QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 09:00 PM) KW has to go out and get some serious bullpen help. If we bulk up the bullpen, this is a WS team. I don't think it is with the current bullpen. Picking up Jeff Nelson off of the scrap heap isn't enough. We've got enough back of the bullpen guys already. We've got the prospects, so trade a couple of them for a couple genuinely good bullpen arms. The sooner the better. if the scrubs keep playing the way they have, how bout scott williamson? -

QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 08:54 PM) Cleveland is right back in this race now....especially with the Kitties and us playing like s***. especially with the momentum we just gave them, them taking the last 3 with our"studs" on the mound. -

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 08:45 PM) How would people like trading for Soriano and sticking him in LF. You could trade Pods, Broadway and Fields for him. We would most likely be overpaying, but he could bat leadoff and provide 40/40 production. Realistically though, offense is not our problem and defense and pitching is, so its adding to a strength and making a weakness worse. That probably is not a good thing, but he would add some more spark to the team. hes terrible in lf -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 08:44 PM) He's not a reliever, and it already feels like we've retarded his growth this season. thats so true, he has proven he isnt a f'n reliever, he even says he wants to start and that he doesnt think has good enough stuff to be a late inning guy. >we aint going no where w/this pen -

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 08:31 PM) There's not a manager alive or who ever was alive who could manage this bullpen to success. Maybe Ozzie told him the bullpen was fine, but KW did him no favors the way he set it up this season. bullpen arms arent that easy to get. if u were to trade for them, you would have to give up alot or if not, spend a lot(like the scrubs, yanks did) -

when was the last time we scored a damn run? were due -
i would love to have kittle, but singleton is signed for like 5 years, so it doesnt really matter i guess.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 31, 2006 -> 09:23 PM) Am I missing something here? 3 years ago: 4 HR, 60 RBI, 90 R (nice), 43:70 BB:K, .288/.330/.381/.710 That OBP is pretty pathetic as is his BB:K and OPS. i dunno, a lot of announcers said he was the best ss. the numbers are good enough when ur playing great D
-
anyways i was talking about our lineup during interleague play, not if we switched to the NL
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 31, 2006 -> 09:20 PM) You're nuts. The Sox would have the best lineup in the NL if they swithched over tonight. Pods - CF Iguchi - 2B Thome - 3B Konerko - 1B Dye - SS Fields - RF Pierz - C Crede - LF Ozuna - P that scares me, thome 3rd, dye at ss....
-
QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 31, 2006 -> 09:11 PM) I'm more of a fan of our NL lineup. That is the tits. wow speaking of the nl, our lineup is gunna be scary... pods gooch pk dye aj crede uribe anderson pitcher....... :headshake we better hope crede countines to play well cuz if he doesnt.... QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 31, 2006 -> 09:16 PM) The Twins don't really matter at this point. They're a 4th place team and acquiring a player that won't really help the club just to block the Twins would be a huge mistake. Also, Renteria >>>>> Izturis, no way he's the best SS in the NL. I won't even mention Eckstein, Jimmy Rollins, Jose Reyes or Felipe Lopez. im talking about like 3 yrs ago or so. lopez, reyes werent even good back then WHEN healthy izturis>>>>>>>>eckstein

QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 31, 2006 -> 09:10 PM) 1.) The All-Star/GG thing really doesn't mean s***. Did you know that both Lance Carter and Mike Williams were All-Stars! Hell yeah true, but when he was healthy, he was considered by many, as the best ss in the NL. i dont think he would do bad in the AL. i didnt know he was getting paid that much the next two years.well lets just hope he doesnt end up w/the twins. hey, it was just an idea, kenny interested in him....
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 31, 2006 -> 09:02 PM) He makes good money now, is comming of major surgery and would cost a lot in terms of talent. http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/players/playerpage/174699 hes making like what, a million more than uribe? he is an all-star/gold glove ss. i would love to aquire him. impo. info.: Fantasy Analysis Izturis will be nothing more than a reserve when he's healthy enough to return. Rafael Furcal and Jeff Kent figure to play as much as possible in a pennant race, while Izturis could become trade bait for a team like the Twins, who value defense at the position. Keep Izturis stashed only in deeper NL-only formats at this point. we dont want the twins acquiring him
