No idea who that is, and not sure it's worth my time to google it.

#3 pick for the Bills, so if Luck comes out, they have their pick of QB's not named Luck.

Is 2011 make or break for Ozzie?
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jan 3, 2011 -> 01:07 AM) If the team doesn't win this year, it will more than likely go into rebuild mode. If that's the case, a new manager and possibly general manager would come along with it. Trouble with that thinking is...if the team doesn't win this year, it's most likely because guys like Dunn, Konerko, and Peavy didn't produce. In other words...the expensive guys you'd want to trade off would be the ones underproducing.

2010-11 MLB Offseason Catch-All
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 08:02 PM) Rangers closing in on Beltre with 5 year deal. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2011/01/rang...-to-beltre.html The number there is $85 mil/5 years. If that winds up being the final number, then on an annual basis, Beltre is more expensive than Crain + Dunn. On a total contract basis, Beltre would make almost as much as Konerko and Dunn combined.

Arguments for keeping managers, Dunn's value, etc.
QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 3, 2011 -> 12:09 AM) I expect Morneau to be traded in a few years if he rebounds from the concussions. Morneau is signed through the end of the 2013 season, at which point he'll be 32 going on 33.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 07:00 PM) With the way this game is going, I wouldn't want to be tied with them fighting for their playoff lives...I don't want them to resort to something dirty. They don't want any of their guys suspended for next week either though.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 06:21 PM) Cutler had to wait for his receivers to get downfield and it was too late by the time he realized it. Still, he has to have a better clock in his head.

When does GB start gambling on 4-down-series here? Especially if the other option is punting in hester's direction.

That's about as bad of a red zone series as you can possibly see.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 05:37 PM) That's definitely the argument against it, but you don't see that happening in college. I think that's the difference between the talent and coaching level between the 2 sports. I think Belichik would be all over that type of coaching if you gave them the chance.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 05:33 PM) I am in favor of the college version of pass interference of all 15-yard penalties. Too many times, teams get 55-yard penalties for very borderline PIs (sometimes not even legitimate). There's a reason why the NFL doesn't do that. Coaches will tell people that if they're beat on the long ball, just leap and tackle the guy before the ball gets there. I think the way to do it is that it needs to be reviewable, so that a ref can overrule the call on the field on a 50 yard PI call if the video is clear.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 05:29 PM) Going forward though, I like the Packers' offense more. Going forward this season? Depends on whether playoff football = effective running like it did 15 years ago, or whether you can get away with winning a passing game contest. Going forwards next year? Clearly Rogers > EManning, but that is really developing into a solid WR corps around Manning, and they have a better pair of running backs right now, although they keep fumbling. The thing I would say is that both of them seem to have this weird relationship with their coach. The Giants seem to be able to kill anyone when they get up for a game, but they get up for a game a few times a season. The Packers seem to be ready to play, but they don't know how to stay under control and minimize the mistakes.
