  1. https://twitter.com/DannyEcker/status/722172305531674624 Tribune article explains how US Cellular and the Lucas Museum are sort of linked in Rahm's new proposal http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/p...0418-story.html
  2. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 09:15 PM) But again, the chances of that injury happening are far less than 1%. The chances of MN coming back, scoring 3+ runs, and that AB meaning something, are more than 1%. ABSOLUTE worst-case scenario, Navarro gets hurt in the 2.5 innings, and we have to go with Saladino/Lawrie at catcher (since they used to be catchers), but the odds of that happening are puny. Navarro getting hurt would be an unsolvable disaster for the game. You are introducing a worst case scenario that costs you the game, in exchange for a reward that really isnt that large at all when you are up 3.
  3. QUOTE (LDF @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 08:43 AM) i have a history of ripping on the owners b/c of their.... so called frugalness. the sox should have had more than 1 Ws flag. from a front office perspective, 2006 was a better team than 05. FO did their job on that one-- 06 team just did not get it done on the field (despite still being very good). Fell victim to the chaos that is baseball more than anything else.
  4. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 01:34 PM) Rollins really does not need to play playing 90% of the games. How can this be such a sure notion 22 PAs in, though?
  5. QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 01:13 PM) Really wish he'd be getting some more ABs. Rollins hasn't really shown me much. We need more of a sample size on JR though. That 2014 Rollins season is better than anything you can get from Saladino even from his fully realized ceiling. So you have to exhaust the small chance you can still get that '14 production from him. And it takes more than a handful of atbats to determine it.
  6. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 12:18 PM) Sucks for Saladino He is a backup so actually this major league promotion is fantastic news for him
  7. Navarro will be facing a righty. Hm. I am still not clear if the Sox are assigning catchers to pitchers somewhat, or if it's based on pro-offense matchups
  8. Scott Merkin ‏@scottmerkin 4m4 minutes ago Chicago, IL Adam Eaton joining his wife who is in labor with their first child. Congratulations to their family!
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 09:12 AM) Has Sands played yet? His is still the roll I just don't get where it will work. I'd rather have a long man for when Danks has his "nothing" starts. I think Sands is here just to be a guy that still has some ceiling left. If he gets his chance he may finally deliver on the promise of his MiLB numbers. Also, he kills lefties and that'll serve a PH need down the road. He has shown he can grab a bat cold in small sample size (1.032 career ops as PH)
  10. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 07:07 PM) I wanted 8-10 runs today and got 6. I'll take it. 8-10 runs??? I feel like you would find me to be bad in bed.
  11. If Hawk calls that out, he's out by a mile then
  12. Phil Rogers ‏@philgrogers 4m4 minutes ago Research by Baseball America shows 21 players drafted by @whitesox in big leagues. Only five organizations have more.
  13. Wow, now it sounds like David Holmberg may be back too. The gang is all back
  14. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 5, 2016 -> 11:13 PM) I've liked the ABs by Jackson so far Yes - he looks like just right as that 2 WAR (good glove, near-OK bat) and you need guys like that.
  15. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 5, 2016 -> 10:45 PM) Christopher Kamka ‏@ckamka 2m2 minutes ago First #WhiteSox HR of season (last 6 seasons) 2016: Frazier 2015: Abreu 2014: de Aza 2013: Flowers 2012: Dunn 2011: Dunn 2014 was that opening day where De Aza had an all-world 2 HR day
  16. James Fegan ‏@JRFegan 3m3 minutes ago Blair Walters is back in the Sox organization, so they have now recovered two of three arms they sent to Houston in the Brett Myers trade
  17. Andy Van Psych ‏@cronebender 1m1 minute ago How stark the contrast is on John Danks of last year & John Danks of the prior few years. So much rides on which one shows up this yr (1/3) Andy Van Psych ‏@cronebender 35s36 seconds ago The Soothing: if we add up the 32 starts in 2005 between Duque and McCarthy, it equals John Danks' 2015 WAR from 30 starts (2/3) Andy Van Psych ‏@cronebender 31s32 seconds ago The Scalding: 2012 to 2014 WAR for pitchers with more than 350 innings in the span. Danks is #98 of 98, and the #97 guy doubles him. (3/3)
  18. dan durkin ‏@djdurkin 26s26 seconds ago #Bears announced they've signed S Omar Bolden to a one-year contract.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 31, 2016 -> 02:49 PM) Interesting to compare his FIP and ERA by year ERA from 2012 to 2015 3.25 3.78 3.23 4.91 FIPs from 2012 to 2015 4.38 4.45 4.89 5.01 Was gonna say - the buzz the last few days is that he has more success than his peripherals indicate he should
  20. Absolutely I'm behind this. We talk about LH hitting but deep down we all know Ventura loves Shuck, and he'll likely matter as a result. I'll say this: Shuck would improve us defensively if he can push Melky to DH some. The bigger need is starting pitching. in a not farfetched scenario we may have TWO starter voids and that is terrifying. In MG we could get a guy that is just-alright. He'd be better than Carroll. Erik Johnson is AAAA material right now. Beck is there but a win-now team cant be relying on that.
  21. Adam Caplan ‏@caplannfl 30s30 seconds ago Teams have been informed that they're out of the race to sign C/G Ted Larsen, so expect him to sign with the #Bears.
  22. I'd DH him over Avi. He hits righties OK. While his pitches per plate appearance tend to be league normal, he has great career (& recent years) contact rates - out of zone, in zone, all of it.
