  1. Mark Murphy has been with the team since 2007 and Brian Gutekunst has been with the Packers since 1998. Brian Gutekunst is now the GM, but it's not like he is some unknown. I think he will take more risks than Thompson, but he isn't radically different.
  2. McDaniels is probably like Harbaugh. I want him as my coach for like 5 years. I like Adam Gase as well, but it's not like he doesn't have a history of causing problems with players. Matt Lafleur is the other coach I like. Being a former QB, I think he might work well with Rodgers.
  3. I trust the Packers that if they hire him they feel comfortable about him. They run a relatively conservative front office and aren't the kind of team to take a chance on someone they don't trust.
  4. The stuff in Denver is the bigger question mark for me. That thing with the Colts last year was dumb, but it wasn't 100% on him. The Colts jumped the gun and should have waited for the contract to be signed. He was offensive coordinator for two of the top five scoring offenses in NFL history and might be on his way to coach the QB who had the third highest. Now there is a lot of questions about him and I get the risk, but it is enticing. It's a lot more exciting than the prospects of Mike Munchak and Jim Caldwell coaching the Packers.
  5. His time with the Broncos is more concerning. His personal decisions were awful. That Rams gig was tough, that team was awful. I'm not sure Bill Walsh could have gotten anything out of that team.
  6. Part of the reason I like McDaniels is I think his quick rhythm passing attack is perfect for Aaron Rodgers in this point of his career. He needs to start taking less hits and a less "sand-box" approach to offense. Although just one game, but McDaniels offense had success against the Bears defensive this year and the Packers are going to have to deal with that defense for probably another two years. Now all the other stuff is concerning for sure. I just don't get the "Packers can do better". Who?
  7. Every coaching tree has good results and bad. For every Andy Reid and Steve Mariucci there is a Marty Mornhinweg and Ray Rhodes. Patriots coordinators that have fallen flat have been on the defensive side of the ball mostly. Bill O'Brien has had success in the NFL. Obviously Nick Saban is doing just fine at the college level and really wasn't all that bad in the NFL. I think if he came back to the NFL he would do well, he just isn't going to leave the situation he is in.
  8. I'm not sure what Belicheck has to do with McDaniels being a great offensive mind. Belicheck calls the defense. I don't know if McDaniels will be a great head coach, I could say that about every coach interviewing for a job every year. No one knows for sure, all of these coaches have good traits and bad traits. All I do know is that he is arguably the best offensive mind in football and the thought of him and Aaron Rodgers working together is exciting.
  9. All coaches are ego maniacs. I'm excited about getting arguably the best offensive mind in the NFL.
  10. He is either going to be the coach of the Packers or back in New England. If I had to guess he goes to Green Bay, otherwise why is even bothering interviewing with anyone.
  11. I think he might be a better head coach than OC. He seems to have a strong attitude for the job. I can see why the Bears were looking at him.
  12. I guess we can scratch Defilippo off the list of candidates for head coach next. Actually, I wouldn't totally write him off. The offense in Minn wasn't that bad and that o-line is a hot mess.
  13. They should have spent that 84 million on the o-line and kept Bridgewater
  14. 58 and 60 used to not be that old, but when teams are hiring guys who are 30 years old it makes them seem ancient. Offensive guy, but Bruce Arians is another guy who got a shot at a later age.
  15. I would think he could get a GM job. As long as he can convince people he had nothing to do with the Mack trade. He took a Raiders team that was a complete mess and made them a competitive team. Gruden ruined it in about 6 months.
  16. Mike Zimmer was a similar case. Wade Phillips would be the other person I can think of.
  17. McKenzie got a raw deal. If he dosen't get a job as GM, he could end up back in Green Bay.
  18. He could go to Green Bay with two first round picks, one being top 15 and 60 million in cap space. They don't have Hicks, but they have Kenny Clark. Not getting another Mack, but they options to add more than one pass rusher.
  19. I mean he wanted all those guys, so I don't quite think it was some sort of thing to scam the Bears. Although, I'm glad they missed on Robinson.
  20. Oh yeah, whether it's the NFL or CFB, he is going to get a big pay day. I don't really know if any other college coaches get looks. Maybe Chris Petersen from Washington. You have to wonder if the NFL is still the goal for some coaches, with how short the head coaching life is in the NFL. Some coaches might like the stability of CFB.
  21. Lincoln Riley would get hired in a second if he leaves Oklahoma. Now that his QB is going to be playing for the Oakland A's, there may be a chance he leaves college football. He is number one on my list.
  22. It's one thing I would worry about with someone like Fangio, if gets hired and puts someone like Zac Taylor as the OC in Green Bay. They have one good year on offense and he is going to get a head coaching job the next year. Than again there is not a ton of offensive guys available this year. They are all about a year or two away. I would be fine with hiring some young, but I think teams are gun shy with it. As far as not wanting to be a head coach, you win a championship as a head coach and you get all the glory. It would be hard to pass up that opportunity.
  23. Could be, but I think he is putting together a good enough resume that I think teams at least interview him. It took Mike Zimmer a while for some of the same reasons and it's work pretty well for him. I know people have said that he might not want to be a head coach, but if a team like the Packers come calling with Aaron Rodgers, I bet he would rethink that.
  24. I think Vic Fangio is going to get some head coaching looks this year. I bet the Packers bring him in for an interview.
  25. For sure, but if you sail three passes for INT on the road in New Orleans or L.A. You are in big trouble.
