Is it me or does Hakw have an excellent "booth eye"? It seems that as soon as the hitter makes contact, he already knows it's a base hit or if it's hit off the end of the bat or it's "oh, he just missed it", etc...John Rooney and Chip Carey yell "SWUNG ON, HIT DEEP.." on every other flyout. and are usually wrong not to mention late to call...whereas Hawk has a the eye of a, well, hawk. He is a good one and Sox are lucky to have him. DJ is anotrher story altogether...

The first time I ever pitcked up a bat I was, what, 15...so even with my height and leverage, I will never be a really good hitter. But I can field (SS/CF...what fun is it to play 1st, lol) pretty well, not great, and as I already mentioned before, I take sliding very seriously in order to avoid injuries.

After I've seen Jose score from 3rd and 1 out on TWO of Borchard's infield pop ups and after I've seen him score from SECOND on a deep sacrifice FO in 2000....I have no doubt he scores on that single. The worst part about it is Jimenez is a step faster than either Maggs, Jose or Lee...Little f***er.

Price fixing is not capitalism... It's part of it... Maybe in the US "capitalism" consists of price fixing. But capitialism is supposed to have prices free float on a demand/supply basis. Now communism... Capitalism is many things, some good and some not-so-good, and reality differs slightly from the textbook. Price-fixing, various types of monopolies, etc are not nearly as prolific as they used to be, but are still a realitvely big part of this economic system as you can very well see. (It's all a byproduct of this little thing called "greed"... and another one called "acumen") YMMV.

Compared to Rios and Borchard stiffs, Harris is the greatest fielding CF of all time. He's had trouble reading pop ups on Metrohole, but he still had better range than Rowand. and his arm is surprinsly accurate if not exactly strong. He took a double away from Hunter with bases loaded, that redeemed him.

The thing that pisses me off the most about it is that the artists get so little from each CD. I remember reading that the average artist is lucky to recieve a dollar from each of their CD's sold. Even a big time guy only gets a couple of bucks a CD. The money pretty much goes to the record labels. That's what you get when you sell your soul to the bloated corporate bureaucracy.....the real money is in touring anyway.

actually i was thinking of campaigning for hsc to recieved the axe Careful what you say...HSC is my only friend here. But that's ok- since the Sox are almost done this season, I can use another 2-year** sabbatical. (**- I was banned from WSI in 2001, taking a nice 1.5 break...and since I don't I-net for anything else other than this site, I might as well devote those precious extra minutes/hours a day I use to get m fix here to my life and my profession...lol)
