We had a lot of great Ferrari ideas, let’s put it that way.” Scott Merkin ‏@scottmerkin 4m4 minutes ago Scottsdale, AZ More KW: "It’s like going down to the Ferrari dealership when you can only afford a Volkswagen. It kind of is what it is in some cases... 2. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 5m5 minutes ago Question for #Orioles is whether they would give up No. 14 pick for Gallardo if they fear he’s hurt. Fowler also would require loss of pick. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 5m5 minutes ago Sources: #Orioles concerned with Gallardo’s physical, as @jeffpassan said. Could try to restructure contract or back out entirely.
  3. Could this affect Fowler to Baltimore? It could be the O's only want to go all-in if they can truly go...all-in. Maybe Gallardo's physical is holding up the Fowler contract offer to be officially made.... Roch Kubatko ‏@masnRoch 21m 21 minutes ago Told there's "more work to do" on Gallardo physical. Diagnostic tests. So.....stay tuned #orioles Jeff PassanVerified account ‏@JeffPassan Source: Questions have come up with Yovani Gallardo's physical with Baltimore. Status of deal is unclear. O's notorious medical sticklers.
  4. a word from the used: Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeyman 12s13 seconds ago Rollins deal makes sense for chisox. Untested Tyler saladino is the other ss option. Rollins a plus off field, too.
  5. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 18s19 seconds ago Rollins, per source, rejected 2 teams that offered super-utility jobs and guaranteed deals for more $. Wanted chance to win SS job with CWS.
  6. i too see Rollins as the starting guy. if you're going for it, you play all the higher ceiling cards first and milk it. Saladino is 26 so i dont really see much mystery there. He's a defense-first player, period

  8. for what it's worth, daily dish thinks gallardo's deal might make an O's Fowler signing ...less..likely. Not many are saying that though http://www.mlbdailydish.com/2016/2/20/1107...yovani-gallardo
  9. The revelation that we're in the market for an OF today..is...a real stunner
  10. Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN 28s28 seconds ago Sources: The expectation of O's is that they will finish deals with both Gallardo and Fowler; Fowler expected to be BAL's right fielder.

  12. Not discussed tons, but can we trade for Bruce AND sign Ajax....and then just bench LaRoche or have him compete for the DH job? Bruce as DH actually would be another hole elimination (and he could fit into the OF mix if needed)
  13. OK Back to rumors http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/jose-re...spension-021616 It’s difficult to imagine Desmond’s price dropping to the point where the Rays could justify forfeiting their first-round pick, No. 13 overall. The White Sox, meanwhile, are more focused on adding an outfielder through free agency or trade, sources say. The Sox, like the Rockies, hold a protected pick, No. 10 overall. They conceivably could sign both Desmond and free-agent outfielder Dexter Fowler and sacrifice their next two selections, currently Nos. 28 and 49. But they also might be content to play Tyler Saladino at short until top prospect Tim Anderson is ready, perhaps later this season.

  15. News: Please happen soon. I beg of you
  16. WAR:What is it followed for?
  17. OOOH also this about the Orioles.. The team’s first choice is to follow the expected signing of free-agent right-hander Yovani Gallardo with the signing of free-agent outfielder Dexter Fowler. But if Fowler joins, say, the White Sox, the Orioles’ backup plan appears to be a trade for Reds right fielder Jay Bruce. It goes on to discuss how the Orioles' backup plan is Bruce and how a trade seems nearly worked out as a Plan B
  18. Rosenthal's latest Reports of the White Sox’s interest in Dodgers right fielder Andre Ethier were overstated. The team, however, is active on multiple fronts; the addition of Fowler or another outfielder would make right fielder Avisail Garcia expendable, and other scenarios surely are in play. Also says the Sox interest in Desmond is overstated. http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/gallard...osenthal-021216
  19. Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes 27s27 seconds ago @Straycats23 I believe both sides are interested in a good deal.
  20. Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeyman 1m1 minute ago Makes sense chisox are weighing desmond. With Frazier plus return to norms for holdover hitters they have look of contender Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeyman 11s12 seconds ago White sox like current ss favorite Tyler saladino but he's a defensive whiz with versatility to play multiple positions
  21. Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeyman 2m2 minutes ago Chisox are among teams considering Desmond. He'd be good fit there, better than another OF. Will discuss on @MLBNetwork at 6
  22. QUOTE (Dunt @ Feb 10, 2016 -> 04:08 PM) Sox brass is going to get pounded if Avi is your starting RFer Austin Jackson and a nice three high picks come draft time to rebuild the recently lost prospects is going to sit well with me. Fowler doesnt do much for a moribund OF defense.
  23. Maybe finally things start moving this morning: Buster OlneyVerified account ‏@Buster_ESPN Executives believe it'll be very difficult for Dexter Fowler to get more than the 2-year, $20 million deal that Howie Kendrick got from LAD.
  24. Have to think Erik Johnson does you more good in your org right now than as trade bait. Sure he's under team control, but he's in that category along with a bunch of other guys leaguewide who would likely have equal middling value on the trade market. Johnson had a bounceback year of sorts last year, but the peripherals indicate he has problems still.
  25. I'd actually call this almost notable, as you could see a scenario where we have to call up a 1b during the year...and I dont know that the farm has ready-now options. Since Matt Davidson is entering non-prospect territory now, he could be a 1b call up if someone were hurt too.
