QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:55 PM) Dye has had a fair amount of 3 strikeout games this year. He's been mostly damned good, but when he's bad, he's REALLY bad at the plate. However those games have been pretty rare and spread out.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:54 PM) Ugh...you have to be looking offspeed pitch there. That's what sucks, you knew he was going to pull the string, but you can't really ever sit offspeed since if you do, odds are he'll throw it 95 down the middle and you'll be caught watching a pitch you could have hit out to win the game sail by for strike 3.
-
Just not Jermaine's night. You knew he was going to throw that too since he showed his hand on the 3-2 to Brian. You can't sit offspeed though, kinda sucks but o well.
-
3-1 for Dye, Mack on 2nd. Interesting to see if they just put JD on, I doubt he sees anything to hit with this lineup.
-
Dye needs to sit dead red right here.....Burgos has a great fastball, but Jermaine could send one to the waterfall if he sits on it.
-
Good scouting by the Royals right there, 2 out for JD. Be a hero JD.....again...

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:47 PM) Great swing by Rob. Why not try a hit-and-run here? Because this guy has spectacular/erratic stuff, and Gooch will swing and miss against guys like this.
-
Another base hit for the best everyday LF/leadoff man option on the team.
-
Brian was sitting on the heat, and was about 14 minutes early on the offspeed stuff. Yikes, 1 out.
-
Here comes Burgos. MAKE HIM THROW STRIKES, if anybody swings at a first pitch and doesn't end up with extra bases, they should be doing 100 pushups.
-
Wow, 1st pitch and rack 'em up, Brown does us a HUGE favor and that's why they are the Royals. Let's get a run or two, get in Jenks, and get to the hotel.
-
And all 184 fans in attendance boo Ozzie. I'd put the odds at 1,413 to 1 that Riske gets out of this without us 3 outs from a loss.
-
You gotta be kidding me, where was everybody?
-
And thus, 2nd and 3rd nobody out leading to nothing comes back to get us. You could see that coming from a mile away, Teahan just kept battling till he got a cookie.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:29 PM) Thornton is Easy Heat. Alright, I'm rolling with that one, well done Heads.
-
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:29 PM) Is that you in your picture? Haha no, it's an Illini basketball recruit. I'd never be dumb enough to have a picture of myself up on this site, the heckling would never end.
-
Grudz simply has our number. Jesus, that wasn't even a bad pitch.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:26 PM) Teahen's turning into a damn good player, and Grudz is always a very tough out. Teahen is going to get them a nice return package when Gordon is ready, he's really coming along.
-
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:25 PM) Thornton needs a good nickname. I'm sticking with Eminem for MacDougal, no clue on what to call Thornton yet though.
-
Either Bobby Jenks, Mike MacDougal, or Matt Thornton has the 3rd best fastball in our bullpen. That's pretty funny.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:22 PM) I just put on the Cubs game, and much to my surprise, I saw Luis Vizcaino throw a slider. I'd be more surprised if it didn't land in the lake.
-
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:19 PM) Liriano got scratched for the Twins tomorrow night. He has a sore elbow. That's a shame...
-
QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:17 PM) Let's not go overboard here. There's only 2 players in today's lineup with an OPS over .800 for the month of July (Teahen and Grudz). It's a terrible lineup. I'm not saying we're playing the Red Sox or anything, but the Royals can hit, and it's a hot night with the ball flying, so that was nice for Mark. BIG insurance run on a big 2 out hit and RBI by Sandy, RBI single and double for him tonight. Sandy hitting like it's 1995 again.
-
BAD luck for Joe, he was trying to have a night right there (although he already has). Well done Cintron, caught them napping on the bunt and the fact that Teahen for some reason didn't put it in his pocket leads to a bad throw and Cintron moves to 2nd.

QUOTE(G&T @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:15 PM) PK out of game. Pods in to pinch hit...yikes. That pitch looked like it got PK in the funnybone......he should be ok IMO, but damn that had to hurt. Hopefully I'm right and it's precautionary. Well done Pods.
