I'm sure part of it related to me having been like 5, but I always enjoyed the original version.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2009 -> 11:52 AM) Cubs are making winning baseball games seem very easy now. With Manny out, there's little question they're the best in the NL. I'd say there's plenty of question of that.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 16, 2009 -> 11:41 AM) Who the heck I am thinking of then? Big man, who was supposed to be a big timer in the NBA and was a huge flop, from the same time frame... Does that ring a bell for anyone? Are you thinking of William Bedford? 6th pick in 86 draft by the suns, 7 footer, out of what was then called Memphis State? Currently in a Texas prison on a drug transportation bust?

It appears that the "Revenge of the Fallen" contains a reworking of the song "The Touch" from the classic 1980's version of Transformers. Frankly, I think it's awful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3_EXxwDpq0
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2009 -> 11:33 AM) For those not watching, the Sox actually threw a purpose pitch!! High and in on Rios. Why Rios?
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2009 -> 11:32 AM) I'm fine with it...he didn't seem completely comfortable out there. His velocity was in the 87 mph range. We've used the bullpen a fair amount over the last few games, and IIRC Gavin's up next right? It seems like saving the bullpen by having a guy throw more than 62 pitches isn't the worst idea in the world.
  7. Colon only threw 62 pitches before they took him out??!
  8. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ May 16, 2009 -> 11:21 AM) i know its far too early but at this point what level prospect might colon be worth to a winning team that has lost a pitcher Given his salary and the fact that he's pitching his way to being at least a type B Free Agent, if not type A...a really solid one at current rates.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2009 -> 11:20 AM) No, it was actually a great relay. Dye played it perfectly off the wall. I meant on AJ trying to get the guy at 3rd instead of letting him get back
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2009 -> 11:19 AM) Why is no one yelling at AJP to throw it to 3rd base? The radio guys were suggesting that there was no one ready to receive the thrrow.
  11. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 16, 2009 -> 11:02 AM) I don't get why people think Anderson is staying in AAA. It's a damn rehab stint. Chances are he'll be starting in CF again after this series. Do you honestly believe that Brian Anderson will be treated as a starting CF when he comes back? He's hitting .231 against lefties and .308 against righties on this season. But we have another Lefty OF on the Roster in Podsednik...so when we platoon him, if those numbers hold up, his batting average is going to go steadily downwards over the next 2 weeks because he's hitting RHP better than LHP but he'll never face RHP again, and he'll wind up confined to the bench. It will not be the first time we've seen it.
  12. DJ says this is our first lead in Toronto since 6/3/07.
  13. QUOTE (mr_genius @ May 16, 2009 -> 10:59 AM) Honestly, it should be dismissed. Who cares? Because this was a guy who could have legitimately made some noise in 2012 as an outside-the-box candidate for the Republican nomination...someone who isn't of the Palin/Huckabee/Romney mold and who actually might bring a differing set of policies. It's far less likely that he'll run in 2012 now. But this could set him up with stronger credentials in 2016.
  14. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ May 16, 2009 -> 10:57 AM) Oh, I thought someone said he was on the bench ready to play. I just hope he comes back and is healthy. Hopefully it won't be one of those nagging injuries. He's still in Charlotte. PLayed a double header yesterday, he's 5/12 so far with a triple in 3 games. Article today said to expect him back (and presumably instantly benched) on Tuesday.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2009 -> 10:56 AM) Getz is looking like just another Sox prospect who's not ready to contribute at the MLB level when they get promoted. Hopefully that changes with the new crop of Sox prospects. He can't just be slumping in May?
  16. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ May 16, 2009 -> 10:54 AM) Wait, so Anderson is ready to go but not playing? He's still on a rehab stint. With the injury he had, it makes sense to take some time with him to get his timing back...and Thursday's game was rained out in Charlotte. I'm hoping there's a health reason why they're waiting til Tuesday...having him tomorrow seems useful.
  17. I'm really enjoying the selection of songs the score is playing coming back from commercial breaks.
  18. Which team will make more outs on the basepaths this game?
  19. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ May 16, 2009 -> 10:50 AM) hate to say it wasnt lili fault there. The steal sign was on and blue jays read it easily.. An 0-1 pitch is a perfect time for a pitch out and simply isn't a good time to run. If they pitch out, the worst that happens is the count is 1-1. 2 outs on the bases for each team. Good throw JD and Getz.
