  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 08:57 PM) I don't know if fear is the right word, certainly it was with Quentin in 2008. Quentin, Konerko, Beckham and Rios are all capable hitters...and Andruw Jones can leap up and bite you. We're just a soft overall line-up unless we're getting consistent contributions from Pierre, Teahen, Ramirez and AJ. At one point, it seemed like Ramirez would be Soriano-Lite. That would make a tremendous diference, if he was the same threat he was in 2008 on a more consistent basis (like before June, that would help). i dont know,i just think it says a lot about the lineup when scott baker said that as long as you keep pierre and beckham off base, you'll(as a pitcher) be fine. that the rest of the lineup isnt that tough.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 08:25 PM) Getting Gonzalez would make AJP and Ramirez remember how to hit? no but it would give the opposing pitcher atleast one hitter to worry about, i dont think any pitcher fears not one batter in that lineup
  3. and to think i thought it wasnt a good idea to trade hudson, flowers, viciedo, danks2, someone else, for agone. shoot, trade the whole minor leagues for all i care lol
  4. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 08:17 PM) ugly swing Beckham. its fine, cq will just get a basehit up the middle..
  5. QUOTE (kev211 @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 08:12 PM) I just started watching now, quick question did we get shutdown like that because Romero was unhittable or because our offense is terrible? both. but mainly, he was great
  6. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 08:11 PM) I'd love to see Jason Frasor and his 6.23 era. kevin gregg is warming up, hopefully he can pitch like he did with the cubs
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 08:05 PM) I think it's great that Toronto is giving Rios a standing ovation for that homer. would it have been wrong if he went out for a curtain call? lol jk thatd be funny
  8. did ozzie really think nix would get a hit there when he hasnt had an ab sing st? lol well atleast were not getting no hit
  9. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 08:02 PM) I think it's been proven beyond already this lineup is exactly what Ozzie wanted this year, and you can sense this is not what Kenny wanted to do. yea but the guys that kw got that i mentioned, theyre all struggling. kw wanted these hitters except that he wanted a dh. and it would be thome right now and yea, i doubt thatd make much of a difference right now alright rios
  10. QUOTE (Real @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 07:53 PM) The front office should feel some sense of embarassment for assembling a lineup that gets no-hit. Even if it's a kneejerk reaction, I'll take it agreed. a lot of people blame it on ozzie. but no, its the front office not just him (cq,rios, teahan, ramirez, gordon, pk,aj, those are kw's players)
  11. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 07:50 PM) Absolutely pathetic and embarrassing offense that's been assembled. i strongly feel like we are going to get no hit lol anyways, even if we do,i dont think it does much. meaning, i dont see kw making a move (that itd send him a message)
  12. QUOTE (Tannerfan @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 07:48 PM) You make it sound as if Nix is some great player. He's AAAA at best, and a pretty lousy fielder. I'd hate to see him on that fake field hes not great but hes still way better than vizquel and ozzie could atleast give him one start or atleast one ab. vizquel brings nothing offensively
  13. "african american greek night" maybe im just an idiot but what does that mean? that ur african and greek?lol
  14. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 07:43 PM) Does it matter who is playing? Romero has lethal stuff tonight. the point is how ozzie isnt doing whats best for the team, hes playing vizquel over nix because its such an honor to see one of the great venezuelan ss's play. yea, well you should have signed him a few years ago then
  15. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 07:41 PM) Has Nix played at all this season? no he hasnt. and even though he isnt great,his bat is still way better than vizquel but yea, you know how it goes with ozzie and his buddies
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 07:38 PM) To think we could have had Felipe Lopez instead of Omar Vizquel. Ugh, we all knew he was going to play way too much. ozzie hasnt even used nix. hed be a better choice today instead of vizquel but i guess hes never going to use him
  17. people say how kw will do something ,sooner rather than later, but whos going to trade a bat this early, or even next month?
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 07:36 PM) 9 of the 11 strike outs on pitches out of the zone? This is the most dominating start I can ever remember against the Sox. its also one of the worst lineups weve had ever probably
  19. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 07:35 PM) Can I get an update? yea,were going to get no-hit
  20. yea, i dont think anyone in this lineup strikes much fear in a pitcher
  21. those shirts are beyond awful and sooo lame. i also hate this shirt i always see in those white vending carts outside u.s. cellular field that says in big letters "beat the cubs" and i think its actually a licensed shirt
  22. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 08:47 PM) Ozzie Guillen has really not done anything right this whole year. He wanted this team that he has to manage and he is being exposed. Peavy never had it tonight and should not have gone out there in the 6th. Oh and I think this team needs to take spring training a little more seriously as I do not think they are ready to play. couldnt agree with you more
  23. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 08:36 PM) Guys (and Melissa) think about this... What if (and I'm not saying it will happen) the Sox are completely out of it by All Star break, but Jones continues to mash. I bet a team looking for a right handed stick would overpay... thank you lol we cant be out of it, if the sox dont win 83 games, i lose 650 dollars
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 08:33 PM) L and R yea thats smart lol
