QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:15 PM) IF I was single and under 23 years of age, I'd bounce her. Well yeah obviously I'd do her too, but she's not like extraordinarily hot or anything, and certainly Lo Duca should know better than to cheat on his playmate wife with her and cause all this trouble. That, and cheating on your wife isn't all that honorable either.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:06 PM) And none of them were for anything more than mediocre talent. Well Bray is going to be good, and they haven't been stupid enough to rush up Homer Bailey yet, so I guess it could be worse in theory. But your right that the trades overall were bad and that the Reds aren't very good. The Reds have a shot at that division though if they win the next 2 nights with Harang and Arroyo vs. St. Louis.

Hmm she's a babe and she says she's bi......Paulie has quite a catch there, except for the whole being married thing, lol.

QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 01:41 PM) AIGH! Sport cliche's are trying to eat my eyes!!!! Somebody needs to create a cartoon character named "cliche man"......that would be awesome, even though I HATE cliches.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 04:20 PM) He's been doing great and if you check out our interview with John Sickels, you'll see that he thinks Lance will be in the majors next year. I'd be very surprised if he doesn't, especially with the way our pitching has performed this season. Lance and B-Mac will be a fun duo to watch in the future.

The higher powers of this nation would be amazed to see how much usage would go down if it were legal. Legalizing it takes away all the fun. (And no, I'm not a pothead.....I wish I had that excuse ).

QUOTE(ive stopped believin @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 11:42 AM) I thought that Rob Weller, that douche bag TV dude was the one who invented the wave when he was a cheerleader at U of Washington I thought it was invented at early 80's soccer games in Mexico, and snuck across the border in time for the 1984 NLCS in San Diego. Seems to be a controversy as to who actually invented this traveshamockery. -
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 10:32 AM) He'll be just fine. I'm more shocked when I hear that baseball players are faithful than I am when a story like this comes out. She's a hot 19 year old....his street cred just went sky high. Well I mean a ballplayer cheating on his wife isn't a big deal, but when your the catcher and one of the faces of the franchise which is the best team in the NL, it could present problems as a distraction. And yeah, not enough pics to judge this girl, but hey boning a 19 year old is a good time. Also, she is full of crap saying she didn't know who Lo Duca was.....why else would some just legal teen be doing a 30 something year old? It's all about the $.
-
Haha I'd have loved to see that myspace page. Lo Duca is SO screwed, the Mets are going to have to trade him or something, else he'll be eaten alive in that town.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 02:18 AM) I was on board with the Thome move but it's getting to the point where if it's close between the two (as it's getting closer) I would rather have Frank for the simple reason that he's the legacy with the team. It may not make the team better, but it's Frank. When you throw in Rowand to the equation it's pretty debatable. I'd agree with you if it were actually that close, but it's not. Thome has 34 (I think) homers and near 90 RBI's with an OPS of near 1.100 while being healthy all year, which as good as Frank has been, blows his ass away (plus remember, Thome is a lefty as well). As for Rowand, he's down to .255 and his offensive numbers are better than Anderson's, but not by all that much. As a matter of fact, Anderson has been a far superior hitter to Rowand the last 6 weeks now, and Anderson is also a better defender *ducks for cover*. The Thome trade itself may not look great one day since we gave up Haigwood and Gio, but the Rowand/Thomas for Thome/Anderson swap in this lineup is the only reason we're not 5 or 6 out of the Wild Card IMO.

Jenks hasn't been good in those coming in during the inning spots, for him to step up and keep it a 1 run game was maybe bigger than the 2 doughnuts he tossed up after that. It is only 1 game, but in a stretch this tough, it can be HUGE, hopefully this builds momentum.
-
Wilson Betemit with a homer to tie it at 2 in the 7th in LA. Why the hell did Atlanta trade this guy for Aybar and sorry ass Danys Baez? Baez has been good for ATL, but they aren't making the playoffs and he will remember that he blows, and Betemit is a GREAT guy to have considering Chipper is hurt so much.

Paulie's homer saved the game, JD the MVP's single won the game, and this one might have saved the season. HUGE win....if somebody would steal Mack's glove this would be a perfect night.
-
2nd hottest hitter on the team bunting?? Hmm....
-
Thank God Paulie!!! Saving the day, wewt.
-
Felix, your question about Cotts.....he should have never came into the game. I'd have gone with Riske before him without question.

QUOTE(S720 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 10:01 PM) Stick this in your mind. Anderson CAN NOT play 162 games. There will be games when he NEEDs to be replaced, and if we end up losing those games, so be it! And stop blaming every fishing thing on Ozzie. If Ozzie played Mack in center once every 2 weeks to rest BA, then ok. But not every other or 3rd day, that simply will expose his shortcomings, mainly in the field.
-
QUOTE(S720 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 09:58 PM) It's just so childish and absurd to see that every fishing move Ozzie makes is being fishing criticized! My apologies for paying attention. Won't happen again. Also, very cool to see Hawk giving a shout out to Heads, even if Heads won't admit that shout out was specifically refering to him.
-
QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 09:58 PM) Exactly. Some people are reaching for someone to b**** about. Reaching?? IF we lose tonight, it would be our 7th or 8th loss on the year due exclusively to a bad play in CF by Mack in a close game. Shouldn't Ozzie get the message here that you can't put him out there? Plus, Brian hits righties better than lefties anyways.
-
QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 09:55 PM) I turned the game on after the Yankees scored most of their runs (caught the bottom of the 3rd), but I don't see how Ozzie can be blamed for this. He has to play Mack in CF, and his error in the 1st cost us the run that is the current difference in the score. That and the fact he keeps putting Cotts in during big spots when he's probably our worst bullpen option right now. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 09:57 PM) I can't say anything about that simply because I missed the first few innings. Who do you want him to bring in? Clearly its not Cotts, and the rest of the bullpen is basically used other than Riske. Anybody but Cotts, ESPECIALLY against lefties, who he can't get out right now at all.
-
Now Ozzie brings in Jenks in a NSS in the middle of an inning. He's aware that Jenks sucked coming in this type of spot BEFORE his recent struggles right?? Why wouldn't Jenks start this inning if he's coming in?? *shakes head*
-
Having Thornton pitch to one of the most patient hitters in the game, bringing Cotts in in a non mop up spot, or Mack being in center, which gave the Yanks the run that is why they had a lead starting the 9th. Which move is the worst one by Ozzie tonight?? At usual, there are multiple candidates.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 07:01 AM) I really believe we will see a nuclear or atomic weapon detonated in our lifetime as an act of terrorism, not as an act of war. Agreed. I don't think a nation will be insane enough to use a nuke, however a terrorist group will. And that event will probably be sonner rather than later.

Rivals rankings for basketball are a total joke up until their final rankings of the class. The rest of the rankings are just biased towards un committed players in order to try and sell more subscriptions for pay stories. If they put a bunch of guys who have already decided on their school in the top 10, nobody will want to read it, whereas they can sell stories full of rumors by putting undecided guys up higher in the rankings.

I may be wrong here, but didn't the wave originate during the 1984 NLCS games at San Diego, the 3 game string in which the Cubs blew a 2-0 lead and lost a chance to win the pennant?? I wasn't born yet so I figured i'd ask, but I think that's why Cubs fans especially dislike the wave.
