  1. QUOTE (fathom @ May 14, 2011 -> 05:34 PM) They'll put Viciedo back at 3b. NO. You are not doing this. You are not screwing with Morel the same way you screwed with Anderson. Committing to him and then benching him constantly. And you are not moving Viciedo to another **** new position for the 3rd time in 3 years. NO. Terrible idea.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ May 14, 2011 -> 05:32 PM) Shocking Morel with a weak out to the right side. Lucky for him, Teahen is injured. Sounds like Hawk is preparing us for the Viciedo era to start soon. Only if Pierre is moving to 3b.
  3. The best argument that the Forbes numbers are right is that using them you could predict exactly what the Sox would do last offseason. Forbes said the Sox made $25 million with a $100 million team payroll last year. Suddenly, the Sox go "All In" and they're paying $125ish million. That's too good of a coincidence.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 14, 2011 -> 04:55 PM) Seriously, Morel hit a weak pop up. That's the linedriviest weak popup I've ever seen.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 14, 2011 -> 04:54 PM) Well, at least the pitcher doesn't have to lead off next inning for us. Just have to shake your head at our 6-7-8-9-1 today. The 7 and 9 hitters nailed the ball and the #8 hitter got our first hit.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ May 14, 2011 -> 04:52 PM) Probably would have been only way he could be productive. I still can't believe he's playing today. He nailed the ball on pitch 2, just right at the RF. Hardest hit ball we've had I think.
  7. Please tell me Brent Morel is not sacrificing with 1 out and a man on 1b.
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 14, 2011 -> 04:50 PM) So Gavin's got nothing? I'm following on gameday. He's snapped off a couple good pitches but he's got no consistency, and the fastball is generally up so far.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ May 14, 2011 -> 04:45 PM) Crisp twice, Willingham, Kouz, and Barton have hit him hard. There's no life on Gavin's pitches today. Again, how does Humber pitching yesterday make Gavin have no life on his pitches?
  10. "That's a little high little wide" on a pitch 3 feet out of the zone. Nice Uecker impression, Hawk.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ May 14, 2011 -> 04:42 PM) Gavin's determined to throw 80% of his pitches tonight above the belt. He doesn't look comfortable at all on the mound. I really hope we start separating him and Humber in the rotation. The A's haven't exactly hit him hard or looked like they're exceptionally on the ball, Gavin's just been inconsistent in the zone. Unless Humber took Floyd out to celebrate, that is a solution for the wrong problem.
  12. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 14, 2011 -> 04:37 PM) 10 in loss column. Way too early in the season to be looking at that.
  13. Some solid curveballs have been snapped off in these first 2 batters.
  14. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 14, 2011 -> 04:33 PM) Talking about Forbes' numbers? Maybe they're conservative. The Astros are going to be sold for $680M and they had them valued at $474M. Isn't there part of a cable network included in that deal (which Forbes wouldn't include in the team valuation).
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 14, 2011 -> 04:31 PM) I have no problem with your prediction. But as far as the regular season goes, LeBron missed the first game. Bosh's 1/18 was a total aberration in the second game. And the last game in March could've gone either way, as Deng won it with two FTs off a questionable foul off a FT miss. The Celtics were 3-1 against the Heat in the regular season. That should pretty much eliminate regular season records. It's entirely possible that this Bulls team is a better team than the Heat saw in the regular season as well.
  16. Rios could not possibly have swung the bat farther away from that pitch. He'd have gotten closer to it if it was a pitchout.
  17. Carlos didn't look too comfortable with the ump up there.
  18. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 14, 2011 -> 04:18 PM) 10 games is a lot to make up. We're 9 back.
  19. Was I the only one nervous when they left the ball for Pierre?
  20. G struggling to get the ball down.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ May 14, 2011 -> 04:13 PM) Rongey today was saying how he started slow last year, and ended up having a good season. His views of a good season must be different than ours. Well, being worth a win more than a replacement player probably counts under most people's definition. The problem is, his defense this year has already been so bad that it can't carry him to being a useful player again.
  22. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 14, 2011 -> 04:10 PM) Does JP ever get a hit? Man he's horrible Yeah, it's been a while.
