Did it look to anyone else like Seattle has better pizza than the cell?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 7, 2011 -> 11:00 PM) And that will drive your manager and pitching coach crazy, Gavin. Between Jackson and Floyd, two of the most enigmatic talents in the game in one rotation. That pitch to Kennedy was the definition of center-cut. Whichpart, the leadoff walk or pitching over it?

That first pitch to Lexi was an awesome pitch to hit. Edit: and he didn't swing. 2nd pitch...much better pitch, and Lexi swung.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 7, 2011 -> 10:42 PM) I thought they'd bring it up a notch now that the postseason is here. They could have put this series to bed with a win tonight. I expected maximum effort. Instead, it almost seems like they're trying to play rope-a-dope today. I've seen no reason to believe that LBJ mentally picks it up in the postseason...not since 2008 at least. The last 2 years he's been a prime postseason quitter too, and his team has followed.

QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 7, 2011 -> 10:47 PM) Agreed. I just wish he got his head out of his ass and just swung the bat freely. No thinking, nothing. Just get up there and swing, just like he did in 2009, when he was, in my mind, the closest thing we ever had to Frank Thomas coming through our system. He was just awesome. On another note, I believe Alex Rios is waking up. Hopefully its not too late. His problem is...he has a legit mechanical problem, and has had it since he was drafted. He has a big timing mechanism step, and that slows him down in responding to a good fastball. If he's perfectly right he takes that fastball hard to RF for a double, but that timing mechanism is why we see him go into these huge slumps.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 7, 2011 -> 10:47 PM) If he had power, it would have gone out, lol. It was out, the CF brought it back. In Safeco, nonetheless.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 7, 2011 -> 10:38 PM) Seems like the Heat were almost willing to concede this game early in the second half. Pretty lame effort thus far. Duh, you think the Hawks are a mentally weak team, you get a double digit lead early on the Heat and they give up quicker than any team in the league.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 7, 2011 -> 10:37 PM) Yeah, it's time people give them and the Royals their props. Both are .500 teams at WORST and that might be enough to be in it until the final week. I think you're only right if both of them make trades/call up pitching and wind up getting success out of it.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 7, 2011 -> 10:28 PM) I think his left arm is still not right, Im surprised they have him in there with this lead. He's running on adrenaline and they probably want him to stretch it out more now & get more used to the feel.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 7, 2011 -> 10:33 PM) It should be 7-0. But it isn't. By the end of the month, we'll be up 9-0 in games like this wondering how the hell this happened.

Man, Dunn ripped that ball to the point that the cameraman couldn't follow it, and it still got caught.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2011 -> 10:30 PM) Alexei seems extra impatient with runners on lately. Terrible ABs for him the last few nights. I think that soudns like the whole team, they see a runner on and they want to be the hero.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 7, 2011 -> 10:16 PM) Yeah. Oh for those days. He may be as bad as Kotsay now, wouldn't u all agree? He's abysmal. Except for the position he's playing, yes, he's playing like last year's Kotsay. I still expect him to pick it up from here, he started like this last year too

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 7, 2011 -> 10:15 PM) Well, maybe Beckham's starting to turn for the better. MAYBE. You're calling that as possible from what, 1 at bat?

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 7, 2011 -> 10:14 PM) AJ to me seems to be a pretty smart guy. OK, he must know that he at this point in time is probably the worst hitter in baseball. He knows he is slower than any ballplayer alive. He knows that he is a serious DP candidate there. So he hits it right at the ss for the easy DP. Now can't he just try to hit into a double play and then maybe he'll actually line a single? Can't he try, uh, something different? Aj was always at his best when every other at bat he'd flip the ball over the SS for a single, not on a line, just a near-bloop.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 7, 2011 -> 09:59 PM) Wade just took Rondo down and I think Rondo's arm is seriously f***ed... He's back on the bench. I didn't see the play, did you think it was deliberate?

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 7, 2011 -> 09:36 PM) Speaking for fans on both sides of the city, when there is no salary cap in your sport, and your team is regularly in the top 10 in money spent and ticket cost, I think it's OK to be a little greedy. Last year, the 2 teams in the W.S. were #10 and #28 in salary. I think it's time to realize that there's more than just salary.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 7, 2011 -> 09:59 PM) I guess there's no longer enough fans who care to spend their Saturday on White Sox baseball to even get upset. So I drank my first mint julep and was watching Heat/Celtics. Gimme a break.
