AJ Burnett threw 2 innings in a minor league game for the first time in like 2 weeks. Supposedly his problem was scar tissue breaking loose. Carl Pavano is out of the Yankee rotation until further notice. Their rotation to start the year will be Johnson, Mussina, Chacon, Wang, and Jaret Wright. In another brilliant move, the Yankees will use Mr. "Off Day" as their 5th starter for the first few weeks of the season, because no pitcher ever benefits from an extra day of rest.

This paragraph is why you can tell this "report" is wrong. Why? Because everyone knew about Hermanson's back condition. He's been in constant care by Hermy basically all winter. The whole group of them knew he was going to try to avoid the surgery, but the whole group knew there was no other option if rehab didn't work. So, why would Kenny be a.) surprised by talk of the surgery when the back problem came back up and b.) asking Hermanson whether or not he should bo look for a reliever in the first place?
