  1. His career wRC+ against RHP is 103, so he's slightly above an average hitter against righties on his career. That doesn't fit my definition of "Very productive".
  2. There's a good chance that Mazara is non-tendered after 2020. All he has to do is continue doing exactly what he's done so far.
  3. I would have no issue giving up a AA reliever who is showing some promise for this player.
  4. He's not awful but below average so far in his career.
  5. How f***ing bad have things gotten if Castellanos is the guy we're putting out in the field because someone else's defense is worse?
  6. what is with you and never embedding tweets?
  7. Like where? You ok with Mazara and Bumgarner?
  8. We had it last year and it was a privilege to be there.
  9. If Mazara had 6 years of control that's one thing. He has substantially less, and is being paid well already.
  10. "Well my answer is f*** you." -Ricky, earlier this year, being a true professional.
  11. Going from -2 WAR to 1 WAR in RF is an upgrade, and the money spent for this season is tolerable. Giving up anything of value, even guys we're down on, is the part that I say ugh to. $5.7 and a player for Mazara $10 million for Calhoun Unless the player is nearly worthless doesn't everyone pick Calhoun in that case?
  12. If Mazara was a free agent this offseason would he get higher or lower than $5.7 million? That's a rough projected arb number for him.
  13. Similar response here. This guy is a 2nd year arbitration eligible player who we might well let go after 1 year because in 2021 he'd make $7-$8 million.
  14. That would be a "Rick Hahn Special" level of Hell No.
  15. Given that Mazara is going to be a 2nd year arb player this year, those guys already seem a little heavy to me. A dip in production next year and he's a non-tender candidate.
  16. But he's still young enough that improvement is possible. As long as we're not giving up much.
  17. FWIW, teams don't move big contracts for "bumper crop of prospects". You move cheap, controlled people for prospects. You move big contracts for minimal return to save money. The White Sox don't have a bumper crop of prospects, but they have the ability to take on contracts.
  18. Not with where the current pitching market sits, not any more.
  19. WIth his health history I don't see any way I'd consider taking him on.
  20. A couple weeks ago the White Sox would have been requesting a lot more money back than what they'd be doing now, given this pitching market. If they wanted to do it, it's actually gotten easier the last couple days.
  21. With how this pitching market has developed and Boston so far failing to cut payroll, it makes a lot more sense today than even 2 weeks ago.
  22. I'm far more concerned about giving up Vaughn and Madrigal than the money. We've got money to spend, but we don't have money to spend on Bryant + replacing Vaughn and Madrigal and finding pitching.
