QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 23, 2016 -> 04:09 PM) Even with 5 IF, Abreu finds a hole. Hooray! Good thing the infielders were playing in or that's an easy double play.

*Gamethread* 4/21 - Angels vs White Sox
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 03:02 PM) Yeah, no. Terrible offense did Yep. The Sox primary DH is such a weak hitter they have to bat him eighth. That sums up their problems in a nutshell.

GAME THREAD 4/17: SOX @ TB
I'd feel a lot better about this if the Sox had an offense.

4/16 Game thread: @ Tampa Bay, 5:10pm, WGN/WLS
I just hope the Sox are proactive in bringing in another legit middle of the order big bat. Take some pressure of the pitching staff. They can't expect the pitchers to keep shutting down the opponents every game.

Way to go Rollins and Melky! Surprised they pitched to him there.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 07:25 PM) God damnit. That is why the 25th man matters. Awful f***ing AB from Sands. Should have been Ishikawa. Sands is supposed to face LHP. Sands is OK as the 25th man if Robin uses him correctly.

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 05:24 PM) Listening to Austin Jackson interview. New fav player. Yeah, I think I'm really going to like him from what I've seen so far.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 05:17 PM) If anything, Lawrie should be the one getting benched in that scenario Avi could be playing everyday in AAA. He's still young with options.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 05:16 PM) Avi is probably the equivalent of Lawrie as a hitter But Sanchez would be a great defensive improvement at 2B.

4/11 Game thread: @ Minnesota, 3:10pm, CSN/WLS
I wonder if the Sox would be better with Sanchez at 2b and Lawrie at DH.

Clutch double by Frazier scores Abreu with an important insurance run.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 02:25 PM) I understand why it's not an Illinois ad, but I just find South Dakota to be... random, I guess Reinsdorf is plotting to move the Sox to South Dakota and I'm going to chain myself to a post at US Cellular Field and go on a hunger strike until he admits it.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 01:40 PM) • A runner sliding into second has to make "a bona fide attempt" not just to slide into the base, but also to "remain on the base." • Runners will not be allowed to change their "pathway to the base" in the middle of a slide to break up a double play. • Baserunners can no longer use a "roll block" on an infielder to break up a double play. Essentially, that means they can't start their slide in midair and make contact with the infielder at or near the knee, with either a leg, arm or the body, before they've made contact with the ground. • If a runner makes contact with the infielder illegally, both he and the batter would be called out. • But if the runner makes contact with the infielder while attempting a "bona fide" slide, he would not be called for interference. • Finally, because of these new safety measures, MLB and the union have agreed to allow umpires to more strictly enforce the "neighborhood play" and use replay to review that play for the first time.
