We need Ed Harris from Major League to teach Freddy the Vaseline ball.

Is Baseball Tonight going to devote their whole show to how clutch Crede is tonight? If only we played on the Atlantic Ocean too...

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 10:30 PM) No matter what happens, thanks guys for a great thread tonight. Even if we had lost, I would have still enjoyed the game tonight due to it. Good thing I showed up to make it possible.

SOX WIN!!!! Bobby allows the homer, but gets save #29. Joe and Sandy with big nights, well done as well Gload and Buehrle, and a well deserved win for Riske. Despite being the Royals, that's a big win.

Easy $ for Alex, 2 outs.

Good pitch to a good hitter in DeJesus, 1 out. Jenks is a rare case, he's getting hurt because he is keeping the ball DOWN. Just throw belt high fastballs at 98 and nobody will hit him if he mixes in a few off speed pitches.

Wow did that thing carry.....but alas, not good Bobby.

Man Burgos must drive the 81 Royals fans in existence nuts. After he throws an inning like the 9th, he comes out and is a giant turd in the 10th.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 10:03 PM) That's a hell of a job by Riske, we need to get something for him in the 10th to get him a W for that effort. Well done boys, well done indeed.

Thatta boy Brian!! About time he got a hit with the contact he's made tonight, and he's rewarded with the RBI single.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 10:16 PM) Bobby will put em away, book it. Yep, great chance for redemtion. I believe he last outing against KC was his only other blown save this year in a game against them at The Cell. Here comes Joe, and he scores!! 6-4 Sox on the RBI Double for Ross Gload, another Professional Hitter Extrodinaire.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 10:15 PM) It took two batters to realize Ruffcorn sucked. Anyone else remember that early Saturday game in Cleveland? Yes I do, and it was pure sarcasm. The Scott Ruffcorn hype made me laugh since it was so obvious he sucked, and I was like 9 years old (if that) when he first came up.

QUOTE(Soxman72 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 10:14 PM) I am not able to watch the game because of WCIU and I have not been paying attention, but am I reading the box score right? Alomar with 2 RBI? What a great game - I hate WCIU Yep, RBI double that missed being a 2 run homer by about 3 feet, and then a clutch 2 out single which gave us a 4-2 lead in the 7th.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 10:13 PM) Lester is the greatest pitching prospect in history. He'll be fine. Scott Ruffcorn disagrees with this comment.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 10:05 PM) BoSox actaully just sent Lopez down today. KW turning a scrap heap LOOGY signing into Riske. Man is he a genius. Pods draws the DLW, make it hurt boys!!

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 10:04 PM) Pods, then Crede and then Cintron in the 10th. Pods at DH is as funny as having Timo as the DH last year in Yankee stadium. Pods needs to get on, then Crede needs to jack one. And then Cintron needs to go back to back. That reminds me of Ozzie's comments last July I believe when we had Joe DH a game while he was slumping. He was just laughing, talking about how low our offense had sunk since Joe was the DH. Classic stuff.

That's a hell of a job by Riske, we need to get something for him in the 10th to get him a W for that effort. My prediction: Sandy Alomar will be the hero.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 10:01 PM) Sandy Alomar goes about 8' 11''. Eats polar bears for lunch, and I once saw him scissor kick Angela Lansbury at a Dodgers game. He was actually about 9'3" in 1995, but has shrunk due to the old age.

Riske gets out the brush and paints 'em right there. Great pitch.

QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:57 PM) Yes, how dare I make an observation. I wasn't saying he was bad this year, nor was I trying to take anything away from his spectacular year, I was simply pointing out a fact. And your 100 percent right. All your saying (which is true) is that when Dye has a bad night....he tends to have a REALLY bad night. Doesn't change the great year he's having.
-
Sox @ KC - 8/1 Game Thread
He gone, Riske gets another favor from a Royals hitter as that pitch was about a foot too high.

QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:55 PM) Dye has had a fair amount of 3 strikeout games this year. He's been mostly damned good, but when he's bad, he's REALLY bad at the plate. However those games have been pretty rare and spread out.
