Interesting
Actually, compared to everyone but Rivera and Gagne, he's about the best there is.

We know it's Eckstein...
As much as I like Eckstein, I'm glad we didn't beat the Cardinals bid. Too much money for too many years.

Rumors thread
I think you guys better get used to hearing steroids and Bonds connected together. I think every time he does anything, there will be references to 'roids. Especially as he approaches Aaron's 755.

No one currently in Soxtalk is as rude as him. Not even close.

It's not anthrax's opinions that got him suspended. It the demeaning, know-it-all, classless way he presents them.

Still need a starter.

It was definitely time to try another approach.- Best Pitching Staff in the AL Central
I'll say this much. Santana is not a one year wonder, like Loaiza was. He's the real deal and he'll be a thorn in our sides for years to come if he stays healthy.- This year compared to last year....
Considering the fact that my opinion of Anthrax is well known around here, I'm gonna keep my mouth shut and let the powers that be do what they feel is the proper thing to do. I just want to go on record that I personally have not discussed anthrax with any of the Soxtalk admins.- Rate the offseason
I'll say "fair". The additions to the bullpen I like. I consider both Vizcaino and Hermanson solid pickups, with Hermanson being the good veteran pitcher and Vizcaino being the guy who has a good upside. Nice balance. Podsednik? I don't know. If this guy can fall somewhere between his 2003 season and his 2004 season, I'll be happy. I certainly do not expect anything close to 100 SB from him in the AL, especially considering we have 19 games against the Tigers. Fifty SB's and I'll be thrilled. Dye. Solid pick up for a good price. Smooth move by KW. The more I think about this acquisition, the better I like it. He will not replace the production of Maggs or Lee, but he's solid. El Duque. If he can stay healthy, the dude can pitch. The Sox have to be very careful with him. Keeping him in the rotation should be a priority for the Sox. Err on the side of caution when considering how much to pitch this guy.- Pierzynski still possible
That rotoworld quote was nothing but pure speculation on their part. There isn't even a "rumor" aspect to what they said. For the record, I agree with JUGGER. Zaun would be a very solid addition to this team. I can't argue against Cairo, either.- Miller signs with BoSox
Just asking but, exactly how many memebers of the Red Sox came up through their minor league system?- Free Agent Resource
What really sucks is that LA would have practically given him away last offseason. They had practically decided he'd never live up to his potential. They could have tied him up multiyear for a helluva lot less money. s*** happens.- Aaron Rowand
I kind of like the idea of having a guy on the team that does everything well. Rowand plays a damn good CF, runs the bases like he actually knows what he is doing, hits for power and average. I'll take 9 Aaron Rowand type players and take my chances. As far as a comparison to Uribe goes, Uribe is a solid ballplayer that can turn out to be a bargain for the next 3 or 4 years. I have no complaints with the signing of Uribe. I really don't feel that we threw a ton of money his way. I certainly like that signing much better than I would have liked the Sox signing Cabrera for what the Angels did. Hell, that's a no brainer. If I was Rowand, I wouldn't agree to sign a contract for what Uribe did. Rowand is a more complete player at this point. He is more consistant. But, I also feel the Sox are doing the right thing by making him prove he's capable of repeating or exceeding last year's production.- This year compared to last year....
Don't bet on it.- WSCR 670AM, MLB.com: "El Duque" agrees to deal
I say Garland will beat out Contreras.- WSCR 670AM, MLB.com: "El Duque" agrees to deal
Strawberry snorted his career away.- Contact Eckstein
I'm not all that familiar with Cora. But, I do like the way Eck plays the game. I'd be happy if we added him.- WSCR 670AM, MLB.com: "El Duque" agrees to deal
You're right. Not in Sox uniform .... if he's traded.- WSCR 670AM, MLB.com: "El Duque" agrees to deal
Thank you.- WSCR 670AM, MLB.com: "El Duque" agrees to deal
I question that mental toughness too. But, the dude is so very young and if you look at the stats these other guys put up at the same age or experience level, you'd realize that many of the Garland critics would have also been critical of these guys who went on to become studs. I don't know if Garland's got "it". But some of the best pitchers in the game today hadn't proved the had "it" at similar points in their careers. I'm just saying, don't give this guy away for someone who will never be a stud, though he may be a better pitcher than Garland is today. Garland does have a chance.- WSCR 670AM, MLB.com: "El Duque" agrees to deal
