  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 05:15 PM) That was just terrible by Jermaine...didn't even look like he was trying to move AJP over to 3rd base. jd has never looked capable of doing this
  2. jesus, i just did some research cindy sandberg got with BOTH martinez and Raffy Palmeiro? before his commercials came out, i'm sure.
  3. Good. I want to see some baseball where the other team gets their soul crushed at the plate for awhile.
  4. On top of all this, Wise has shown an ability to grab a bat and PH Has to be on this roster next yr, no question.
  5. really surprised paulie took a pitch there. OK griff first career bunt?
  6. maybe it's b/c upton was lackadaisacal as usual but couldnt thome have gotten into 3rd
  7. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 04:44 PM) Nice inning John, I'm glad you're on the team I root for Floyd and Danks give me so much hope for the future. Now we really can go back to stopgap vets this offseason and contend again. Worst case scenario, obviously.
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 04:39 PM) Beat me to it. well it's kinda the point that he had a blip amidst a continued bad streak. so 'phew' as in he's back to normal.
  9. 2/3oftheearthiscoveredbywatertheotherthirdiscoveredbykengriffeyjunior.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 04:37 PM) Yeah, that 4-5 last game sucked. will try to be more positive, thanks.
  11. Whoa that cut away to the mysterious room was like David Lynch stuff.
  12. We're all like squinting and pretending these guys are already their 2009 replacements.
  13. If Wise could take walks I'd say give him 4th OF no questions asked. Other guy just cant hit, flat out. wow phew.
  14. i'm currently doing my 'well we gotta score one run to win anyways' rationalizing.
  15. QUOTE (MAX @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 09:30 AM) Dye slowing down and playing crappy D is nothing more than yet another soxtalk myth. Are you saying he's never going to slow down?? I mean, he'll be 80 at some point
  16. Thing is we can make all these guesses, but what KW will inevitably end up doing is make the move no one talked about CQ,Alexei, Iguchi, Pods trade etc
  17. QUOTE (MO2005 @ Oct 4, 2008 -> 08:55 AM) See I wouldn't trade Swisher because we need someone who can draw some walks, make the pitcher throw more pitches, etc. etc. There are too many players on this team that cannot draw a walk and swing at crap pitches! This was my thinking at the beginning of the year, but Swisher does strike out a lot. He often cant even get a bat on the ball... so really he's like Thome in the sense that he can walk, strikeout or homer.
