You're not the only one who has wondered why the Sox have not been able to his this piece of s***. I have gotten pissed every time he's killed the Sox. Every time. He throws 86-88 with so-so stuff. This guy should be, at best, an average MLB starter.....and he kills us every f***ing time out, except for now 3 starts where we've hit him hard. Our hitters are mental cases like a said, we can't see breaking pitches, we have no plan at the plate and, more importantly, we over-f***ing-swing on pitches that should be blooped to opposite field. At 5.80 ERA, Mays is downright terrible, worse than Danny Wright.

Wow...another bat outing for Garland, just as in his game against Cubs, he is lucky Twins didn't crush him in the first with Hunter's linedrive... Another wow goes to Rios-Jimenez-Olivo relay transit...if you thought Lee-Valentin at Wriggley wasn't great, you should have seen this ugly, bobbly f***ing s***..... What dumbass ever thought Rios can't play OF?! Forget about center, he can't handle right as well... That's two extra bases he gave to the Twins on two plays, inclduing a game-tying run.

It doesn't matter WHO you get...what does matter is that if Valentin is willing to sign a Lofton-esque contract, that leaves you with a huge chunk you can spend on Giles/Guerrero/Beltran/etc, So again, I've rather have Valentin at 2 mill, than Jeter at 16 or Tejada at 12.

I agree with you on DJ- he is just bad even if he is very nice. Hawk knows a lot about the game and is an old school gentleman; with a right partner (and no not Wimpy, lol), he could be very good. The problem is how do you find a personality to match Hawk's eccentiricities...

I am sorry but 820 OPS (2000-2002) from a SS and a very good (for a 2nd hitter) RBI/ab ratio is ANYTHING but "mediocre". And yes, I'd rather have Valentin + Vlad than Graciappara for the next 3-4 years.

I didn't know Jose had a run-scorring error this inning? I bet Jeter has a dozen "almost oopsies" a year, should I start kewping score of close calls as well? I don't think so. In any case, Crede's defense is overrated. He has a ton of potential there with his range and arm, but so far he's cost us at least twice as many runs as Jose.

Does Crede prefer this run (is he in double digits yet?) be charged to Visa or MasterCard?

I'd rather have Jose at 2 mill than Garciappara at 15 or whatever he will make. You can sign Guerrero for the remaining 13. Stupid, read next time. And Renteria ain't that good, my friend, but his pay will still be high.

1. When people--many of them--called him "the worst defensive SS in the majors" this season, it only makes sense for me to run a quick comparison. Clujer, meet logic. Logic- clujer. 2. His bat will come around, since he became a Sock and has had 400ab a season, he's had a median OPS of 820, with a very good RBI/atbat ratio for a 2nd spot hitter. Since his game never centered around pure quickness, I feel he can mantain (and get wiser on defense) his form until late 30's....If he takes another pay cut (say 6 mill/3 years) and comes back to form, he will be a better player than Garciappara and Renteria and their future 8-figure pay checks.

Mays is horrible, I can't believe it took us 20 games to "solve" his junkie, talentless assf. I am liking it even if I can't say I predicted it.

He might be the greatest 6-7 hitter to ever play this game when it's all said and done. It's just when you get to your 3-5 sluggers, Brian might not be good enough; you need your Thomases, Ordonezes, Lee/Konerkos to carry you. Still, his clutchness was promised to us by BoSox fans and is greatly appreciated.
