  1. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 12:02 PM) I don't understand. Why is everyone overreacting? *searches for the This is Fine meme* For reference, I stuck to the ones that were easiest to document/had a police report filed. There are lots of those.
  2. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 10:37 AM) I'll say it again, I hate the fact that we elected Trump, I full expect him to be pretty awful, but God damn is it entertaining watching you guys (and other liberals I know) freak out to the absolute extreme. All while i'm sure you laughed when Repub's were concerned that Obama was a socialist and was going to destroy the 2nd amendment. CALM. THE. f***. DOWN. This asshole was a Democrat the majority of his life. Just because he fooled a bunch of dumb Republicans into voting for him on a "conservative" platform doesn't mean he's actually going to do it. Here's the word Trump scrawled across the door of a Muslim student prayer room at NYU yesterday. Please person who doesn't have to be afraid for their life, tell people who do that they should calm down. I'm sure they'll listen. And that's just the beginning.
  3. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 11:19 AM) What do you guys think is a realistic return for Frazier? I would think at least one good prospect since a team trading for him can recoup a pick with a QO (assuming it doesn't change much in the next CBA). So likely 2 good prospects? It depends on how tight the market actually is. Justin Turner is available as a free agent and was substantially better than Frazier this year. Luis Valbuena put up better numbers than Frazier and is available, but he only played 90 games. The thing I can't answer right now is - how many teams don't need these guys? Houston has Bregman who will take over 3b, they don't need one. Boston may or may not want a 3b. A lot of the other competitive teams have guys they're probably pretty happy with at 3b. I only count a handful of teams that Frazier would be a clear upgrade for, some of those are like Minnesota - not going to bring in someone to replace Sano or other young guy - and they're off the list too. If someone like SF or Boston steps in to go after Turner and takes him off the market, that could create more demand, but right now this position doesn't seem like the sellers market that you see at other positions from a quick look at the leaguewide stats. Now that I look at this, Frazier might actually not be in that much demand at all. That's troublesome.
  4. Last week an article about a Hillary Clinton email leak suspect found dead in suspicious murder suicide from the Denver Guardian became one of the "trending" news articles shared at the top right of some users FB feeds. It was presented by FB as a legit news story for people to click on. Not only was the article a hoax, there is no such thing as the Denver Guardian.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 08:27 AM) This is the problem. The people supporting Trump truly have no clue how bad this will be. The very people supporting him (aside from white males) will be the ones who will be s*** upon the most. They ate up everything that nut had to say. They don't care if they get hurt as long as it hurts brown people more. That's why their party was motivated to turn out. All these posts about how the Democrats weren't passionate to turn out ignores the other side - white people turned out, lower income level people still voted for Democrats, but the only segment that voted for Trump was the group that was passionately committed to getting rid of anyone who is different.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 08:07 AM) If Florida's under water, parts of California will likely be under water as well. Not substantially. California has an active margin coastline - the slopes are much steeper in California, most of the coastline is bounded by a sea cliff created by the ocean eroding recently uplifted rock. Increasing sea level will cause substantial beach erosion and the harbors will have to adjust their position but very little of the population will be displaced.
  7. QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 08:11 PM) As President Trump would say, "I know it, he knows it, we all know it." Do you have a source though? Telling people that it will be ok and they shouldn't be terrified because the White Supremacist on his way to the white house didn't focus that much hate on this particular minority is not going to get a receptive response from anyone. It doesn't even have to be legislative. If someone gets beaten up for being in the bathroom and an undocumented immigrant sells pot in colorado, which do you think Giuliani's DOJ is going to go after?
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 08:40 AM) You've made a valid point, but we need that California vote so I can't hope for that. huh?
  9. Bah, Steve just give that a few years and we won't need the saw.
  10. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 09:19 PM) Or the environment. That's a couple key issues that should have come up and didn't. For all the talk about physical health care (which is indeed important), ignoring mental health and environmental health (as it effects people especially) seems to have missed the boat. Talk now of Sarah Palin becoming head of the Interior Department. Once the mines are in the Grand Canyon we'll just get used to it.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 06:02 AM) Just wait until Trump opens up another investigation into the Clintons after inauguration or tries to bring criminal charges. He goes that route, he's going to re-energize a lot of young people who sat out this election. No one will f***ing care at all. Hell I half want Hillary Clinton in prison for letting a white supremacist beat her in the election.
  12. QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 08:11 PM) As President Trump would say, "I know it, he knows it, we all know it." Do you have a source though? No. To a person who's already on the edge that doesn't matter. This country is now run by the bullies they can barely take on a normal day.
  13. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 08:07 PM) Can someone explain to me why the LGBT community is freaking out so much? What has Trump said he was going to do? They're already bullied anyway, Mike Pence is the VP, and the Republicans have the Congress. The North Carolina bathroom bill and the Indiana hate the gays bill are going nationwide and everyone knows it.
  14. A transgendered person I follow who has connections to a support group currently counts the number of suicides since last night at 8. I'm not going to read any more of her posts on this.
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 11:20 AM) If most if not all of Trump's promises like a wall, throwing 11 million illegals out, high paying jobs for uneducated people with no skills, while paying little taxes, don't come to fruition, and just turn into the lies he's been spewing for ironically 30 years about himself, how long before the natives turn on him? Another scary thing, Rudy Guilianni as Attorney General. He's as nuts as Trump. I just wonder what the deal is with Pence. Didn't the Trump campaign basically offer Kasich the Presidency without the title if he joined the ticket? Pence may have received the same deal, and he's scary too. I know Texas is going to pass a bathroom bill in a few months, but I'm betting the Republicans will take it nationwide.
  16. San Diego had a ballot measure up for vote last night that would have established a hotel tax to fund stadium bonds. It lost badly. The Chargers have until January to pick up an offer to move to Los Angeles, and you have to figure they will join the Rams after last night.
  17. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 10:06 AM) Exactly, even with a majority Trump will not just breeze his way through legislation. I understand it sucks losing a game played every four years and for one day, but let's not pack our bags for Canada just yet. We'll get through it Paul Ryan's Budget can be signed on January 20. A budget does not qualify under the filibuster rules, and they would break them to pass it anyway.
  18. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 08:40 AM) This is what the Democratic party believed and this is why they lost. The results pretty clearly say that. And anyone who isn't white, healthy, christian, and cis-gendered is considered broken. Hence why you don't get to tell them not to panic today, because we're ok with that and the country declared that all those things are broken.
  19. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 07:34 AM) I'd bet a lot that none of this changes. You're not getting more gun restrictions on a federal level hut you weren't going to get that anyway. People need to breath. This is exactly how Republicans thought about Obama. He didn't destroy the country/world. Colleague on twitter:
  20. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Nov 8, 2016 -> 11:48 PM) cali's economy is really going to get a boost from this What little bit is left after tomorrow. The United States just repudiated the stable world order of the last 75 years. You won't be able to afford to smoke your way out of that.
  21. You have no idea how glad I am that I got my wife 2.5 more years of guaranteed health insurance with new job this year. She won't be insurable in January.
  22. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 12:31 AM) Fox is calling Wisconsin Based on numbers of votes in 2012 this is the correct call.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 8, 2016 -> 11:54 PM) I don't think that is nearly as big of a deal as it used to be. The quality of facilities has gone up a lot around the country in the last generation. BHam's ballpark is brand new right?
  24. FWIW, Donald Trump has won Utah, so the chances of no one getting to 269 and the Congress throwing it to the 3rd party candidate are now gone.
