  1. QUOTE (flavum @ May 16, 2014 -> 09:32 PM) He's 84! He forgot more about baseball than most people know, probably including a lot of people in the Sox' organization.
  2. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 16, 2014 -> 09:22 PM) If only his defense was almost as good as Danks or if Danks could just hit like Sierra has been Where's Jimmy Piersall these days? If he's still healthy enough to coach hire him to work with Sierra and the rest of the Sox outfielders for a couple of weeks. Do the Sox even have an outfielder coach? Doesn't seem like it for the past number of years.
  3. Tank! Off the wall for his 14th double of the season.
  4. Abreu looks like he's hurting - bad body language. And I'm talking both before and after the HBP.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2014 -> 08:51 PM) They just need to throw Avi in LF so his bad reads cost you a double and not a triple. It would be nice if they can acquire a legit RFer who can hit so they can alternate Avi and Tank at LF/DH.
  6. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ May 16, 2014 -> 08:46 PM) Hopefully Viciedo will be spending a lot of time at DH next year. Then we get to watch Avi butcher the defense out there, that is if he can keep from hurting himself.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2014 -> 08:45 PM) Lazy defense by Viciedo gives them 2 in scoring position. Not quite sure why he's playing everyone on the warning track. This team looks so flat on this road trip. He's playing everyone on the warning track because he's not a good outfielder so he needs to compensate by playing deep. It was not lazy defense, he dropped the ball taking it out of his glove to throw it in - a physical error.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2014 -> 08:39 PM) In A ball, Tim Anderson with 4 errors in 4 innings Just shows how hard it is to find/develop a top SS. The reason not to be so eager to trade Ramirez.
  9. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 14, 2014 -> 08:58 PM) Ok, is hawk naming him El Canon or Big Bertha? Dear god he's a monster and you can see him still adjusting to the league adjusting to him. Summer in Chicago will be fun. Please not "Big Bertha!"
  10. Abreu is a genuine superstar. Even when he's struggling, which he has been, he is still productive. And when he's hot, he's unstoppable. He can really use a couple of days off though. What a bush league dirty slide by Donaldson kicking Ramirez when Alexei was way wide of the bag. File that one and make him pay when they meet again. Nice job by Rienzo. Good win to avoid the long losing streak.
  11. End his (Donaldson) career next time the Sox play against him.
  12. Where's Danny Richar these days?
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 13, 2014 -> 11:47 PM) Beckham has never come close to striking out at the rate Semien has. I really don't know where this liability came from with Semien. Maybe the AFL was a warning he wasn't ready yet? Yet some already want him replacing Ramirez.
  14. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 13, 2014 -> 11:44 PM) I really hope they don't give Carroll another start. I'd rather see Johnson/Paulino return. Johnson can get out AAA batters, he needs to go to the majors and throw strikes to MLB hitters. He's been one of their best pitchers tonight.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 13, 2014 -> 11:43 PM) Semien had a hit on Saturday. With that said, he's had his chances and has done nothing to earn staying in the majors. He's beginning to look like a young Gordon Beckham.
