A White Sox election heist
I wish they'd tell us a definition of "Squeaked by". 4 million out of 15 million is not a small chunk, especially since the guy in the NL won with like 2 million.

Fox News' John Gibson Hurting US Canada relations
This guy is a complete wack job. Take a look at the stuff he said before/after the London bombings. Before: After: Yes, he's actually saying that a terrorist was sitting around, saw that Britain won the olympics, and in less than 24 hours was able to mobilize a large plot involving 4 precisely timed strikes in transportation systems making use of high explosives.

Karl Rove was the Plame leaker
Let's say that for some reason he didn't break the letter of the law, i.e. the law is terribly worded, and he can get away with the "I only said Wilson's wife, I didn't say Valerie Plame" defense. First, if Bush is such a straight shooter, why exactly would he let a guy who clearly violated his trust and just barely maneuvered himself out of jail stay in the white house? Second, why in God's name would you let this guy keep his security clearance? (Remember, he still has access to a huge amount of government information, and he's already shown a willingness to abuse that priveledge)

Kenny Rogers
One of the biggest stories of the AS Game will now be how bad of a reaction Rogers gets.

Boone to Minnesota (Official)
Some of us can't read Kruk columns...damn insider. Anywho...I'd love for the Twinkies to get him. He's hardly an upgrade over anything on their roster right now. .231 BA, .299 OBP? Hell, he only has hit 7 home runs this year. That's more than the 3 guys they have at 2nd base on their roster, but it's hardly anything to shout about.

Jayson Stark
He may very well have written this before the Wunsch injury.

Its official Buehrle to start
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 09:46 AM) Theres no reason Willis should not be starting. Let me quote Jayson Stark for about 8 reasons why Willis should not be starting.

Viz
I worry when Viz comes in as much as the next person, and he is one of the only roster spots I'd really be interested in upgrading @. That said...can anyone suggest to me someone who's going to be available in the "3-4 inning block every 3-4 days" role who will be available for a decent price? No one is rapidly popping to my mind. I really don't want to try to mine the Tampa bullpen or the Colorado bullpen for this one. Maybe the solution is to give an extra roster spot to a pitcher instead of a position player and keep a guy like Jenks around, so that we don't have to have Viz go 2.1 innings as often.

Its official Buehrle to start
So...when the first 2 innings of that ballgame are over after like 10 minutes, will MLB be happy or sad? (I figure it'll keep people tuned in to the commercials more if they think the inning will be over if they change the channels). Congrats Mark...2 AS Starter's in 3 years, that ain't bad. Now let's just get you a few other tokens...that 20th win, a Cy Young trophy, and a new ring.

GAME THREAD 7-10-2005 SOX vs A's
Oh no, now Willie Harris needs to move a guy over to 2nd base. God help us all.

Nice play Pablo, nice way to keep us in the game. Man, does Crosby ever hit a ball that doesn't go straight down the line or in a gap?

QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 03:18 PM) perhaps the sun isnt in there eyes Some guys probably like the sunglasses in certain positions and dislike them in others, probably depends on where the ball goes in relation to the sun. That was the shortest mound visit i've ever seen. EVER.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 03:16 PM) Hawk complaining about balls and strikes this game got really embarassing. Hawk is complaining about exactly 1 strike call...and the absolutely ridiculous tossing of AJP.

Aaron Rowand just kept us in the lead that inning, along wiht some good work by Garcia. Good job guys there when we needed ya.

GAME THREAD 7-10-2005 SOX vs A's
Was someone saying yesterday that Rowand doesn't have a good throwing arm? That may be 2 runs he's saved today with great throws.

2 hits today for Konerko, that's one dramatic improvement. Can anyone remember the last time Paulie hit a home run? I serioulsy can't BOOM!

Quick 2 outs...come on Freddy, get through this inning easily, get this guy, get our offense back out there and don't give Haren a chance to rest. We didn't look terrible against him last inning.

Ever since Arow got into this funk, the one thing i've noticed is that he has been over the top of almost everything other than the really high stuff. It's like he just can't get his bat to go down.

GAME THREAD 7-10-2005 SOX vs A's
Good work Hot Carl avoiding that DP. Good slide by Paulie. ARow...knock this f***ing run in. OR ELSE.

GAME THREAD 7-10-2005 SOX vs A's
Man...lookie there. Double by Pods, 1 pitch moves the guy to 3rd, and Thomas drives him in. Thank you Tadahito...that run was ENTIRELY due to you.

GAME THREAD 7-10-2005 SOX vs A's
Hey Willie look...1 pitch to Iguchi and there's another productive out. 1 PITCH. 1 FREAKING PITCH AND HE HITS THE BALL AND MOVES THE RUNNER.
