Just curious here. Weren't you the one saying we should have signed Clement? He of the 2-5 record and 5+ ERA through the stretch drive of last years pennant race. I'll agree. Buehrle has not had the opportunity to show he's a big game pitcher yet. However, there is something about his demeanor and tenacity that leads me to believe he will step up under pressure. I'd say he has a significantly higher likelyhood of doing so than Matt Clement.

Taking into consideration that Harris has just gotten his first exposure to somewhat regular playing time at the big league level, I think he did ok. I don't believe he'll ever be an all star, but I would expect a ceratin level of improvement from him. I expect him to dramtically improve his base stealing. He's proven in the minors that he knows how to steal bases. I think it was a matter of him not wanting to screw up that made him tentative in that area. He will have more confidence this year and a coach in his ear that knows when it's appropriate to steal a base.

If he's an impact type player, then up the offer and sign this dude.

Torre selected Loaiza so the Yankees could recruit him. They wanted him to come to NY as a free agent after '04. After he was traded there, they kind of changed their minds about him. Imagine that.

If you take all the money donated for disaster relief throughout the world ... for earthquakes, hurricanes, civil war relief, etc .... 40% came from the US Gov't.

I have to back track from my earlier posts. I got caught up in someone's spin. It seems the USA, in fiscal year 2003, donated 40% of ALL monies that were dontaed for disater relief world wide. That is just what the US Gov't donated. You can add to that all the private donations that come out of the US. The rest of the world needs to just stfu.

I totally disagree. When 9/11 happened, we APPRECIATED the support we received from around the world. Bush had the world in his hip pocket at that point, and then blew his "capital" with his subsequent actions and policies. Bush doesn't give a s*** about anyone or anything but his agenda.
