  1. Not only is Hermanson not what we need in the starting rotation, but it will also weaken our bullpen ..... which will need to be stronger because Hermanson is in the rotation. Hermanson in the rotation as an emergency fill in only.
  2. Sounds good to me. Trade for Hudson, replace Garland with Clement. That'll work.
  3. Trade who for Hudson? .... Will the trade open up other holes in the team or rape our farm system? Overpay with players or money? Pick your poison.
  4. Well, I know that much. But what I want to know is if you were in Kenny's situation, what would you do about our starting pitching?
  5. I thought we were talking about Clement.
  6. You know, I agree that Clement hasn't done enough at this point to justify the White Sox investing this kind of money in him. The Sox are in a Damned if you do, damned if you don't situation here. What I'd like to know is, what do YOU think the Sox should do?
  7. From the Boston Globe: Of course the Red Sox are the other team in the mix. Sounds like they've pulled all the offers together and Clement will decide. If what we are hearing is true, I'm glad Clement's wife is involved in the decision.
  8. I think Frank has the first option. He can take it and the Sox are bound. If he passes, the Sox can either implement their option or pay the buyout.
  9. Really. This signing is a no brainer. I don't see how anyone can question it.
  10. Unless ESPN is wrong, he hit .283 last year.
  11. It appears that the Sox are one of 7 seven teams with offers on the table to Clement. All appear to be for 3 years at between 7 and 8 million per. That's based on articles in various newspapers around the country.
  12. The DBacks tried to reopen talks with the Yankees yesterday. KW must be playing some hardball with them.
  13. I think you have a firm grasp of the situation.
  14. I think $2.15 million for a .283 hitter is reasonable.
  15. This could turn out to be a real bargain for the Sox in the long run.
  16. The Sox avoided arbitration with shortstop Juan Uribe, reaching a three-year, $9.75 million deal, sources said. Uribe will make $2.15 million next season, $3.15 million in 2006 and $4.15 million in 2007. The team has a $5 million option for 2008 with a buyout of $300,000. This came out from the Podsednik article in the Sun Times.
  17. I'm glad you are feeling better. When you leave out Lee's character and Vizcaino, and the fact that marginally effective pitchers are going for big bucks right now, I can't argue with you.
  18. You guys are arguing both sides against the middle. First I get 2004 stats thrown in my face as not being a large enough sample size, though the career stats are used as well. I point out the career stat fact, and I get "they do not always reflect the guys current condition" in response, which is reflect by the 2004 stats. I give up. You guys win. Go celebrate.
