two screaming outs to warning track. Meanwhile Griudzilanek gets a blooper... The real culprits is Jimenez, Ordonez, Crede and especially Marte....waht have you done for me lately. (It also didn't help that Olivo and Daubach wanted to hit homers off of Bortowski instead of going what Harris did- short quick line-drive swing to reach on base.)
-
I see no mention of the MAJOR LEAGUER who was brought in and FAILED to do his job, Damaso Marte. In the game thread somone did mention about Marte being overrated....
-
Make it "every series"..........this is beyond pathetic.
-
Colon was bailed out by Valentin and Jimenez just a few innings befdore...he was falling behind almost every hitter... Marte has blown 3-4 big games already, his low ERA is very deceptive, Rocky Biddle has been a better reliever this season. Cubs came through when they needed it. The is all a dream
-
Not necessaily this play, there were others thoughout season. Umps are screrwing us, big. Gruzilanek should have been down 1-2 not the other way around.
-
Cludjer and ss2k3.... HOW DO YOU LIKE DEM MISSED OPPOORTUNITIES NOW......."perceived" mistakes....riiiight. Winning and losing like I said.
-
Sickening, everything from balls&strikes to plays at the plate. :fyou
-
f***ing bloopers....those "little things" we missed early on sure look big NOW....
-
You aren't the onlyt person on these boards, you know...
-
Zambrano must have thrown close to 120 pitches and at 22 that's not wise.
-
Colon...THIS is the time to show what you got!!!! No more 2-0/3-1 counts, no more lazy, sub-95mph fastballs, ace them with your slider, splitter, curve or if you prefer 99mph laser on outside corners.
-
Valentin lines out to Sosa near the track....f***!
-
cwsox: You say nothing when Crede clearly misplays the ball...but when Jose finally fails to make his 4TH defensive gem of the game, you can't decide?! The problem was 301 on Lenny f***ig Harris.......JIMENEZ BAILS OUT APATHETICAL COLON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When somebody clearly misplays a ball, what is there to say? If Valentin comes up and gets it out of his glove cleanly, he's probably got a relatively easy force play and 2B with EK "running". What's there to say?! Are you for real? My goodnes... As far as ifs go, have you even seen the replay? If he handles it on a tough Wrigley outskirts of grass AND throws out the runner, it's a GG play- he is a "butcher", remember how can you expect him to make plays like that?

Oh, Val....no way it's an error, but I wish he would have f***ing made it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Falling behind Lenny f***ing Harris-- that leads to trouble.
-
Man... the dude is pitching a one.. correction, 2 hitter. What more do you want? No, no, today is he (knock on wood) is very good. But falling behind Lenny Harris 3-1 is NOT ncessary with his scary stuff.
-
If Colon makes his pitches, they may not touch him at all, but he keeps falling behind My opinion is this: Colon simply doesn't care enough, he is very calk-- too calm.
-
It's only his 11th or 12th. IIf he hits into 4 of em with Sox winning 10-4 I wouldn't care, but this one is huge.
-
f***ing Maggs....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is exactly what I mean by "recognizing the ball....and not trying to overdo it", he did the opposite on a tough pitcher's pitch with less than 2 stirkes....another squandered chance...sickiening.
