2010-2011 NBA Thread
One note on tonight's game. I want to cheer for the Knicks, because they're not the Celtics, I want the Celtics battered, beaten, and out... But yet... I want it to be us who takes out the Celtics. After that series in 2009....I want it to be us.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 06:27 PM) There's only certain posters opinions there I respect anyways. I don't blame them though, I thought Paul's knee was shot. WIth a PG who relies on quickness so much, his knee doesn't need to be "Shot" for him to not be the player he could have been. A little bit of weakness in there and that's it. THat's why I want the Bulls to take care of business this year.

QUOTE (Felix @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 06:13 PM) This game is exactly why Paul is a better player than Rose right now (which is not a shot at Rose, but Paul is that good). With any luck, by the middle of June, everyone's going to be changing their tune on this.

First time since the NBA went to a 4 round playoff that both the 1 and 2 seeds from a conference have lost game 1

Juan Pierre
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 05:08 PM) I've always been a Juan Pierre fan. But this is ridiculous. What will it take for Ozzie to bench this clown for a few days? Yeah, that .317 batting average and .354 OBP are ridiculous. WE NEED TO LOSE MORE GAMES OZZIE!

U.S. launches airstrikes on Libya
QUOTE (mr_genius @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 04:58 PM) Oh well. France and Britain were not prepared. Gaddafi wins. I can deal with this outcome. You know full well that teh real outcome is that they resume having the U.S. do everything.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 04:52 PM) Even a single wouldn't have scored two runs there unless it was hit to right field. Yes it would have. Rios had a huge lead and would have been off with the pitch.

OMG what the f*** is this crap? First half highlights to a godawful 12 second version of I think Faith Hill or someone like her trying to sing the opening lyrics of Zeppelin's "Black Dog"?

Rough call for strike one.

Pierre's been really good in this kinda spot this season.

Ok, I'll applaud the decent bunt and it avoids the DP.
-
Angels @ White Sox, Sunday 1:10 PM, CSN
Good AB alex... now stay out of the DP Aj. Sadly, he's going to be asked to bunt here, and Aj isn't very good at that.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 04:36 PM) With Dunn, I was talking about his inability to hit sac flies, etc. Didn't he go like 2 years without one? Yes. From 2004-2005. He's since averaged 4-5 per year. Anyone else you want to judge based on what they did in 2004?

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 04:33 PM) If you're talking about the Felix thread, I was being sarcastic. However, he's notorious for being a bad situational hitter. Just like Jim Thome, he's notorious for being a bad situational hitter because people only pay attention to the bad situations and expect him to succeed 100% in clutch times otherwise they boo. His career OPS in high-leverage situations is higher than medium-low. Anyone who writes and believes what you just wrote deserves ridicule.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 04:04 PM) I thought we had the dominant staff. Not when the Angels rotation goes Haren, Weaver, Haren, Weaver, Harweave. That's impossible to beat when you can throw starters 3-5 out like that.
-
Angels @ White Sox, Sunday 1:10 PM, CSN
That was a terrible 3-0 strike call.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 04:00 PM) Haren has been 3-2 count alot and no walks dam! Haren has 2 walks coming into today in 3 starts and 1 relief appearance. He's gone to a full count 15 times in his first 4 games.

That was disturbingly close to our solo HR.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 03:53 PM) One thing I love about Buerhle is how focused he remains even when giving up a lot of hits. In the 7th he comes back against a good hitter and induces the GIDP Technically there was no "GI" there.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 03:49 PM) Haha, so Buehrle starts the 7th inning when he's getting hammered at 90 pitches? Ozzie's such an idiot. This is your definition of getting hammered? We're going on an 11 game in 11 day road trip following this one, we don't have an offday in about 3 weeks, and Ozzie's an idiot for not going to his bullpen. RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 03:47 PM) This is why the blown saves are such a kick in the nuts because when you face a Weaver and Haren you have no room for error. Now this statement is one I can find fully accurate.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 03:41 PM) It's still early but you can't go getting swept at home by teams like the Angels with the salaries we have. When you're facing Weaver and Haren...you're in trouble if you don't win game 1.
