  1. The life span of those seats were 10 to 12 years, from what I've read. The point is that they were going to have to be replaced to keep the Cell from become a dump like Wrigley.

Sorry mreye. I was just trying to spread a little knowledge.
  3. Billy Beane did not write "Moneyball"
  4. 1. The Cell is greeat venue to watch baseball. 2. They've been hammering the slogan "Beautiful Wrigley Field" into the minds of Chicagoans for as long as I can recall. That's ok I guess, but be sure to wear a hardhat to the game.
  5. It really doesn't matter whether we finished 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 16th in the Clement sweepstakes.
  6. Millwood is generally a better pitcher than what he showed last year at Philly. He'll be a nice pick up for the Tribe, but not $7million worth.
  7. Then again, Hideki Matsui turned out ok. I'm not saying this guy is Matsui, but you get my point.
  8. This is a situation to where you have to trust your scouts.
  9. A $7.5 million salary might have a little to do with it.

Honestly, that's not all that "funny". First of all, these people very rarely see snow and most drivers have never driven on it. They do not know the tricks to driving safely on snow. Second, They don't have stock piles of salt, sand, cinders or whatever to enhance the melting of the snow and to provide traction for vehicles. They also haven't invested oodles and gobs of snow removal equipment, as there rarely is a need for it. You could prabably go up to northern Minnesota and look like an idiot to the locals because they know how to deal with the exponentially harsh winters they have up there.
  11. Yet you think our catching situation is just fine. Harris hit a respectable .262 or so in his first year of getting a qantity of playing time. He only stole 19 bases when he's capable of so much more, but then Beastly, you've never experience the first day day, weeks year on a job that you wanted to make a career of. Until you do, you, and you realize the uncertainty and lack of confidence you have, you have nothing meaningful to say about a young ballplayer.
  12. Harris is a lot more proven than Valdez .... to say nothing of Polanco. Harris probably has a better upside than Valdez and after 2 weeks of watching Valdez you'd be screaming for his release. You guys think the answeer is always the guy in the minors, and a young player that doesn't come up and hit like Pujols is a piece of s***. It doesn't work that way.
  13. A great arm does not a great defensive catcher make.
  14. Olivo was kicking some major ass with the bat. (think green) Sorry, but I disagree 100%. This was a good deal.
  15. Ok ... That's info I didn't have about Iguchi. Yes, Cairo has been primarily a 2B. Not only do the Sox get in a bind if Uribe goes down, but also with Crede as Uribe would be the best replacement for Crede at this point.
  16. I'll say this much about Billy Beane not proving s*** .... The A's kick the s*** out of the White Sox every year.
  17. Possibly. We don't have clue as to Iguchi's defensive capabilities.
  18. What is Brad Ausmus' availability. The guy can't hit a lick, but he's supposedly a master at handling a pitching staff.
  19. I believe Cairo could hold down the SS position and if I'm not mistaken, Iguchi was primarily a SS that the Sox were looking at for 2B.
  20. Happy birthday to the most upper-left person on the keyboard!
  21. They are saying the death toll is now over 20,000.
  22. The seats needed to be changed for the purposes of general maintenance, anyway. Most Sox fans preferred green. I don't why changing the seats is a problem.
  23. Yes, I'm sure it will happen sooner or later. The New Madrid fault is the one I'm concerned about. It's located at the Missouri bootheel and has basically been dormant since about 1812, but when it went then, it went big time. It actually changed the course of the Mississippi River and made the river flow backwards for a time. That's what created Reelfoot Lake in west Tennessee. Windows were broken in Cincinnati and it rang church bells as far away as Boston. Of course, I'm only about 60 miles from there.
